Wyndham Tamarindo

Tis is the first negative review I’ve left but the hotel description was very misleading. Our stay was unfortunately quite disappointing. Positives were the hotel had a great view and the pool and breakfast were excellent. The hotel was not in good shape. It was very run down, both out rooms were not clean on arrival: there was urine on the toilet seat and tons of dirt on the floor, the lock on the patio doors was broken, the safe didn’t work, and the shower railing was loose. On one of the days when we returned to the hotel we had no towels after it had been cleaned and it took several hours for us to get some to shower with - this was surprising as it was off peak and the hotel was quite empty.

Amazing hotel, attentive staff and really amazing views! Thank you for everything, will be back

Wyndham Tamarindo is a beautiful Hotel with a also very beautiful view- offeres free Shuttle service to town. Great food!

Tamarindo is a fun beach town, lots of restaurants and of course the beach. The pros: incredible view, free shuttle to the town, access to the Langosta Beach Club, helpful staff. The cons: location a little far from town, can’t walk it. And the BIG con were the locusts. They were everywhere, especially at night. This are huge (8-10 inch) insects that look like huge grasshoppers. My kids freaked out because these things fly around and land on you sometimes. The Wyndham staff can’t control it, but they are helpful to remove them from your door. If you’re grossed out by large insects, just be aware.

Great hotel

The view from the balcony and pool is amazing although there are a few areas that the hotel could improve. The room aesthetics could improve. There was nowhere to sit but the balcony. No iron/microwave in the room and the closet lacked doors. I understand the decision to serve authentic Costa Rican food at the breakfast buffet but a variety of other foods could make it a bit better and tasteful. It was great to have shuttle transportation and all the drivers were super friendly! If the shuttle ran roundtrip all day that would make it better. It only ran for the first 15 mins of every hour. There were times we were done with our walk in town and had to wait for a good 20 mins for the shuttle.
