A friendly welcome from Larissa & Isobel with information about the local area too. Lovely area & hotel in great location by the square. Short walk to the Riverside & lots of restaurants although we found the Red Ox just along the road & had a lovely meal there. Our room was lovely & looked out over the street. Nice comfy bed & very nice breakfast! Liked that you could boil your own egg so have an egg exactly how you like it & hot too! 6 minutes gave you a perfectly cooked egg with a nice soft runny yolk! Car park is undercover and not far away via a walkway from the main street. Our car was safe in this car park and we paid for the parking at the end of our stay. We loved the area of Thun. The wooden bridges with all the flowers in the summer are beautiful and watching the surfers that had attached themselves to the bridges and were taking it in turns to surf was entertaining! There were also tight rope walkers practicing across the river! Wish we'd had longer than 1 night! Thank you Hotel Krone!

The room is big, with two large beds. It's only 10 minutes away from the train station. The road is flat, there is no slope, and it's not tiring to push the suitcase. The hotel service is in place, and they clean every day. It's worth noting that our suitcase couldn't be opened, and the front desk found tools for us to open it. There is a small park and grass at the door and not far away. The scenery is great and the transportation is convenient.

Stopped off on our way to the Valais . Were content with our stay. Reception was friendly, beds were comfortable, parking opposite only 4 CHF for 24 hours. Breakfast was great, and we had a cup of tisane in the evening from the lobby after enjoying our meal in the hotel restaurant very much Pizza, fish bits and cordon bleu with a generous starter salad went down very well with a bottle of local wine (petite arverne) Staff obviously enjoy their job here. Would stay here again any time.

The fact that you are able to stay in a building that has so much history, makes this place special from the get-go. But if you add on top of that, the tasteful way this building was done to convert it into a hotel, while respecting the exterior architecture you know you are staying in not just any hotel, this is truly a unique hotel with unique decor and ambiance. The staff are one of the nicest too, I was greeted by Herbert and was so nice and so thoughtful. When I told him I was leaving the next very early in the morning and would not be able to take advantage of the wonderful breakfast, he took it upon himself to make sure I would not leave the hotel w/ no breakfast. He arranged for a breakfast package be ready for me. I thought that was very kind of him and also appreciate greatly how accommodating he was. The hotel is amazing, I stayed in the business room and I find it to be just enough for me, since the bedroom has been designed with some thought process, the furniture makes the room feel efficient and airy. Good care has been place to make sure all amenities needed are on the bedroom. Thun is a beautiful small town, and best way to enjoy it is to stay within the city. This places makes just that. This hotel is definitely worth it.

The century-old shop is located in the city center. The first floor of the residence is a coffee restaurant. It is not far from the train station. It is the back entrance of the Thun Castle across the road. The entrance of the small door goes along the stairs to the castle. Western-style breakfast is abundant. The room is big with three beds, clean and hygienic, comfortable mattresses, high-end bathroom decoration, but there is no elevator to check luggage to the third floor!

I only stayed for 2 nights but it was very pleasant to sleep in a very comfortable bed after a long hiking day. (And I want to notice that I was in the cheapest room sio I can't imagine the other ones !) And the staff was lovely, very helpfull despite of my weird questions in English. I encourage you to come to this hotel in Thun !
