I was the trip leader for a group of 20 experienced skiers from one of the largest ski clubs in the country (SCWDC). Our club has been going to Taos Ski Valley for many years, and our group had many repeat customers. We keep coming back because the Snakedance Condos really roll out the red carpet for groups. According to Hotel Manager Mitch Daniels, the Snakedance hosts 8 to 10 ski club groups every season, and that knowledge translates into a seamless guest experience highlighted by gracious hospitality, and thoughtful personal service. The hospitality started right upon our arrival at the Taos airport, where General Manager Roger Mariani greeted our group in person, and supervised loading our group's ski equipment and luggage onto two small vans for the 3-hour trip up to the Taos Ski Valley resort. The trip included a short 30-minute stop at a grocery store, which stretched into more than an hour as everyone loaded up on food and supplies. This was a godsend, as the base village at the ski resort is very short on amenities, such as sundries, toiletries, and pharmacy items. Shortly after our arrival at the resort, the Snakedance hosted a welcome party for us, including adult libations, finger food, and pizza. A few days later, our entire group was invited to Roger's home for a festive dinner featuring home-style BBQ brisket, fine wines, and the infamous "Tower of Margaritas". The Snakedance is co-located with the Hondo Restaurant, which was very convenient for our group. I coordinated several Happy Hours with restaurant manager Jason Benedict, and the food and service was outstanding. Our final night featured a long-standing tradition, the "Clean Out the Fridge" party. Mitch graciously allowed us to use the fireplace area in the lobby, and even provided cups, plates, utensils and napkins for us. What a great way to end a great week! We can't wait to return next year, and hopefully many years to come!
