The room was poorly maintained (window wouldn't shut, a number of broken items) and was really dusty and dirty. The carpet especially was filthy. The hotel was really noisy. You can definitely hear pub patrons until after closing time. The lift rarely worked, so if you're not up to flights of of stairs, probably give it as miss.

Amazing location for business travellers. Very cheap for this area, but you get what you pay for. Have low expectations and you will be right. I plan to go back.

The hotel facilities are old and resemble the decoration style of the 1960s and 1970s. There is a bar downstairs which is very noisy at night. The windows cannot be closed and the carpet has a musty smell. I don't know how long it has been since it was washed. The public restroom is quite clean. The only advantage is that it is convenient to go anywhere in the city center.

No matter how bad I booked an accommodation, I tried to sleep because it was a waste of money, but here I checked in and left as soon as I saw the room, money and all. There is no such thing as basic cleanliness, and it is at the level of giving out an old room that has not been touched by humans. It is also criticized for listing this as an accommodation on the app for an accommodation that is not even as good as a cheap hostel. I'm so mad at getting this money, I can't sleep even if I just go to sleep. The worst accommodation I've ever stayed in. Please don't waste your money.

It was nice to be near the Opera House. Because they are very friendly people feels good. I had a chicken sandwich and beer. The food was good because it was prepared with care and not expensive.

Very run down and basic. My room had stains, wet carpet and a sink that got water everywhere and the shared bathrooms and showers aren't in the best conditions at all. I didn't feel comfortable using them and then had to wait a while to have a shower. The lift was hard to use so we mainly used the stairs, which is not great if you have luggage and mobility issues. The staff were lovely though and the location is brilliant.

After a 9hr international flight I came to try and acquire a room for the night. I must admit I came two hours before check in in the hope of checking early which was (somewhat understandly) denied. However the staff here were disinterested and hardly compassionate. The manner and tone of the man (who I assume was manager) who interacted with could be described as gruff and demeaning. Having come from Asia were friendliness and quality customer service is the norm at hotels 1 tenth of the price of The Grand, I found this off putting and soured my stay. The room itself was clean and basic though sufficient for a few nights rest but a smile, some hospitality and a warm welcome could have made my stay so much better.
