Family-friendly Hotels in Suzhou

Here’s a draft for your review: --- I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was very cozy, offering a warm and comfortable atmosphere. While the facilities are a bit old, they are surprisingly well-maintained, which added to the charm of the experience. The hotel itself has a classic feel, giving off a sense of timeless elegance that sets it apart from modern, cookie-cutter accommodations. It’s a great choice for those who appreciate a blend of comfort and vintage aesthetics. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone seeking a relaxed and nostalgic stay.

The lady at the front desk was very nice. She took the initiative to help upgrade the room and gave me breakfast. The room was spacious and bright, the windows could be opened, the air was fresh, the facilities in the room were quite new, and the carpet in the room was also very clean. The hair dryer was actually a Dyson. There were many kinds of breakfast, which was very rich. The Chinese restaurant on the first floor had very good quality dishes and high cost performance. It was said to be a restaurant that locals liked. The hotel was also in a good location, not far from the subway. And it was very convenient to go anywhere in Gusu District. The most grateful thing was that the hotel took the initiative to call to inform me of the charger that was left behind, and helped to express it to me for free. Thank you very much. I will definitely recommend friends who travel to Suzhou to stay in this hotel. I will definitely continue to choose this hotel when I go to Suzhou in the future.

Good location with a nice and modern shopping mall just a traffic light away. Checkin staff did not seem to be very well trained, however polite. Added breakfast for one day but only registered 1 guest despite 2 guests stayed in the room. When we asked advise at concierge if there was any shops selling photography items, reply was “ sorry I’m not local”… Would like to express our gratitude to concierge staff Peter Zhang and room attendant Li Lingyu. Peter always has a genuine smile on his face and helped with our parcel delivery reached destination smoothly. Ms Li is kind and considerate, noted we like to drink coffee, made effort to place a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. Lastly, we’d like to appreciate hotel management for making my husband’s birthday even more special by presenting a cake and a card in the room. Would consider to stay again if we go back to Suzhou.

My hotel allocation was at the older building the hotel premise is quite a distance from entrance to the building but its fine. The room size is big toilet and shower separated (nice) their toilet equip with bidet spray and treatment thingy. Plus point Their breakfast selection was good The surrounding of the hotel has alot of cafe pubs and all if you want to stay near to famous tourist locations this might mot be the right hotel for you. Did not meet expectations. Building has issues. -Rooms had temperature issues that the AC could not handle, Hotel tries to handle this with curtains and a paper notice (see picture. With the curtains closed Room was 35°C at check-in in winter because the room was on the sunny side). -Lack of hot water for the shower/bath in the evening, hotel said it has trouble handling peak hours (and they weren't even fully booked). -Shoehorn dropped in the middle of the night, waking us. Hanger is a double sided tape variety. -Other obvious maintenance issues like the electrical socket being misaligned, and the toilet seat having bad gearing in the smart toilet. -No decaf coffee available in the room, the staff said there is none (did not even know what it was). Normally with this brand of coffee the decaf is in blue packets. -Breakfast was mediocre at best. Pretty standard mainland fare. Line to the noodle stall was excessive, and for everything else the quality was lacking. On the positive side, the pool and the sauna were satisfactory. Good parking too. Firm bed for those who like it. Staff was fairly responsive despite, although Chinese is helpful. And for one of the 3 rooms booked we got an upgrade (although all of the negatives above still apply)

This hotel most certainly did not disappoint, the stay was extremely pleasant and the views were spectacular. The hotel staff were fantastic and their efforts did not go unnoticed. Kyle, for example was professional during the check in process and patiently answered questions. I initially booked the ‘King Premium Jinji Lake View’ room, however, he kindly upgraded my room for free so that I could have a better view of both Jinji lake and the city, which was stunning. The housekeeper was attentive and did an excellent job in maintaining the cleanliness of the room. The room service team were also accommodating of special requests to meet my dietary needs. Although there was some minor dissatisfaction with temperature of food being served, what stood out to me was their receptiveness of feedback and how they provided instant solutions. Overall, the staff working here demonstrated utmost professionalism and are an asset to the hotel.

The location is excellent, overlooking the lake. Everything is clean and tidy, as you would expect for the price paid. A few suggestions for improvement: Breakfast: The hotel closes its breakfast bar at 10:15 a.m., which is too early. For people on holiday, it can be challenging to wake up before 9 a.m. Personally, during my two-day stay, I missed breakfast on the first day and had to rush through it on the second. Based on my experience with other five-star hotels, most do not enforce such an early cutoff. Some even allow guests to enjoy breakfast as long as they arrive at the restaurant by 11 a.m., letting them take their time and enjoy a leisurely breakfast or brunch until 1 p.m. Facilities: I am sure the hotel offers plenty, from gym facilities and a spa to a pool. However, when I checked in, the staff did not explain how to access these amenities. Since I was busy exploring the city of Suzhou, I didn’t have the opportunity to make full use of the hotel’s facilities. Still, for a five-star hotel, I expected the staff to provide a warm introduction to the property and its offerings upon check-in.

Exceptional service. Conveniently located. Loved that they offered loccitane products. Also did a tour of the hotel given it’s a historical site. Our guide Ms.Guo did a great job.

+ Location is pretty good if you want to be in the city. It’s not far from the train station and many attractions/tourist spots. Room was pretty good, large, and clean. Service was good, nothing you wouldn’t expect for a hotel like Marriott but good. Swimming pool was clean and pretty big. There are lockers, showers, and everything you’d need. There was literally no one inside so it made it even better. - Breakfast was disappointing. The selection was quite large but some of the foods were not fresh: pastries, hash browns, and probably others. Juice or soya milk was mixed with water so it wasn’t great. Of course some other things were fresh but I expected way more from such a hotel.
