The Gaia Hotel Taipei

The lobby is a homey looking place, where a library (of sorts) as the centerpiece. Visitors or guests can chill on the comfy sofa and read or book (or two). There is even a children's corner. We were warmly greeted as we were ushered to the reception upon arrival. The friendly warm smiles of the concierge and receptionist was appreciated. Although we had booked via Expedia, we were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded (from the Qiyan room - 33 sqm to the Fenglin room - 36 sqm). The room was spacious and luxurious: the fixtures were relatively new, so that was a plus, especially with the complimentary Hermes toiletries, snacks, drink and deep soak tub. Book lovers rejoice as the main feature of the hotel's lobby is a very big open concept library, filled with booked from floor to ceiling, which you can borrow. The room was really spacious, luxurious and clean. The complimentary Hermes toiletries, snacks, drink and deep soak tub were a big plus. The only thing missing was the view from the room but everything else made up for it. There was plenty of welcome (complimentary) drinks and snacks which are replenished each day; perfect for that session in the ensuite hotspring tub, or after an exciting day out and about exploring. The free minibar consisted of imported mineral water, sparkling water, and juices. The little snacks (such as cookies and puddings) are made freshly by the chefs daily. The room in general was well maintained and the bath spacious - the perfect place to wind down after a whole day of sightseeing and walking. The bathroom area is separated into wet and dry ensuite hotspring tub, and a bidet toilet. Overall, it was an enjoyable and pleasant stay. It would have been better if there was more signage on where to wait for the shuttle to the MRT station. The interior decor was pleasant and cleanliness maintained. Most of the staff did an excellent job and enhance the stay experience further. It is an ideal place for rest, relaxation and pampering (from the hassle and busyness of life). We definitely enjoyed ourselves, and would want to visit again! What stood out was the incredible service and attentiveness of the staff. They were thoughtful, and made us feel welcome. My iPhone charging cable had died on me and the reception staff loaned me one (with a smile). Checkout was also a superb experience: we had requested for hotel transport to the airport for our morning flight, and we were pleasantly surprised with a take away breakfast set before departure. It was a nice gesture. My only gripe would be the clarity and timing of the free shuttle to the MRT station. There was no clear signage and no one told us were to wait. So we waited at the lobby, only to realize we had missed the shuttle.

Aloft Taipei Beitou

I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxed and easy quarantine stay. The hotel is located a bit out of downtown, which is ideal, as I was able to have a Guandu view room with a double bed, which helped. The room had a lovely big window, which enabled me to have a good wake up every day. The quality of the service was excellent. Check-in easy, continued service through the stay no issue. I connected to the reception staff through Line in English, and they were really helpful, sending refills of whatever was asked for. The room itself at 29sqm was great, nicely and colorfully decorated. There is plenty of space to hide away the luggage. Also, there was enough room to relax and exercise, and there were several days I was able to get up to 10,000 paces on my Fitbit. This, followed by a great and refreshing shower, worked a treat. Overall the bathroom was excellent. The often asked question is what about the food, but I have no complaints, while I am British, I love the local food. We had the Bento selection, and the quality was good. Breakfast was a seven-day cycle, and the lunch and dinner were on a fourteen-day cycle. Yes, the dishes were similar a couple of times, but the portion size was good, so I had to work on the exercise to keep the weight off. The internet was no issue, and I could have several Zoom meetings during my stay. Steaming music worked well. I am not a TV watcher and so can not comment on the channel selection. So after a busy day, I was ready for a good night's sleep, and again this was no issue a very comfortable bed, which enabled me to wake up refreshed for another day. I am not sure if I will need to stay in a quarantine hotel in the future, but I know I would certainly book this hotel again. Thank you to all the staff who made the experience actually enjoyable.

The staff at the counter were very kind when we entered the door. Since we are vegetarians, they were very considerate about the vegetarian options on the breakfast rolls. The room still felt like home. I have been to Beitou Hot Springs and I still like this one. Quandu Transportation is right next door to the building downstairs. It’s very relaxing to soak in the convenience store and supermarket hot springs

The hotel front desk staff are attentive and provide charging cable loan service. The room is spacious and comfortable, and I particularly like the long workbench, which is convenient for placing items. The bathroom has enough space and is worth praising. But the location is a bit far away, it takes 20 minutes to get to Taipei Main Station by car.

Pretty decent location and condition for this price. The only defect is probably the check-in procedure. The first step is to contact the staff via Line, which the QR code is above the number lock at the entrance and I saw a couple of people not being aware of it, then provide with them a photo of your passport. After that, you’ll get two sets of passcodes, one for the main entrance and another one for the box storing your keycards. The procedure is alright if you understand written Chinese, and preferably speak Mandarin, but definitely hard if you are neither.

I had such a wonderful experience during my stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality. The room was not only impeccably clean and comfortable but also elegantly designed, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel's amenities were top-notch, providing everything I needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The location was perfect, offering convenient access to nearby attractions and restaurants. I was particularly impressed by the outstanding customer service I received throughout my stay. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that all my needs were met promptly and with a friendly attitude. I cannot recommend it enough and will definitely be returning on my next visit. Thank you for making my stay truly memorable!”

After clearing customs in Macau, my first choice was to travel to Taiwan with my family. Taiwan’s scenery is still beautiful, the food is delicious, and ********* people remain hospitable and polite! On the first day of this trip, we immediately went from the airport to Beitou and stayed in a hot spring hotel for one night. During the Christmas tourist season, I met people from Hong Kong and Macao everywhere in Beitou, which was very friendly. The hotel is in a very good location, opposite scenic spots, parks, many convenience stores and restaurants nearby, and close to the MRT station. I stayed in a family quadruple room with my mother and two daughters. The room is spacious and the bathroom has a separate hot spring bath. It would be best if you place an auxiliary stepping chair in the bathroom in advance, because the shower area is the same as the hot spring pool. The location is very high and the pool is very deep. It is too inconvenient to get in and out of the pool. The TV remote control does not work well, and Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+ channels cannot be viewed. The check-in time was set at 18:00. I arrived in Taiwan on an early morning flight and arrived in Beitou at 13:30. With young children, I could only spend some time at the 7-11 downstairs of the hotel and the park opposite. The front desk staff was very nice, storing my luggage and arranging my arrangements. After checking in, I was given coupons for lunch, dinner and breakfast, and I was allowed to check in early at 17:00. I ate in the hotel restaurant. There was a children's playroom next to the restaurant. Although the place was small, my daughter had a great time. The front desk clerk helped me make reservations for restaurants in Taipei and called us a taxi out of Taipei. It was a great hospitality and I will stay here again. The ideal check-in time is 15:00. 😁

Although the hotel is relatively old, it is tidy and clean overall. The housekeeping staff are very good and enthusiastic 👍 Various service functions include breakfast, parking, Carrefour shopping, and laundry. A waitress at the front desk of the breakfast restaurant is very warm and polite when greeting guests, and the staff is also very active and efficient👍 The only drawback is that there is a female waitress at the front desk on the first floor who has a cold attitude and bad tone. The rest of the staff are very polite but lack the smile + enthusiasm of the service industry... The working mentality is understandable, but it would be better if we can increase the warmth of the service!
