3 Star Hotels in Tijuana

The fantastic staff, quick reception, without being forced to do it helped me get an emergency medicine - I feel very grateful. The hotel is located just 8 minutes from the airport.

I am a frequent business traveler with over 2 million frequent flyer miles. Have stayed in Kempinski, St Regis, W, Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Waldorf Astoria, Marriott, Hyatt, all the way down to Motel 6, Hampton Inns, Red Roof Inns, Army/Air Force/Navy Inns. The Hotel Jatay is a self proclaimed 4 Star Hotel. It is at best in my opinion a 1.5 star economy beach front stay. The location of the Jatay is its' only selling point. The hotel provides efficient wireless, a secure garage with space for approximately 15 vehicles, an ice machine on the 2nd floor, a reasonably priced nice restaurant on the 5th floor, and a single elevator which is frequently interoperable. The rooms have a safe, cable tv, a chair, a desk, and an armoire and night stands with the laminates coming apart from the furniture. Issues: over 70 rooms, and secure parking for only 40 vehicles; the shower water pressure goes from low to high pressure every 20 seconds; when the water pressure goes up it becomes hot, and when it goes down the water is cold; silver fish bugs in the room; no mini fridge, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, comfy chair, or sofa in the room; the armoire is small without sufficient space to hang clothes; a single towel to each occupant; house cleaning rarely shows up, and when they do you are luck if they even make the bed; no business center; and no fitness center. The Hotel Jatay staff for the most part is polite, but unskilled. The daytime manager is a very rude and extremely unhelpful woman.

This is the kind of place you stay to get a few hours of sleep after getting drunk in one of TJ's many drinking establishments. The hotel is right in the middle of the red light district. It is convenient to many of the establishments that people come to TJ for. If you don't care about anything other than having a bed in a convenient location, this place is a good value and may work for you. It's not a place you'll want to spend any extra time at. That being said, let me explain more about this hotel. It looks nice from the outside, and is set back from the main road by a private parking lot which is guarded. The security of this place is good, which is much appreciated considering the seediness of the area. The staff here are good too, very efficient and friendly. Check in and check out are a breeze and the staff will help whenever they can. The public areas of the hotel have been recently spruced up and look nice. The price of the rooms are reasonable. Those are the only positives, though. The rooms are just nasty - smelly, noisy, dirty. There is almost no natural light - one window faces the interior hotel atrium, and two tiny windows located in the shower room open to an alleyway. There is no fresh air in the rooms and no ventilation, other than noisy wall unit A/C which is only recirculating the same stale air. This is probably why the rooms have a smell. The walls are thin so you'll be hearing a lot of noise (though just from the inside of the hotel - the hotel is set back enough from the street that you don't hear street noise). The rooms were not clean, with little stains here and there, paint peeling off, mold in the bathroom area etc. There are also almost no amenities - no fridge, hair dryer, tissue box. There is a small safe, however. My towels were damp, probably from not being dried enough in the laundry. This hotel can serve a purpose but just know what you are getting if you make a reservation.

This is the absolute best place to stay on Revolution Av. I have stayed here for years. The view is great, and the staff is quite helpful. A wonderful breakfast comes with the room which includes fresh squeezed orange juice. It is near Tilley's and Hotel Caesar that both have great restaurants.

The rooms are immaculate and fresh. The air conditioning system was very quiet, as well as our entire stay. We felt like we were the only ones at the hotel—excellent lighting with plentiful amounts of USB and electric connections for all our electronic devices. A closet, iron, and board, safe, blow dryer, and complimentary water in the room along with a small fridge. Check-in was very efficient. Using the app would have been quicker. They have a sanitizing protocol like spray sanitizing your luggage, shoes, and hands. We loved the stay and can't wait to stay again.

Let me just start by saying this hotel and their staff were great! I went down there to take my daughter for a medical procedure. I dropped her off at 8 a.m. but their check in time is 3 p.m.. They bent over backwards to help me out and had a room ready by 11 a.m.. The rooms very extremely clean and comfortable. The hotel is taking extreme precautions due to Covid. They take your temperature at the door, supply hand sanitizer, and all employees are wearing masks with servers also wearing gloves. I ate multiple meals at the restaurant with the food being good, not very expensive, and again the waiters being so friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a shutter service and they drove me to the hospital to pick up my daughter so I didn't have to navigate the confusing streets of Tijuana. And as I was leaving, the nicest thing they did for me was to actually lead me to the border entrance we needed by following the shuttle driver there. If I go to Tijuana again, this is the only hotel I would stay in.

The hotel entrance is very small. It is essentially 1 regular glass door (32.53073920595744, -117.03780915064294) next to the bar. The hotel has a permanent staff watching this door. You can be buzzed in by this staff. Your key only opens your room. the majority of the room do not have any electronic locks. It's just good old fashion keys. The queen size bed is on a frame. It is not very stable. One can easily move it. This helps the staff change your sheets easily. There is smart TV mounted on the wall with Netflix available. The soaps in the bathrooms are on a dispenser. There is no safe. The wardrobe is a cabinet looking thing without any doors. half of the room have windows, might be noisy sometimes. The other half have skylights because they are on the inner side of the building.

When visiting Playas you can't go wrong with this choice. Excellent service. Fantastic location. Walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops, and movie theater. Also serves a great brunch. Enjoy
