Sunset Hills Hotels & Accommodations

I arrived and was greeted promptly by a gentleman at the front desk. After taking care of the incidental hold, he handed me my key cards and directed me to the elevators. My room was large and very clean. It wouldve been helpful to have a guide of channels for the tv and washclothes in the room. The breakfast was ok with scrambled eggs, chicken patties, pastries, waffle makers, and 4 types of cereal. If I was more hungry than I had been, the selection could've been better. It is located near a ton of eateries and shopping.

Stayed here for 4 nights recently. I didn't know hotel was under renovation when booking or I wouldnt have booked. No Pool, No Lobby Bar and very run down common areas. Its a hotel undergoing renovations and as expected broken items (eg ice machines) are not being repaired as I assume they are being upgraded. Bedroom however was clean and spacious with a large desk area. Beds were extremely comfortable as were the pillows. Air con worked perfectly so no complaints there. The common areas are very run down, however the staff in this hotel more than make up for the shortcomings. They always smiled and greeted you when you came in. There is a lovely bar/restaurant (the twisted tree)attached to the hotel that served a lovely breakfast. We had lunch and dinner here most days and also drank here at night, the food is very good. Its a popular spot with many locals which is always a good sign. The bits of the hotel that have been renovated has been done very nicely and no doubt when its completed it will be lovely, The Best thing about this hotel though is the staff. Many Thanks to the Manager (Doug) who was very pleasant and friendly and to all his staff from the ladies at reception to the cleaners who were super nice.

We had a great time visiting STL and staying at Clayton Plaza was part of that. Our room was clean and seems to be newly updated. The free breakfast was delicious.. My son swam in the pool each day .. The staff was nice and helpful.. I had an evening when my shower didn't start ( digital shower) and they were quick to take care of the situation. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to come back some day.

Location was great, room was surprisingly smaller than expected after staying at other Le Meridien locations around the world, but still comfortable. Service was wonderful. Food and beverage specifically were great throughout the morning and night.

Room 410, It has a sofa and coffee table, is called a suite. I never could figure out the air conditioner/ furnace. it tan all the time no matter what I set the thermostat on. 63 degrees is what I like. Blower would switch between heat and air conditioning without ever stopping. I intended to mention it at the desk upon departure but the thought was not with me at the time. They have some fine ladies working the reception desk, Barbra and Kimmy. I had a problems understanding why this Holiday Inn would not allow me to use points for payment on this stay and also on one a few months previously. When making reservations on the web site it was listed as NO REWARDS NIGHTS AVAILABLE, with no reason noted. Barbra and Kimmy explained to me that there is a limited quota for rewards nights allowed at each hotel. When that quota is reached, no other customers may use points. That was news to me and I appreciate that they kindly explained the system. I or my wife stays here once or twice a year and we like the hotel, it's location to St. louis, and all the fine people working there.

I feel very good, and the service is also very good. The staff are very friendly and will help you when you need any help. You can also take care of small pets at the front desk. I especially like their bar on the first floor. It is very comfortable to sit on the side of the street at night and watch the street view outside.

Requested room with a decent view. Was in a room where passers by were actually looking into room and waving. Hotel said it was ”construction” Insisted I be moved. New room faced parking lot. Asked for room on other side of hallway Was told they were all taken. THEY WERE NOT ALL TAKEN. THE CLEANING LADY CONFIRMED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL AVAILABLE ROOMS. IN THE AREA THAT I HAD REQUESTED.

I stayed here with my nephews a week ago. There were a lot of events in the city and most rooms were sold out, but this one was in a good central location and I reserved two nights for $600. The hotel and rooms were ”OK”. Clean and comfortable. Not what I was expecting for the price, but I picked it mostly for the location and short driving times for the attractions we were wanting to do over the weekend, so that was fine. After waking up the first morning and taking a shower, I came out to one of my nephews telling me the front desk called to come downstairs because there was a breakin in the parking lot. I went down, and 8 cars had been broken into overnight. The parking lot had no cameras, and there were no leads on a suspect. After talking to the police, insurance, repair shop, etc. I visited the front desk, and though annoyed tried to be friendly. I asked how often this happens. ”Not often”. Is the hotel able to help us out in any way? That resulted in a sneer, and ”We might be able to provide you with a boxed breakfast if you insist”. (The box breakfasts cost guests $5, unless they are platinum-tier rewards members (which I am), and then they are free.) I thanked her, but let her know we had already had our breakfasts, and asked if the manager would be in that day. She let me know he only came in Monday-Friday 9-5, but the hotel policy was that they were not responsible for damages in the parking lot, so contacting him would not do any good. This is the part that still bothers me. I can understand the insurance reasons of not being responsible for actual damages suffered in a parking lot. But I would expect it to be good business to at least pretend to be sympathetic to your customers, and offer some kind of refund/comp and an ”I'm sorry this happened to you during your stay with us” response. If I had stayed at a $50/night hotel I would have understood, but at the price I paid I would expect some sort of basic security and customer service. I've stayed 13 nights in Holiday Inns since March, and have two more reserved for later this month at a different one I've had good experiences with, but I'm rethinking my future stays due to the callous disregard of this one.

The room is very clean, the space is large, close to the University of St. Louis, near St. Louis, this hotel accounts for the top1 of Ctrip's best-selling hotel. After staying, it is indeed worthy of the name!
