Tokushima city is the capital of Tokushima Prefecture on the island of Shikoku in Japan. A transportation hub, Tokushima is often used as a stopover when visiting other cities around the island. The city is accessible via the Tokushima Airport (TKS), which offers connections between Japanese cities like Tokyo and Fukuoka. The city is also accessible by rail.

The festival is part of the larger Japanese custom known as “obon,” which honors the spirits of ancestors who have passed.
Tokushima is also home to many natural attractions, including Mount Bizan, where visitors can climb and enjoy the view looking out above the city. The mountain also has a ropeway. Also located within the city is Tokushima Central Park, which is an excellent place to enjoy the cherry blossoms in the spring.
