Citizen Hotel

The hotel is about a 7-minute walk from Dongmen Station. There's also a 7-Eleven just a 2-minute walk away, so the location is pretty good. The room gets a lot of sunlight, but since it faces east, the morning sun is super bright. Make sure to draw the curtains, or you'll be woken up by it. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but the staff are all very friendly. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, and the sheets were changed daily. The soundproofing in the room is also good; I never heard any noise from next door.

This hotel is conveniently located near MRT Dongmen Station, with popular attractions like Yongkang Street, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, and Dongmen Market all within walking distance. While the building itself is a bit old, the interior is newly renovated and very clean. The staff were all incredibly friendly. The breakfast, though not extravagant, was thoughtfully prepared, and I didn't get tired of it even after a 7-day stay.

Years ago, I often stayed at this hotel when I visited Taipei because I loved the food at Dongmen Market. After many years, I returned and found that the room had been renovated. However, in the entire room, there was only one power outlet by the desk against the wall, and no outlets on either side of the bed. For the digital age, it's common to use your phone in bed, but not being able to charge it is a real shame and a significant drawback. The breakfast, as always, was delicious; although there weren't many options, the taste was excellent.

The hotel rooms are new and the double room we stayed in was spacious. They offer valet parking. The breakfast spread was excellent. It's close to Yongkang Street and Taipei 101, making transportation very convenient. My top choice for a trip to Taipei!

Even though I requested a room away from the elevator, I was still assigned the first room right next to it. I could hear the elevator noise outside my door. Free breakfast was included, but I didn't get a chance to try it. I might give it a shot if I ever come back.
