Four Seasons Hotel Sydney Reviews

First off, the front desk staff. As soon as I arrived, they immediately started upselling, which was very off-putting. They pushed me to pay extra for a panoramic opera house view room. I declined the upgrade but insisted on a high floor. She initially said floor 32, but then changed it to 12, saying 32 would cost extra. So I ended up with a room on the 12th floor. However, when I got to the room, it didn't match the pictures I booked. They then moved me to the 29th floor, but upon entering that room, I found the nightstand hadn't been wiped and still had food stains from the previous guest. Seeing that, I immediately contacted the front desk to have it cleaned. Then, when I went to boil water, I noticed their kettle hadn't been washed – it still had coffee stains inside. I was truly shocked. This is a Four Seasons Hotel, not just any ordinary hotel! I'm really disappointed. The food at the restaurant was good, though; I'd recommend the red tuna, and the bread served with oil was unique, with a very special oil flavor. This was my first time staying at a Four Seasons, and the experience wasn't great. I'm quite disappointed and not sure if I'll stay at a Four Seasons again in the future. A fantastic hotel with great views and comfortable stays. The location is excellent, making it incredibly convenient to get everywhere. You can see the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge right from your window.

The views are incredible and the location is excellent. The room, however, is super small. I stayed here ten years ago and it feels like it's been renovated since then. The parking garage has a height limit of 1.9 meters, which our car couldn't clear. The Chinese concierge staff actively communicated with their colleagues and perfectly helped us resolve the issue.

The room was a bit small and the facilities were a bit old, but the service was very good and attentive. The full ocean view room had an unobstructed view, with the Harbour Bridge and Opera House right in front.

The service staff at Mode restaurant within the hotel were excellent. The harbor view from the higher floors is good, but even the so-called panoramic rooms on lower floors have obstructed views and are very close to the elevated highway, offering minimal privacy. We booked two panoramic rooms. The hotel welcome letter we received upon check-in mentioned a complimentary room upgrade. It's completely understandable if no upgraded rooms are available, but the front desk told us we had already been 'upgraded' to a panoramic room, which was what we had paid for in the first place – quite frustrating. The welcome letter also stated free late check-out at 1600 hours. As I wasn't sure what this meant, I went to the concierge to ask, but the staff member kept trying to direct me to the front desk, claiming they weren't clear on the details. As a hotel guest, I believe the concierge should at least be able to assist in confirming benefits offered by the hotel itself. Eventually, I had to queue at the front desk again to inquire, only to be told it meant late check-out until 4 PM, subject to room availability that day. In the end, the hotel granted us a 2 PM check-out. There were noticeable issues with cleanliness and maintenance. The key card sensor in one of the elevators was faulty. While dining at Mode restaurant, I opened my napkin to find two distinct lipstick stains on it. The bed linen in the room also appeared somewhat yellowed, and there were several obvious stains on the duvet. My bathroom didn't have a dental kit, while our other booked room did, indicating inconsistent room preparation. The turndown service was also quite basic. It essentially consisted of placing unopened slippers by the bed and providing ice, with no curtain drawing or noticeable tidying/adjustment of the bedding. By Four Seasons standards, the attention to detail was severely lacking. On the positive side, the breakfast selection was quite extensive and tasty, generally suiting Asian palates. Each room also came with a $100 hotel credit, and we did ultimately receive a 2 PM late check-out. The staff at Mode restaurant, in particular, deserve commendation for their professional and enthusiastic service. Overall, I feel this hotel doesn't live up to the Four Seasons name. Aside from its convenient location and the late check-out/credit offer, there were almost no redeeming qualities. In comparison, the Shangri-La offers better views, but its uphill entrance isn't ideal for guests with elderly companions. The Park Hyatt has the best views, but its price is too high and service is lacking.

The location, view, and service are all top-notch. It's so comfortable and great no matter where you go. If I come back again, I think I'll choose Four Seasons again.

I enjoyed room service and turn down service but housekeeping was not automatic. Very dated hotel but comfortable enough - excellent location. Easy to get a cab. Good gym too. Otherwise pricey for what it is

Excellent service, especially from Reservation Supervisor Ms. Yvonne lu , who took great care of our team from Indonesia. We truly appreciate her professionalism, prompt assistance, and warm hospitality. We will definitely come back and stay here again

Convenient location, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room service was a bit slow, but even though the facilities are a bit old, they're well-maintained. A small issue though: when I called room service from my room phone, the hotel staff didn't seem to know which room number the call was coming from, which felt a bit odd.

Best stay ever! The hotel is at a great location, circular quay and the rocks are just downstairs. The room is very spacious and clean! Very child-friendly! Housekeeping is also very attentive. Highly recommended for people who would like to have a comfortable stay in Sydney!

The location is absolutely unbeatable, just a two-minute walk from the exit to Circular Quay. From the room, you can see both the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. The hotel breakfast is incredibly rich and varied, and the service is excellent. The room is a bit small but very well laid out.

The breakfast was delicious, and everyone provided very attentive and polite service. I was so impressed with the Opera House view from my room. The complimentary mini-bar was also well-stocked!
