The scenery is beautiful, the price fluctuates greatly, it is worth it within 2000. I added 60 euros to change to a sea view room and breakfast, which is a great deal. The attitude of the service staff is so good, better than a five-star hotel

It's not the tourist season, but you can see the beautiful sea view. The front desk is very enthusiastic and carefully explains Taormina's attractions.

We had the most delightful stay at Hotel Villa Belvedere. The location is wonderful, view is incredible, wonderful rooms and friendly staff. Enjoyed several lunches at the hotel and they were very tasty. Will be back one day for sure. Superb hotel!

Response from Property: Dear Guest,  Thank you for a lovely, concise and very positive revue and for all five out of five Trip Advisor points  that you awarded to us, on each aspect of your stay.   A revue like the one you have been so kind as to publish after your recent happy holiday, gives us all a great sense of satisfaction.   All our teams of dedicated and always courteously friendly staff, too, who work so well together, are of course especially pleased, when guests’ revues are such spontaneously enthusiastic ones, as is yours.  You can be sure that you will be very welcome, indeed. whenever you might decide to return,  and maybe, you too will become one of our very many, often returning and highly esteemed, frequent guests.  Kindest regards,  Cristian Pècaut. Manager.

Location is about a 7 min walk to town. Beautiful pool area with an excellent view of the water. Great staff. Room was on the lower level - lots of mosquitos I am guessing from the open window in the bathroom. It was fine, but a little musty Breakfast was 35 Euro so we opted out of it. Great restaurant nearby- Rosemarino. Near the public gardens. I would come back for the pool but request a better room on a higher level.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, Thank you for your various, very kind comments about  our location, surrounded as it is, by truly beautiful scenery, the pretty pool area and our exceptionally caring staff. Unfortunately from your pen-name, I am unable to understand in which room you stayed, but, had you only mentioned the problems to reception, we would have most certainly taken it in hand and found you other accommodation. We would never wish our guests to be troubled by mosquitos, an unacceptable situation that may have depended on the change in the weather, but it would immediately have been taken care of, if you had only mentioned it to reception staff. Idem for the strange, musty odour you mention. I do most sincerely apologise for your discomfort, but if we are not informed while guests are actually here, clearly, we can do nothing about the situation in question for them. I am pleased that you enjoyed the Rosemarino restaurant, which is among those we reccommend when asked,  but regarding the buffet breakfast that you decided against, but which is actually included when accommodation is booked directly with us, I must say in all honesty, that it is fully worth the cost, more like a morningtime party.  Had you seen what is included, such as, just to mention a few items, all freshly prepared, many and various types of both hot and cold food, including fresh fruit,  and a variety of yoghurts, drinks, juices, beverages, and also certain available items, such as waffles, crêpes, or various types of omelettes, and more, freshly prepared on request.    Breakfasts can be enjoyed either in the original, 1920s, breakfast-room, where the special qualities of the Mediterranean light, and warm sunshine enter through the tall, ogival windows overlooking the gardens, or else outside on the spacious terrace, overlooking the sea, while  complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities are of course, to be found in all our  accommodation, with supplies renewed every day.   We very much hope you will decide to come back, whenever you might like to, not only for our pretty pool with the tall palm tree growing on the tiny island in the centre,  but most of all to discover and enjoy the best of everything while you are here. If only we were told about  anything that does not please guests,  while they are still here, not when it is too late, you can be sure that it would be seen to immediately, and your holiday would be all you hope for – and more !  Kindest regards,  Cristian Pècaut, Manager.

We stayed for 7 nights in this lovely hotel and were celebrating our 30 th wedding anniversary with my husband. We were very pleased that we chose this hotel. The hotel staff was amazing and made they best to make us feel good. During the first breakfast we got a cake from the hotel kitchen, so sweet. The breakfast was lovely with all sicilian delicacies and they also made omelettes and crepes, which were delicious. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Our room was spacious and beautiful. Beds were good and even if I am a light sleeper I slept very well because room was quiet and light blocked with wooden window covers. Aircondition was perfect in hot days and wifi worked well. Pool area was beautiful and not too crowded. Before leaving we were offered cooling drinks, what a lovely surprise from the staff. We would like to give 6 stars out of 5 to this hotel. We have travelled quite a lot and this was something exceptional!!! This is the hotel we definately recommend to all others. We will return here hopefully next year!
Response from Property: Dear Guests, Thank you for having chosen to spend such an important wedding anniversary at Villa Belvedere, where we are of course delighted to know that you enjoyed it so much and for having decided to write down your impressions and have them published on Trip Advisor, accompanied by all five out of five, TA 'points', which are of course very important to us because readers who are looking for the right place either for the holiday they are hoping for, or maybe to celebrate something special as you did, will be very pleased to read your spontaneous and enthusiastic review, that really does reflect everything we all try to include in holiday, especially a special anniversary one, like yours.  Together with my truly dedicated and always courteously friendly and helpful staff, I do thank you for your much appreciated review, and we look forward to welcoming you back again, not only next year, but as often as you would like to return, just as so many of our guests like to do, too. Kindest regards,  Cristian Pècaut, Manager

My family spent five delightful days at Hotel Villa Belvedere this month. We loved it. The location is bursting with charm and five-star views. The ambiance is a mix of old-world elegance and approachable friendliness. It is not glitzy or over done. Our villa suite was amazing. The breakfast was copious. The staff in the restaurant and at the front desk could not do enough for us. While Taormina was teeming with tourists, HVB was the most delightful refuge. I wouldn't change a thing. We all wish we could go back tomorrow.
Response from Property: Dear Guests,  And whenever you do decide to return,  you can be sure of a warm “welcome back ” from us all at Villa Belvedere.   Your description of the ambience here is really quite delightful and while, over the more than a century, that has passed since the hotel first  opened, we have naturally made many important improvements, so as to to keep up to date with guests’ wishes for modern day comfort and well-being, they have all been done, we pride ourselves, with great discretion, maintaining the original atmosphere of elegance that merges well with the courteous friendliness of our truly dedicated teams of staff, on all levels.  Our guests often describe their coming back after a long day’s sightseeing or shopping, as returning to a peaceful haven, just far enough away, from the busy town centre to be reachable  with a short and very pleasant stroll.  Thank you  for the much appreciated, five, Trip Advisor ‘points’ that help keep us among the hotels that TA are most pleased to recommend to their readers and give us the satisfaction of ‘doing things right’  starting the days with our generous and varied buffet breakfasts, and, secretly aided and abetted by kind Mother Nature, who managed to surround us with her ‘five star views’, that you loved.  We very much hope to hear from you again in the not too distant future, when we will of course do our very best to ensure another most enjoyable stay for you.  Kindest regards,  Cristian Pècaut, Manager

This was an amazing holiday. We stayed at the Belvedere for two weeks in July 2024. Our room had its own terrace with sun loungers and a table and chairs and was slightly away from the main hotel and closer to the pool. Everybody was so friendly and helpful, from the people on reception (including the handsome man whose name I didn't catch [I must be slipping], who made the best Limoncello Spritz in Taormina), to Tattiana who cleared up after us in our room every day. The hotel is perfectly situated in Taormina and is close to the bus station, the cable car, the public gardens ,the Piazza IX Aprile, and lots of lovely restaurants. We had breakfast every morning on the terrace with a fantastic view over the bay of Giardini Naxos and there was almost too much to choose from. I'm not sure how I got back into my jeans for the journey home, but I managed it somehow. The food at the pool bar ranged from a cheese and ham toastie, which was gorgeous, to grilled seabass and the best linguine with mussels and clams. Special mentions go to Rita, Leo, Ilenia, Nella, Angelo, Liudmila, Giuseppe, Gabriele and Elena for making our holiday so special. We would not hesitate to go back to this hotel, it's just a matter of finding a date when they can fit us in!

Response from Property: Dear Guest,   What a lovely spontaneous review that you have been so kind as to sit down and write, all  about your recent happy stay in Villa Belvedere and kindly awarding  us all five out of five, TA ‘points’, too ! We do in fact, do our best to live up to all our guests’ hopes and try to ensure the holiday they want.   We are indeed fortunate, as you say, with all the different means of transport near at hand so it is easy to reach the beach lidos, or the intriguing little hill-towns, around Taormina and further afield, and  indeed, practically everywhere in Taormina itself, places of interest, beautiful views, including mighty Mount Etna, to our south, with its fairly frequent and often spectacular activity, is also in full view but at the safe distance offered by Taormina and our property, and in the town centre, the many, very  pleasant bars, plenty of good restaurants, and of course, all the shops, (that are not to miss), that are all easily reachable on foot from Villa Belvedere.  Thank you so much too, on behalf of the truly dedicated and super efficient groups of staff we have gathered over the years, always courteously friendly and helpful where needed. It is very kind of you to remember all the names – except for Sergio’s, who must be the person you mention in particular. It always pleases people to be remembered particularly, and you too would be warmly welcomed back, by everyone here, whenever you might like to return, and enjoy our super breakfasts and lunches,as well as the Limoncello Spritzes at the bar, now and again, (in spite of the risk of extra kilos, but we won’t dwell on those, for now :-) Kindest regards. Cristian Pècaut, Manager.

We visited Villa Belvedere as the final stop on our road trip from Rome to Sicily, and what a fabulous spot to end our journey and take in the sights in the beautiful town of Taormina! Getting to the hotel through Taormina's narrow streets is a little difficult, but once you're there it's definitely worth it. The hotel offers parking for guests, but be aware because parking is at a premium in the town, it is quite expensive at 40 euros a night. On looking around it would have been equally expensive to find parking elsewhere, but it's worth remembering it's an additional cost to your trip. The concierges will park your car for you, as the on-site parking is quite restricted and your car may be parked in secure parking elsewhere. The welcome at the hotel was excellent - the desk staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful and provided us with welcome drinks whilst we checked in. It's a beautiful, villa style building positioned high above the sea, with incredible views along the coast and towards Mount Etna, which was erupting spectacularly during our five nights at the hotel! An amazing sight, although the local people took it all very calmly. Our room was ideal, clean, and well - appointed with a big bathroom, and plenty of hanging space, as well as a small balcony to enjoy the view over the sea and the hotel's pool and gardens. The room was very peaceful, with good air-conditioning, so it was easy to sleep, even though it was very hot when we were there. Breakfast was served either in the breakfast room, or on the small terrace. It's a great spot to enjoy breakfast and coffee whilst enjoying the amazing view, and there was a good selection of items available, or they would cook something to order if you wished. The staff were excellent and very helpful, attentive, and friendly. The hotel doesn't serve dinner, but offers light lunches at the poolside during the day. There is such a lot of choice of places to eat in Taormina that it's good just to walk through the town's streets and alleyways and find something you like - we really enjoyed eating at Mamma Rosa's restaurant, which was in a great spot for people watching and had great food too! There is so much to see and do in and around Taormina, that Villa Belvedere is an ideal spot to stay. It's just a few minutes stroll from the main streets in the town, but gives you a little extra peace to relax in beautiful surroundings. The staff are able to give you suggestions about places to visit and will help you to arrange anything you want to do. We really enjoyed our stay at this fabulous hotel, and we hope to visit again, as we will definitely return to Sicily in the future.
Response from Property: Dear Guest,  You are perfectly right , of course, Taormina is a very beautiful town indeed and in our beloved Villa Belvedere, we do our very best to live up to the beauty of our  town and also, of course to the beauty of Nature that surrounds us, from the expanse of the blue Mediterranean, to the mountains where our mighty Mount Etna stands and quite often offers us its spectacular “shows” that as you say, local people take quite calmly, as it is thought that by its ‘letting off steam’,now and again,m more “important” activity is avoided.    Thank you for pointing out parking fees, because although a car is not really needed for a few days in Taormina because practically everywhere is easily reachable on foot, property is taxed but we do add the benefit of insurance cover, and valets who  take good care of parking guests’ cars efficiently, in a small space, and both our parking lots are monitored by video cameras and checked regularly by reception staff.    Our reception staff, as you discovered are also very knowledgeable  and can answer a very good number of any queries or doubts a guest may have, and offer advice, as well as making any necessary bookings for them.  Good to know, too that you enjoyed our rather special and generous buffet breakfasts, included in our accommodation tariffs, that in fact, you have described so well in your review and you would of course be very welcome whenever you might like to return. As you say, there is always something to see or do and a variety of good entertainment to enjoy at our venerable, Greek-Roman theatre, still in use today, after more than 2000 years’ service to Taormina residents and visitors, alike.  Meanwhile, thank you again for your well written revue and also for your (important to us), full five, Trip Advisor ‘points that you award to us.  Kindest regards,  Cristian Pècaut, Manager.

We decided to return to Villa Belvedere and Taormina and we are happy we did. We had a wonderful vacation thanks to this exceptionally beautiful and welcoming hotel. It has a special atmosphere combining great service with warm friendliness. This boutique hotel has been passed on for generations and is still run by the same family. We loved the breakfast buffet with fresh fruits, various kinds of bread, cakes, Sicilian specialties and even coffee granita. We had lunch by the pool almost every day. One favorite was penne with pesto siciliano, another one was linguine with seafood. We also hade their outstanding tiramisu (almost every day ). The setting is exceptionally beautiful with a great panorama over the bay and the vulcano Etna and there is a private garden where you smell the jasmine flowers and lemon trees (especially in evening). The hotel is next door to the wonderful public garden where we attended a beautiful outdoor music concert for free. We had a great vacation and met some new friends at the hotel. The personell is very welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home. Thank you Belvedere for a great stay!
Response from Property: Dear Guest,  It is always good to read warmly positive reviews such as yours, but especially so, when it is a returning guest who decided to stay again after an enjoyable first stay, and found that everything at Villa Belvedere was just as good as they remember, and their new holiday was alll they had been looking forward to.  Our main aim is in fact, to ensure that our guests are happy here, just as it has been the aim of my family for over a century, now. And although, we have of course made important but very discreetly carried out,  improvements over these years, to ensure our guests’ total well being and satisfaction, the generally welcoming atmosphere is unchanged. You have described everywhere so well, that there is no need for me to underline any particular point, but the fact that you also awarded us the full. five, Trip Advisor ‘points’ on every aspect, -points that Trip Advisor then totals and uses to decide our placing in their list of the hotels in the area that they are happiest to recommend to their readers- is clearly very important to us, too and is naturally very much appreciated.  Thank you so much for your time to write and publish your opinion, and we very much look forward to welcoming you back next time – whenever you might decide that that will be.  Kindest regards,  Cristian Pècaut,  Manager

We loved this hotel! Beautiful, quaint hotel overlooking Taomina Mare. Perfectly located close to everything in town you might want to visit. The staff is wonderful. The breakfasts are delicious. The view is spectacular. The pool area is fabulous - one day we had lunch at the pool- it exceeded expectations. The local wine made it even better! Fully recommend - you won’t be sorry.
Response from Property: Dear Guests,  Thank you for a lovely review that says just about everything that we do our best to provide for all our guests. Thank you, too, for your kind reccommensdations to all Trip Advisor followers who read your words and also for the full five T.A ‘points’ that you have awarded us, on every aspect.  We would love to think we might be able to welcome you back to pretty Taormina, one day, when you can be sure that we would do our very best to ensure an even more enjoyable stay for you.  Kindest regards.  Cristian Pècaut, Manager

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days for our honeymoon in April and it was magical. The staff are so attentive, so helpful in sorting wonderful day trips and ensuring you have a terrific stay. Particularly Joshua who was so helpful in sorting a wonderful hiking trip on Etna with a volcanologist, a boat trip around the bay and a winery visit. The spread of food at breakfast is wonderful and the restaurant by the pool for lunch is perfect! Lovely bedrooms too! Couldn’t recommend this place enough if you are after a stunning relaxing stay. It’s a four star that feels very much like a five!
Response from Property: Dear Guests,  It makes me very pleased indeed to know that your wedded life has got off to a very auspicious start, with the special time that you spent and enjoyed so much, at Villa Belvedere, on your honeymoon. In fact we do have a particular care for couples on their honeymoon and we always do our best, together with our really dedicated staff, on all levels, to ensure that  a honey moon spent at Villa Belvedere, is a memorably enjoyable occasion.  As you discovered, too, there are some very interesting and “different” trips to make locally, such as the special ascent of Etna with a professional vulcanologist,  and the boat trip round the bay, that gives a completely different view than from the land side, and of course the winery, run by our very good, local wine growers, on the particularly fertile  land gifted to us by the eruptions  of Mount Etna, over the centuries, that promotes the growth of the important local grapes, used by the traditional growers, who will be pleased to share their knowledge and describe their methods. Joshua and his colleagues, from our  teams of staff in reception are very knowledgeable about the area, and also about places further afield and they are always happy to chat and to suggest the most interesting places to visit, according to what the guests have in mind, or are curious about. Thank you too for having commented on the food we serve, too,  - we are very proud of the high standards we have reached starting with our very generous and very varied, buffet breakfasts that have now become very popular both with new and with returning guests. With every good wish for your future happiness, and the hope to be able to welcome you back, whenever you might like to return.  Kindest regards,  Cristian Pècaut, Manager.

Absolutely beautiful property and excellent staff! Make sure to get a room with a terrace and you won’t regret it! Only a five minute walk to town and nice long hike down and up to the beach or you can use the cable car. Breakfast was excellent with many options.
