Looks modern at first glance with nice decor, however after spending three nights there I noticed the chipped bathroom tiles and large crack in the wardrobe mirror. Comfy bed but the bathroom was so small that when the door was opened it hit the toilet, and there was nowhere at all to hang your towel. The walls are thin and you can hear the street and corridor noise very easily. Patchy unreliable wi-fi. Nice staff and the food was mostly pretty good. However one morning there were a lot of flies and it was disgusting to see some crawling over the breakfast buffet. A la carte took a long time.

Very good location and friendly staff. Rooms are very very small. The rooms and beds are clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. You can walk to all the touristy areas which is the best feature of this hotel. It was nice to have a small porch since the rooms are so small.

Make sure you ask for an outside facing room. Most rooms face inwards towards each other and the corridor. You can hear everything in the coutmrttards and corridors due to the layout and magnified acoustics. Ear plugs a must. Beds ok, pillow fine. Day 1, no toiletries or hot drinks. Day 2 no hot drinks. Hairdryer but no mirror other than in bathroom. Room reset but floor not cleaned as still sand everywhere. Breakfast was brilliant

This was my second stay at the Plaza Hotel and I was once again struck by the fact that the rooms are so beautiful and spacious. The hotel is walking distance to the cbd, the beach and many restaurants. Breakfast is good value for money too. Safe underground parking available.
