It is indeed a century-old luxury hotel built by British colonists. It shows aristocratic temperament everywhere, low-key atmosphere, thoughtful and meticulous service. The black brother guides you to a special living room for check-in, and sends you wet wipes and lemonade. The back garden of the hotel is facing the waterfall bridge. The most wonderful thing is to enjoy the mist rising from the waterfall while drinking English afternoon tea.

Better than expected, the room is not very new, but it is not as bad as expected, and the price is very reasonable.
The room is not big, and two large chairs block the balcony door, making it necessary to turn sideways to enter and exit the balcony. Not a big problem.
The bathroom is spacious, but the bathtub has to be climbed in and out, and it leaks easily. There is no hair dryer and the bath water is not big.
I didn't have breakfast, but I guess the basics are there. There is a free shuttle bus in the town that can go to the entrance of Waterfall Park. You can also contact a taxi yourself or call one from the hotel. . They still want to charge me 6 dollars, even though the market price is 5 dollars.
The hotel pick-up fee was NT$30, and later I found a driver myself for NT$25. And the hotel bill must be checked clearly. I obviously only booked airport pick-up, but the taxi bill charged me 60, which is quite shameful!

Despite the price was a tad steep, everything was excellent during our trip. The driver of free shuttle service was so attentive to introduce each stop snd reminded the pick up time on our way to Victoria Falls. Room itself was small yet clean with spectacular waterhole view. Shortfall was our room was too far from the waterhole itself. Nonetheless their service and breakfast were of top notch and view from the restaurant was unbeatable.

Bedbugs. Along with several people who travelled with me, I am not enjoying the aftermath of rooms with bedbugs. We thought they were mosquito bites at first, but the grouping and large discoloured red areas on the skin are caused by bedbugs. The heat and extreme itch are more severe than symptoms connected to mosquito bites.

The hotel is located a few hundred meters away from the business district, there is a small parking lot, and breakfast can be ordered in addition to regular food. The environment in the hotel is beautiful. As long as you are willing, you can make contact with animals without any distance. The hotel has rich functional areas and is clearly divided.

GGuest UserThe lodge is nice and has potential but we were disappointed by many things. We booked this trip before covid in 2020 and payed the full price. We had to postpone the trip (but the price stayed the same) and when we came in 2022 the service had changed a lot: - No more hourly shuttle to Vic Falls city (and the lodge is 15mins away by car from the city. We had to pay taxis which are 10$ one way). We had booked this lodge because it was in the nature but allowed us to be in Vic Falls whenever we wanted thanks to the shuttle. It was not the case. - No more laundry service, free mini bar, high tea, cocktails, guided tour of the property, massages... After asking for it to the management, some of the services were provided after 1 day but we did not feel it was normal to pay for something we did not get. As it was our honeymoon, we asked for a room with a view on the waterhole but we were the furthest room from it. Also Vic falls safari lodge has a much nicer view on the waterhole. Globally the service is very slow (especially during meals) but they are nice.
GGuest UserHotel booked for a trip to Big Paul
It's seven months different from Africa, but it's so hard.
The amenities brand was um... unfortunately, but I didn't care.
The water quality of the pool was also good, but it was just good to lie on the sunbed
It's a distance from the airport, but it's relatively close to Big Paul National Park and famous cafes, so I think it was okay.
We stayed here for the final 2 nights of a 16 day safari, and it was the perfect way to end our trip. After days of sleeping in a tent, we were treated to plush beds, a hot rain shower with great water pressure, delicious (and adorable) food and drinks, and out of this world customer service. There was also a giant bath tub in the room, although we didn’t end up using it. A huge thank you up top to Thandeka, who works at the front desk. Say hi to her from Will and Laura if you visit. I hadn’t known that I would be proposing to my [now] fiancée until we were sitting at the hotel restaurant on our first evening there. The ambiance from the entry way to the room itself was incredibly relaxing, which is exactly what we needed. After I made the decision, one of the restaurant staff covertly gave me Thandeka’s personal (!) cell phone number to make the arrangements. After I texted her what I was hoping to do, Thandeka absolutely ran with it, creating a moment I never could have (and managed to keep it a secret from my significant other, which was incredibly difficult). The details are below, but basically I cannot recommend this place enough, primarily due to the legendary hotel staff. TLDR; Thandeka arranged for us to have a sunset cruise with Zambezi Vista, which came with a four course meal, an open bar, and more incredible customer service. On board, the captain (his name is Evidence) acted as the ultimate wingman, separating my fiancée and me long enough to give me flowers (also arranged by Thandeka), set up a cake, and get the champagne ready. He also filmed our moment. Once we got back to the hotel, Thandeka had arranged for another bottle of champagne in our room, more flowers, and a hand written note of congratulations.
GGuest UserLokuthula Lodges are amazing!! We stayed for four nights as part of our trip to Zimbabwe and had the most fabulous time. The rooms were clean and comfortable and it was wonderful to see the wildlife so close to the lodges. The beds were very comfy, we had the best sleep and it was lovely wakening up to the sound of the animals. The Lodges are an easy walk to the main Vic Falls Safari lodge where we had the most delicious breakfast with an amazing view, and a stay at Lokuthula wouldn't be complete without visiting the Boma Dinner and Drum Show with its delicious food, and fun and lively entertainment. Lokuthula Lodges exceeded our expectations and we only wish that we could have had more time there. We would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff who were so friendly and helpful, they helped to make our stay at Lokuthula a most memorable one.
AAP3The Azambezi Hotel in Zimbabwe's Victoria Falls is an exceptional destination that exceeded my every expectation. From the moment I arrived at the property, I was struck by its stunning beauty and tranquil atmosphere. The hotel is set in a lush garden, with a gorgeous view of the Zambezi River, and is just a short distance from the world-famous Victoria Falls.
The rooms at the Azambezi Hotel are beautifully decorated, with all the modern amenities you could want. Each room has its own private balcony or patio, with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in the decor, which reflected the local culture and history, without sacrificing comfort or luxury.
The hotel's staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure that my stay was a memorable one. Whether it was arranging for transportation to the falls or suggesting local activities and attractions, they were always available and eager to help.
The food at the Azambezi Hotel was truly exceptional. The restaurant offered a wide range of delicious local and international cuisine, and the presentation was always impeccable. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which featured a variety of fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Finally, the hotel's location was simply unbeatable. With its proximity to the Victoria Falls, I was able to explore the area easily and take in all the breathtaking natural beauty of this world wonder. The hotel also offers a range of activities, from river cruises to guided tours of the falls, ensuring that there was always something to do and see.
In summary, the Azambezi Hotel is an outstanding destination that I would recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable experience in Zimbabwe's Victoria Falls. With its beautiful setting, exceptional service, and top-notch amenities, it truly exceeded my every expectation.
Also if you are lucky you will see some animals roaming around the garden as I spotted this elephant at night in the car park!
GGuest UserWe went to Shoestrings on a 3-day trip to Vic Falls in September, and would definitely go back! Food and drink were tasty and very reasonably priced and considerably cheaper than any other restaurants we visited in the town. We stayed in one of the 2-bed tents, which was perfect for what we needed and included a working fan, which was needed on warm nights. All of the staff were so helpful when booking trips and activities, including an airport transfer, which made the whole visit much easier. I would definitely recommend it. There was also a really fun atmosphere on the weekends and a lovely chilled-out vibe during the days if you want to take some time off and lounge around the pool.
KKobe & KyleThe Hostel grounds themselves and the tent was very clean. We just did not realize that by booking a “double room” that it was actually a tent. The provided fan was nice and kept us cool in the evening and pool kept us clean during the day.
The location though is a bit outside of the town center though so you either need a car or to call a taxi to get anywhere.
The restaurant onsite was okay, but it wasn’t explained to us that occasionally they have a special BBQ and you can’t order anything else from the menu. If we knew that at the time, we would have stopped at the market and self catered.
But the staff was all lovely and helpful.
VviccationtravelThank you for the hosting. thank savannah adventures booking desk for the excursions and transfers. clean pool... clean rooms. and a wonderful group of staff that assisted us. KKKK and we enjoyed the company of notorious animals around the compound ... the place really feels natural and relaxing aswelll
We stayed here due to the really positive reviews and competitive pricing. In reality, from a westerner’s perspective, we felt the option was clean and safe. The staff were welcoming and helpful. However, the rooms were basic - the lack of profile photos featuring them (instead notice the high proportion of photos featuring the attractive outside space) was clearly for a reason. The property requires a taxi ride into and back from the central area ($5-10 per journey), which makes the option more expensive for anyone without their own transport.
