Charming Castle Hotel

A very old hotel Really time to refurbished

I stay in hotels almost every week as part of my job. There is nothing ‘charming’ about the charming castle hotel. It needed to be closed down and renovated 40 years ago. The bed was clean but the room was smelly, dirty, dusty and old. The blind was attached by Velcro and falling off. No plug sockets near the bed and just one in the room! The roof had water stains, the light switches, which clearly used to be white, are now yellow, the tiles and walls are peeling and everything is falling apart. I don’t expect luxury for 3 stars but I’ve had 10x better for 3* hotels in the past. I’d rate this as 1.5* at most. Absolutely not worth £103 a night. Rip off. Do not book.

Very nice hotel with comfortable room and very good for travelers. Very convenient location in Taipei.

Nice hotel & when late back hotel, there is seafood restaurant opposite the hotel. We love the mini bar & free gifts! Thank you.

The room smells musty. I am expecting a decent breakfast but I am disappointed.

Bathroom is almost half size of the room. Is kind of old hotel. Room a bit smelly. Air con sound also quite loud.

Good beds, spacious rooms (especially the bathroom) but old and damp place (with unpleasant smell). The breakfast was cold fries with hamburger (a bit strange) although they were prepared to change the breakfast for the next day but we had to leave before 8am. People at the reception were friendly and tried to accommodate , but when I asked to keep my luggage stored for a few days, it wasn't possible.

Good location but limited parking space. Front desk not so welcoming. The room is spacious but a little bit creepy. There is a jacuzzi but not working, it’s just for display. Bed and pillows are soft and comfortable. The breakfast is packed burger with tetra pack milk tea. I may not consider booking this hotel again.

The bathroom wasn’t very clean but overall it’s ok. Location is 15 mins walk from the train station.
