3 Star Hotels in Takayama

We departed from Osaka to Takayama late, and chose this hotel because it is located opposite the JR station and Takayama bus station, which is very convenient. The staff was a bit indifferent when checking-in, but I didn't want to talk to you, but English was OK. The hotel room is small and a bit old, the basic facilities are provided, but it is still clean. Our room rate included breakfast. Unexpectedly, the breakfast quality was good. I ordered a Japanese breakfast with fried salmon and alpine famous things, Pu Ye Wei, very delicious and full. The area of Takayama is not very large, so you can visit the main tourist and shopping locations of Takayama City.

Country Hotel Takayama is the perfect home away from home in Takayama, Gifu Japan.This hotel is located right across the Nohi Bus Terminal which is right beside to Takayama Train Station. When you get off from the bus, you will immediately see the building. Aside from their perfect location, this hotel also has a KONBINI (are Japanese convenience stores) Family Mart at the ground floor, open 24 hours. Morning markets, Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, Old Town Street, Hida Kokubunji Temple and Nakabashi bridge are a few tourist location you can easily access by walking (10-15 minutes) from the hotel. I was here last February 24 to 26, 2020. The room is quite spacious for me, got a single room type but I think it can accommodate 2 people in it. I was able to booked it online through Agoda.com for Php 4,024.78, not bad! It has complete basic amenities you can find in a room including a comfy sleeping robe. Room is super clean and smells so good. Considering I wrongly booked the smoking type room. The only downside I had about the room was that the heater was broken. It was so hot inside, thanked God it was winter time so I just slightly opened my window. So cold breeze from the outside can get in. Overall, Country Hotel Takayama is HIGHLY RECOMMEND aside from their perfect location. Staff are very good, speaks English and really helpful and accommodating. Their Manager helped me booked a taxi who is going to picked me up at the highway on my route to Gujo Hachiman. Because taxis in Gujo Hachiman are booked a day before your arrival and they don’t speak English at all. And If you’re a Filipino, you are most likely going to bumped into one of our kababayan who is working on this hotel. So far, she’s the only Pinoy here and she speaks Bisaya, from Davao City. The hotel is only 1 block across the JR station with many restaurants around the area, less than 10 minutes leisure walk to the historic area. Room is very well maintained and spacious, with comfortable beddings, strong showers. The hotel is very responsive with my emails and questions, I feel that they are really trying their best to accomodate my request with occupant change that we really appreciate. Breakfast is adequate with a good selection of hot dishes, Japanese and continental. Overall a great hotel in Takayama

Just returned from a 12 day tour Treasures of Japan with Mercury Holidays, we stayed at this hotel for two nights, excellent hotel very clean and comfortable with everything you needed for your stay, you can enjoy the hot spring baths the ladies and gentlemen go separately as no clothing is worn, breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice, staff very friendly and helpful, the hotel runs a shuttle service into Takayama you are given a time table on arrival, a supermarket is just over the road from the hotel, we enjoyed full days sightseeing around Takayama with our guide Inage, enjoyed our stay would definitely recommend this hotel.

I used it on my trip to Gifu. The location is very close to Takayama Station, a 15-minute walk, and even if you come by car, there are many paid parking lots nearby, and there is also a contracted parking lot for the facility, so it is very good (contracted parking requires a reservation). Also, in the lounge room, there is a drink bar, barista (coffee maker), microwave oven, stove, etc. For example, you can buy a lunch box at a convenience store and heat it and eat it. In addition, this facility can be entered and exited 24 hours a day, so you can always go to nearby convenience stores and facilities. It's a very good place, so I think I'll be traveling to Gifu next month, so I'd like to use it.

Muro-San and everyone is very friendly and helpful. They make you feel good and happy. The housekeeper was helpful too.
