Choosing the Shangri-La for my trip to Suzhou was definitely the right decision. The hotel is located in the new district, yet it's very close to Shiquan Street in the old city, just a 10-15 minute taxi ride away. This made it convenient to experience both sides of Suzhou. Shiquan Street, especially on a summer evening, has a wonderful vibe with the plane tree shadows and the lights from the small shops – perfect for taking pictures. Returning to the hotel, I could immediately switch back to modern comfort: strong air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, and excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff are generally well-trained and offered sound advice when I asked for directions or restaurant recommendations. The pool and gym have long operating hours, which is great for morning or evening workouts. While the buffet breakfast wasn't spectacular in terms of variety, it was fresh and hygienic, with the fruit and yogurt sections being promptly refilled. One thing to note is that the lobby can get a bit crowded on weekends, but overall, it's well-organized. All in all, this hotel meets practical travel needs without feeling impersonal. Shiquan Street and the Shangri-La, one old and one new, together formed my complete impression of Suzhou in the summer.
I've booked this Shangri-La hotel in Suzhou Industrial Park for my colleagues several times, and thanks to Yvonne's thoughtful care, everything is always perfectly arranged. She even assigned adjoining rooms when she found out we were traveling together for work. The underground parking is very convenient, and the rooms are quite new with a fresh, modern design. Everywhere you go in this Shangri-La, you're greeted with beautiful flowers. The service here is excellent too; every staff member I encounter is always smiling. Plus, this Shangri-La is located in the business hub of the Industrial Park, so the location is simply impeccable.
