Stayed for 8 nights. Decent hotel with great location. Surrounded by restaurants, cafes and many convenient stores! Room size is big, suitable for family. There is also a great park with nice playground near the hotel. Kid had a great time playing at the park.

GRAND HILAI TAIPEI

Although the hotel is located in the shopping mall and exhibition hall area, the location is a bit far for tourists. Taipei Grand Hi Lai Hotel opened in early October. Decided to give the hotel a try. The service and grand hotel style are very good. The hotel lobby is very large. The lobby and elevator lobby are all equipped with Marble floors, high floors, and artwork complement the design of the era. I was surprised by the spaciousness of the room, which was much larger than a normal hotel room. The design is simple and luxurious, with floor-to-ceiling large glass windows😎 and electric curtains The room faces the railway station, city view, mountain view, and the landscape is open😊 The bathroom also uses marble flooring Matching the marble style of the hotel👍🏻👍🏻 The nearby MRT station exit is only a few minutes walk away. There are convenience stores nearby if you need supplies, so buy them first. However, when checking in, the front desk informed that non-alcoholic drinks are available for free in the mini bar🤭🤭 There are several types: soda, sports drinks, apple juice, sparkling water😌 Taking an Uber, I discovered that the local driver didn’t even know this restaurant existed 😂😂. Really new 😄 Next time I go to Taipei, I will stay at Grand Hi Lai Hotel again😌😌

My wife and I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. We took the hotel 10-seater van (after breakfast) and small bus (after dinner) down to the city twice to tour the city and visit the hot spot tourist traps. We walked down to the nearby convenience store the first night to stock up on drinks (recommended). We tried the in-room hot spot twice as well as the public in-door hot spot once. We also tried the a la carte (recommended) as well as the set course meal (over priced) at the hotel restaurant. The free breakfast buffet is decent. Finally, we swam at the pool (right next to the public in-door hot spot) and tried the Mario cart-like racing and zombie killing VR games (free for one play each hotel guest per day). The hotel staff are courteous and professional, and their smiles are very welcome. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our stay and hope to come back one day.
THE MIRAMAR GARDEN TAIPEI

Zhongxiao Dunhua Commercial Circle
Booked 3-person room but wasn’t happy with the condition. Requested to check out immediately since no bed was allowed to be added, and were told that all the 4-person room was sold out. Taipei was our last stop so we wanted a good ending and we needed a room for three nights stay. Spoke to the FO manager who reluctantly but finally offered an one bedroom suite. The room was spacious and bright. We were happy and appreciative initially but their beds and couches were believed to be full of dust mite. We were suffering from severe insect bites, esp our 4 years old son (whom photos can be provided later). Quite a disappointment despite the hotel was newly refurbished and centrally located. The hot spring is only open for 16 years old and above so the hotel isn’t family oriented.
Villa 32

The service, food, hot spring tub were excellent and the staff was very attentive. The only thing I wish could have been better is the outlets to plug my phone into. We couldn’t find one in the bedroom/sleep quarters (Japanese tatami). So make sure to bring a portable charger if you don’t want to be away from your phone. Another advice would be more of a treat if they provided a face mask and sleep wear. The reason I’d suggest this is because another competitor hotel of theirs provided very considerate toiletries for the ladies and I think that was a HUGE plus for me considering we spent a lot of money for one night. Anyways, overall villa 32 is great if you just want to spend a few hours to relax.

Taipei: A Blend of Tradition and Modernity

Taipei offers a unique mix of the traditional and the contemporary. Known for its bustling night markets, towering skyscrapers, and rich cultural heritage, Taipei is a city that never sleeps. It's a place where you can savor mouthwatering street food, explore ancient temples, and marvel at cutting-edge architecture, all in a single day.

Journeying to Taipei

Taipei is served by Taoyuan International Airport, the largest airport in Taiwan, located about 40 km from the city center. The city is also easily accessible by high-speed rail from other parts of Taiwan. In the city, the Taipei MRT (metro) provides efficient and easy transportation.

The official currency is the New Taiwan Dollar (TWD), and Mandarin Chinese is the primary language. English is taught in schools, so younger locals and those in the tourism industry generally speak it.

Most nationalities can enter Taiwan visa-free for tourism purposes for stays up to 90 days, but always check the latest visa information before your trip.

Must-Visit Attractions in Taipei

Start your Taipei adventure with a visit to the iconic Taipei 101, once the world's tallest building, offering stunning panoramic city views. Explore the historic temples of Taipei, including the beautiful Longshan Temple.

Savor Taipei's renowned street food at Shilin Night Market, one of the city's biggest and most famous night markets. For culture enthusiasts, a visit to the National Palace Museum, home to one of the largest collections of Chinese imperial artifacts, is a must.

Weather & Best Time to Visit Taipei

Taipei has a humid subtropical climate, with temperatures ranging from 16°C in winter to 34°C in summer. The best times to visit are during spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November) when the weather is pleasant and rainfall is less frequent. As sudden showers are common, it's always wise to carry an umbrella.

Choosing Your Hotel in Taipei

Taipei offers accommodations for every kind of traveler. For a luxury stay in a bustling district, consider the W Taipei in Xinyi, just a stone's throw from Taipei 101. History enthusiasts might appreciate a hotel in the old-town Datong district, such as the charming DG Hotel.
