This is generally well-managed, but could be so much better with a few improvements. We stayed for 10 nights in a 2-bedroom villa. The villa was generally clean, though quite dated. The reception staff were very friendly and very willing to help with any problems, except that there shouldn't have been problems! There was one restaurant / bar staff, who never smiled and and was always grumpy The bathroom smelled of sewage most of the time, which was very unpleasant. The beds weren't great, and were so short my feet hung over the end (I'm not very tall). While the rooms and bathroom were cleaned 5 days a week, I don't think they changed the bed linen. The internet is only available by renting a Wifi router from reception (€1/day), but they don't have many -- we asked for one when we made the initial booking and we got the last one. But the internet was pretty slow, I was often switching it off and using my phone. Clientele is very international, with most guests (I think) Portuguese - there were Germans, French and Dutch and Irish, and a few Brits. The pool is nice, but in the afternoons, and especially at weekends it got very crowded, with lots of non-guests driving up with their cars. The hotel sometimes checked our guest cards to make sure we were guests, but not very often, and it seems the wider town took advantage of that -- I told the reception we didn't appreciate our hotel being used as a municipal pool. The sun umbrellas can't be moved, and are pretty small, so lots of people moved the chairs to be under the shade of the trees. Breakfast was fine, but only open 8:30-10:30, so if you have an excursion with an early pickup, you will miss out. The evening buffet was also fine, though the restaurant was devoid of atmosphere, and sometimes had weird music (like a loud DJ playing house music at 8:00PM when it was mostly families!) The local Cabanas town is very nice with some nice restaurants, and there was a Fisherman festival on at the time. The beach was easy to get to with the dedicated boat service, and is a great beach, but only one bathroom, which isn't very much for such a well-used beach. The beach restaurant fills up fast (I couldn't get food there), and the beach chair rental is expensive (€23 for 2 chairs and a parasol), but if you bring your own sandwiches, it's fine. Tavira town was a €9 Uber ride away, and also very pretty, with lots of evening music festivals on. If the hotel refurbished the rooms to a more modern standard with better beds, fixed the sewage issues, put bigger sun umbrellas round the pool, had better security to restrict the pool for guests only, and put proper Wifi in, this would be a lovely place, but unfortunately, this fell a bit short of that.

This resort is amazing! Firstly the staff who checked us in were so friendly. We got to our accommodation and it was fantastic. We had a double room, a kind of side room with two singles and a sofa bed in the living room. We also had a very well equipped kitchen and a lovely balcony. The pools are brilliant. Securing sun beds was fine before 11am. My children went for two sessions at kids club and loved it. We were AI and I don’t think my children have enjoyed and eaten so much fish before. The AI bar rarely had a queue and the entertainment was really good. Only down side is that there isn’t a ‘shop’ on site. Things like inflatables, nail clippers, and general things. I would most definitely go back and I would highly recommend. Sure there lots I haven’t praised. Loved this resort and the area

Hotel with excellent facilities. The perfect place to enjoy the good weather in the Algarve. Close to a fantastic beach. The package I chose was bed and breakfast. The only weak point was the quality of the products for breakfast. The juices are of very low quality, mini pastries almost non-existent and very bad waffles. The same is repeated at dinner. We decided to have dinner at the hotel and the buffet is very poor and without quality. I don't know if it's related to the all inclusive packages that most guests have, but I think it's a point to improve for customer satisfaction. We love it anyway, but without a doubt that if I return, I will eat outside the hotel.

We are just nearing the end of our 10 day stay here, we have had a wonderful holiday, yes its 90% german citizens here and TUI should probably make that clearer when booking but part of me is glad they didnt as it may have made me book somewhere else, i have attended fitness classes in german but the staff made every effort to explain things to me in english and i enjoyed them just as much, my husband joined the tennis tournament and he had a great time, the german people he played with all spoke good english and they were laughing and joking together, my kids made some good friends too. The silent disco was wondeful having 3 channels on the headset, german, english and house music, it was so much fun. The bands and robins singers in the evening have been great. I havent struggled to get a table in the evening, in fact we have got the same table every night and our waiters have been wonderful. The food is world class and fresh. I was dubious about coming all inclusive as we normally go on villa holidays, but we have had the best time and wish we could stay longer. This is definately a 5 star resort, if you are booking just go with the flow their isnt really a language barrrier if you just put in the effort to speak to people. The pool area is the highlight of this hotel. There were plenty of sunbeds for the guests. There is a pool bar which opens if there is a full day of good weather. You must go to the bar, there is no poolside service. The gym and spa area were also good. I enjoyed a lovely massage. The hotel rooms are very compact but functional. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Shower was good and there was always hot water. The air con was great. The fridge works well if you leave the cabinet door open. There is tea and coffee (but not restocked) but no milk. You must put sign on the door if you want the cleaners to do your room. There is no iron in the room and none available on request. You have to pay for an ironing service. The sink drained very slowly in the bathroom. The hallway carpets had some questionable staining - I really cannot understand how they haven’t replaced sections of it. We had a room overlooking the carpark which is not the best view but does get nice evening sunshine on the balcony. The WiFi was good. The breakfast was only ok. I would have expected better. There was nice fresh fruit and fresh croissants each morning but the yogurt, orange juice and coffee were terrible quality. I wouldn’t touch the hot food. If you come down near the end of service, forget about it, staff seem to have given up, I even had to set my own table one morning as none of the tables had been cleared. The piano player at breakfast was very good. They give out flowers to the lady guests some days. These things are nice touches but I imagine guests would rather better food instead. We had lunch in the hotel twice. Pizza was ok. Tried the calamari another day but it could have been deep fried anything to be honest and fries tasted like they’d been sitting around. Rooftop bar is nice with lovely views and they make good cocktails. Bar staff were nice. We only in the rooftop restaurant once and it was disappointing.

If you're looking for a great place to chill Herdade da Corte is where you need to go. A Rio Grande style and feel about it, surrounded by fabulous hilly views, orange, lemon trees, olive groves, and pure adulterated silence. You hear the whisper of the breeze throughout the outdoor areas which have casual seating dotted about, a sweeping view, and a to die for salt-water pool. If you want 5 star service and a butler this isn't the place for you! Our favourite time of the day was a leisurely hour and half munching our way through the buffet breakfast, consisting of 4 different freshly made juices, a good selection of local produce, bread, rolls, pastries and cake, cheese, cold meats, fruits, yoghurt, and natural cereals - while idly looking out to the hills. There's also an array of teas, and the coffee is via a machine which is good - but goat's milk! We've travelled the world extensively and it's rare to find such a place. If you want to jazz up your time there Tavira is charming, along with Tavira Island. You do need a car if you stay at Herdade and want to visit many areas, however, we had read other reviews and knew that - but we just wanted to relax there and do nothing! We stayed 4 days and did venture out 1 afternoon to a restaurant in St Luzia. Local taxi, very nice driver. 20 euro each way (same prices to Tavira) about 15 minutes journey. The owners Joao and Francisco are cool, interesting guys, very helpful, and knowledgeable about the area , local produce, wines, and activities to do there - hiking, etc. Good massage also available in relaxing room. €50 Personally speaking, we dossed (an English word for lazing about) around the pool , helping ourselves to the well-stocked honesty bar, with the occasional beer/glass of wine, absorbed in a few good crime novels. Please note: after breakfast there is NO food available until 7pm. We knew that and brought along our own snacks, nuts etc. The evening menu is mainly cold, very good local produce - oh, please try the prawns (they hot). We tried almost everything on the menu during our stay - couldn't fault anything. My husband arrived completely knackered (another old-school word for tiredness) and after almost 4 days rooted to the place said he felt like the Six Million Dollar Man! This is a lovely hotel. A great location in the hills, beautiful and quiet. Surrounded by orange, lemon and olive trees, with fab views and gardens to sit in quiet corners. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately clean. The pool area, the same. The animals are a nice touch, with a donkey, some sheep, peacocks and turtles. And cats wandering around the gardens. All of that makes this a nice place to stay. But the star of this hotel, for us, was the restaurant, the quality of the food and the fantastic staff. From the sweetest, juiciest oranges and figs from the gardens for breakfast, to Algarvian fish stew for dinner, to local specialities like Cataplan, the quality of the food is very high. The staff of this hotel are of course very professional, but they also give a lovely personal service. They are so helpful, friendly and kind. Everyone goes the extra mile to make people feel welcome. Special thanks from us go to Pedro, the restaurant manager, and Miguel and Sofia. Making people feel special, as you do, is not easy, but it makes a huge difference to your guests. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

The hotel is conveniently located near beach and town centre. Very clean and well run. Room was good and cleaned every day. Pool area good too. Breakfast was fresh and well stocked. The breakfast staff were amazing- as the weekend was a bank holiday- they ran round like whirling dervishes restocking the food, cleaning tables etc. Reception staff helpful too. One point- no bottle of water in the fridge on arrival- I expect that after a long journey. Yes I’d recommend it

Basic hotel, rooms nice and clean, bed made every day. Staff not particularly friendly, food basic and boring went out most days. Pretty central for what we wanted, it was a place to sleep. Beach only about 5/10 minute walk which is beautiful.
