The facilities are complete and the service is friendly. You can go back to the hotel directly after shopping at the outlet in the evening, which is very convenient. You can also stay in the hotel to enjoy the spa or parent-child facilities. Both adults and children can be satisfied.

The service staff is friendly. When I called to ask about parking issues, the staff at the check-in counter were very patient and explained 👍 We stayed in Zhaoyin's 4-person room that day. As soon as we entered the room, the child saw a foreign object stuck on the bed. Later, he saw clay on the floor that was suspected to be left by the previous guest. Moreover, the room did contain mold as mentioned by other reviews. Originally, it was a plus to see a dehumidifier in the room, but as soon as I pulled back the quilt, I saw the down feathers flying all over the sky. My daughter, who has allergies, also wore a mask in the room all night. After booking, I received a confirmation letter. The usage hours of the facilities on the letter did not match the ones on site, so we did not bring swimsuits. The child was very disappointed. After breakfast, we went to the top floor at about 9:40 to borrow a billiard ball, but the staff told us that it would be available at 10 o'clock sharp. Borrowed, so we left first. When we went back at 55 minutes, the billiard ball had been borrowed, and the borrowing time was 9:42. The child was disappointed again😩 The breakfast is quite satisfactory, with Western and Chinese options to choose from. The service staff will help clear the plates on the table👍 and are always replenishing the meals👍
Howard Prince Hotel Taichung

Location is quite a distance from the city centre. Need to walk 10-15min to find local shops and eateries. Just across the hotel got a good-size supermarket. Bought local fruits for breakfast. No malls, night markets or shopping areas nearby. Room is spacious but rather old that needs upgrading. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good but selection rather limited. No yogurt and limited selection of fruits. Overall a reasonable good stay.

The location is not far from downtown Taichung. The service is pretty good, but the hygiene level is pretty good. The smell of the whole room is quite strange and cannot be described. The facilities should be considered okay. After all, I didn’t bring a swimsuit. So I haven't been to the public pools. I just soaked in the hot springs in the house. The natural water that came out when I brushed my teeth was a little dirty (small particles and stones). I don't know if it was stream water. Overall, it was pretty good for the price. It's acceptable. It's just that some fragrances and essential oils can be added to the smell of the room.

Would like to highlight an issue we encountered with regards to our deposit and certain charges that were made to us but which we had not incurred. When we were checking out, we asked to have a look at our statement of charges as we understood that any additional charges would be offset by the deposit placed with the hotel. We had dinner at ”The Prime -Grill and Lounge” on one of the nights and just wanted to check if the charges were right. The statement showed 3 separate bills that were not incurred by us and were all purchases of alcohol, which we found strange. When we brought this up with the front desk, the staff did not seem surprised at all with the error or sought to verify the same anywhere nor were we given any apology for the mistake. It was as though she already knew that those 3 charges were unanauthorised transactions and said that the hotel would rectify the issue with the bank in respect of our deposit. The front desk was also very adamant to not let us speak to her manager about the issue. We just wanted to highlight the above because we would usually just trust the hotel to refund the right amount of deposit without checking, especially when using credit card to pay the same. But it may be worth checking when it comes to this hotel as based on the reaction which we got from the front desk, it seems that such mistakes whether intentional or not have happened before. We also hope that the hotel would do some sort of investigation into how issues like this could happen.
