Marula Lodge

Walter is an excellent host - very welcoming and gave great recommendations on where to eat and other places to visit. My only small neg is the room diffuser was very overpowering and I had to remove it from the room.

We stayed for one night at Marula Lodge whilst touring the Garden Route in March 26. I wish we had stayed longer. The guest house was spotlessly clean in lovely surroundings. Walter, our host was friendly and very helpful with advice on local attractions and restaurants. The area seemed safe to walk around both day and night. We opted to have breakfast at the lodge which was very good value. We would definitely stay again.

Excellent, perfect garden. Nice host. Near pic e pay and near restaurants. Very nice pool and in the morning nice breakfast

The owner was an exceptional host, informing us of places to eat in town ( excellent choice 😉), places to see when we left and the best way to travel. We visited everywhere you suggested and thank you immensely for your advice.

We stayed for two nights at Marula Lodge. Our experience was very good. Nice rooms and a central location. Walter was giving us some great tips and information. We had the absolute best meat on our two week vacation in South Africa at the restaurant De Vagebond in Swellendam. We also went for a hike in the Marloth nature reserve

First stop on our Garden Route trip and first time in Swellendam. Walter and his team were just perfect hosts. From reception to departure and in between, we felt at home and enjoyed every bit of this lovely guest house and this calm historic town. A place to return to for sure.
