Mercure Tashkent South

I chose Mercure over Holiday Inn. Honestly, the Holiday Inn's location is much better, right by City Mall. This Accor-owned Mercure is a bit out of the way but very close to the airport (only a 10-minute drive). The area has a bit of a 'village in the city' vibe, but the upside is the rooms are quite spacious, with a separate walk-in closet. We stayed in Building A, but breakfast is in Building B. The breakfast is pretty standard, leaning towards a Western style. Overall, it's decent for a business trip. If room size isn't your top priority, I'd recommend the Holiday Inn's location given the similar price.

Overall, it was just okay. The water was shut off on the first night. I spoke to the front desk, and they kept saying they'd send bottled water but didn't tell me when the water would be back on. Generally, it's just so-so, and Tashkent feels quite barren.

The hotel is quite large, and while the room layout is a bit unusual, it's spacious enough. A pleasant surprise was the big, well-equipped gym, and another was the excellent breakfast, especially the incredibly delicious meat patty. On the day of check-out, I had to leave early to catch a train, and the front desk thoughtfully packed two large bags of breakfast for me, which I really appreciated. The location is a bit out of the way, and there don't seem to be any convenient subway stations nearby. There's also not much to do at night. However, Tashkent isn't that big, and taxis are cheap, so it wasn't a major issue.

My overall experience at Mercure Tashkent was quite good. The hotel's location is convenient, making it easy to catch a taxi or visit nearby restaurants, which is ideal for short stays or business trips. The room itself was clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding that ensured a good night's sleep. The decor is modern, and while not brand new, it's well-maintained. The bathroom was also clean, with stable hot water, making for a pleasant shower experience. In terms of service, the front desk communication was smooth and friendly. Check-in and check-out were efficient. Simple requests were generally handled promptly. Breakfast was decent, offering some local specialties alongside common Western options. The taste was fine, but the selection wasn't particularly extensive. Overall, this hotel offers good value for money. It's not exceptionally amazing, but it also doesn't have any significant drawbacks, making for a comfortable and reliable stay. I would consider staying here again if I return to Tashkent.

Everything was great except for the slightly out-of-the-way location. The room was very spacious, clean, and the service was excellent. The breakfast spread was also very rich. I had wanted to extend my stay, but when I inquired about续房 (extending my reservation), I was told the hotel was fully booked for the next day.
