my sincere appreciation for the exceptional experience my family and I had during our recent stay at The Hermitage Kanatal. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the stunning ambience of your resort, which perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the surroundings. The food at your resort was truly outstanding. Each meal was a culinary delight, and we appreciated the variety and quality of dishes offered. The dining experience was made even more enjoyable by the warm and attentive service provided by your staff. Speaking of the staff, I must commend Mr. Sarvesh for his professionalism and exceptional hospitality throughout our stay. He went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed and was always ready to assist us with a smile. His courteous and helpful demeanor truly enhanced our overall experience at your resort. Thank you once again for ***aging such a remarkable property and for creating a memorable experience for us. We checked in at 11.30 in the morning, and the process was smooth. The resort nestled amidst all-around solitude in Kanatal, a not so popular hill station in Uttarakhand . We  booked in a double Delux room with Valley View.  Let us now move to the review of facilities and my experience ( Rating has been assigned in a scale of 1 to 5 , 5 being highest):- A. Location : Located in the wilderness , nestled between green pine forest and apple orchards  80 km from Rishikesh. SUV costs Rs. 5000 one way from Jolly Grant. The transfer was smooth. The resort is built in style with  curated green open space and has  a viewing area to catch a grand view of the majestic Trishul range. (Rating 4.85). B. Room :  The double delux room in the ground floor allocated to us was  about 200 square feet with a  veran*** facing lush green pine forest. The room was elegantly furnished with matching fittings, has a large single bed with side tables on both sides, a wardrobe, and a dressing table . Bed was rightly soft and comfy with linens . The room had  wooden flooring and clean and have amenities like tea making facility, a separate pantry . Adequate bottles of water are provided, and tea  pouches are replaced every day. The toilet is big in size and with a separate changing area. Toilet is fitted with sanitary fitings of acceptable quality and geyser. Toileteries like shampoo pouches and body lotion were provided. The quality of toileteries is standard. The room is airy with a large window. Heaters are provided ***** with an electric heated mattress. Pillows and quilt provided are very good. Additional pillows and blankets are provided on request. (Rating 4.75) C. Facilities : The resort has all the facilities that you require for a relaxed holiday amidst nature. There is a common sitting area and a common dining hall. They have a  well curated lawn with a bonfire area, sitting arrangement with sun umbrella. The bungalow has a large shared living area. Rooms do  have satellite TV and WIFI, though the signal is not very strong , being located in a remote area .They have one common dining room, where food can be pre ordered. There is an indoor games and kids' play area. The main attraction is the viewing area from where the view is awesome.  Resort arrange tours.(Rating 4.75) D. Dining options: The hotel has a dining room where a reasonable variety of cuisines are served . Food  is a home cooked style and gives a choice of Indian, Asian cuisines. You can have your food in the dining room, in-room, or at the lawn. The quality of food is very good and pahadi cuusines are must try out.(Rating 4.75). E. Overall service : The hotel has a very well-behaved team of staff at the reception and also at its housekeeping and dinjbg room. All requests are met immediatel

Not a bad place, but below expectation. High expectation setup due to its high rating and the price. The hotel room really needs upgrade - no views from room, curtains that dont slide, underwhelming furniture, not so clean beddings, pillow covers, torn towels. No view from outside sitting as well. However, things that we liked were its food, nice service, convenient location and evening bonfire. But at this price, we would recommend an alternate place.

Ok place, below expectation. Food was good, open areas have a nice feel and are welcoming, staff is well behaved. Location is bang on the Chamba Mussoorie road. Despite balcony being an inclusion in the booking, got a room with no balcony - the closest there was to a balcony was a outside lobby full of water dispenser and chairs and fully covered with glass panels overlooking the road. Very limited parking space - only 4 cars. Room was a two side window room woth curtains and blinds that juat do not cover they are non functional or do not slide, bathroom was similar and I requested curtain adjustment to cover. The hand soap does not foam and is all broken, the towels are torn. The owners are very warm and welcoming though a tad bit defensive from the word go. Note to add - be prepared for random rules like these - xyz price for losing a key. I wouldn’t mind paying whatever the resort thought was fit if I lost a key, but ironically I also had the only room which did not have a door lock but an old fashioned near breakdown bolt n lock. If customers are penalised, only fair locks are also fixed.

A lovely and warm place to stay. A very welcoming atmosphere. We loved the hospitality of Mrs Su*** and Sir ,very interesting personalities. We loved our time spent there. Its very clean and food is also nice .We also enjoyed the bon fire over there .

The place is best placed in lap of nature. It has valley with dense forests behind and a beutiful scenic valley in the front. Rooms are good, hospitality is great, the ambience is mesmerizing, garhwali food is something which is a must try. Overall one of the best place to stay for a tranquil vacation having conversation with nature..

This place can be called a boutique homestay, located in the backdrop of a Deodar forest, facing beautiful mountains. Kanatal is thankfully an offbeat place, between Chamba and Mussoorrie. The drive from Rishikesh to Chamba is very smooth, with beautiful , broadroads. Chamba to Kanatal one has to ***ouever through slightly narrow, but well-maintained roads. Endless bends later you reach Hermitage, the entry not-so prominent, so one might just miss it. Once inside, you'll fall in love with the the place with its exquisite decor and beautiful sit-outs. One word of acution/advice. There are only 14 rooms, each with different locations, Some with front balcony, some with a corridor leading to a common balcony, some towards the back, facing the forest, some at the front, facing the mountains. I guess one can book rooms in advance, but not the room locations. Su***ji, I must say that I am still slightly upset with you for not reserving the mountain view first floor rooms (She gave me one room on the 2nd floor, but we wanted adjacent rooms on the first floor). However, the she was gracious enough to listen to our request and gave us forest- facing rooms instead. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful. As expected in the mountains, there are stairs to go down or up to the rooms, there is no lift. I have to visit soon again to stay in the mountain facing first floor rooms! I guess one has to set right expectations while visiting such places. One has to prioritise the takeaways, mesmerising views, warmth, comfort, and just wow food. Minor hiccups might be there, but one has to overlook them. The food is excellent and the buffest breakfast has sufficient options. The open dining area is also beautiful but one must be careful of the occasional visiting monkeys. The place has a beautiful garden and even in peak summers, colourful flowers bloomed. There is a playroom with table tennis and carrom. The shopaholics in me even discovered beautiful shawls , stoles, sweaters, women by local craftswomen, being sold by a lady in the premises . The staff is courteous and helpful. They came three time to my room for errands as ******* as taking flies out of the room. And did not complain, at least not on my face! The rooms have electric kettle and a heatable bed, for winter months. Kanatal is much cooler than Mussorriee, given its higher altitude and lesser crowd. Sitting under the open sky, with deodar trees for company, and listening to soft ghazals or classical instrumental music being played at the dining hall is an ethereal indeed. The Herimitage Kanatal is not just a hotel, it is an experience in itself

Very cosy place. Excellent staff and service. Good food. Rooms were comfortable too. Easy access. Internet is an issue so better to carry own Jio number. Bathrooms need refurbishment. But overall a very happy experience.

For the first time I am writing this big review as It is important for people to know about this place. I stayed here and had a terrible experience. First at the time of booking they show there bigger room as we booked for super deluxe room but we got the smaller one. They even accepted this thing but not ready to change. The owner is so so rude. Geyser was not working. Tea cups were not there. Lighting bulb was broken. Washroom flush was not working. For flush and geyser thing we called reception around 7 and hotel person came by 8:30 to fix it. Tv was not working. We were having a dinner and they asked for our room keys to put extra bed. When we asked them to wait till we finish out dinner at there restaurant as our bags were open and we have our valuables items in our room. The owner made issue of this thing also. That we don’t trust them. This is so crazy as they have clearly mentioned in there terms and conditions that hotel is not responsible for client personal belongings. Visit this place if you want to ruin your vacation. No hospitality Institution should be so rigid, firm and unreceptive to the genuine feedback. Never will I recommend this Hotel for anyone else.
