Hotel San Felipe

Extremely nice, friendly , professional welcome by the Lady owner or manager, she speaks English too. The whole place is sparkling clean, it’s quiet, modern and comfortable. We had a large, bright, apartment for 3 with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen and living room. It was very comfortable and functional. Everything works well, good WiFi. The breakfast was excellent, beautiful view from the roof top. Central location near the beautiful San Felipe church and a large supermarket 1 block away. Laundry available in the building, ready the next day. They can help you with taxis, tours etc.. Price is fair, they really treat you well, we had an excellent 3 day stay in Sucre. Thank you!

I stayed here for 6 nights (god! The trip changed due to road closures.) I paid $50 or $60 (I forgot!) It was charming, my room was big and warm (one night had to use a heater but it worked), the bathroom was big and modern, The breakfast was exquisite and delicious and the staff was very helpful. It is two blocks from the cathedral and is convenient and quiet in the city centre. Overall, I have no complaints and faults and I will come back next time. (Oh, note the previous comments about WiFi, I would say that if you log in to their nearest router, speed is still OK, I used my phone to read the New York Times and local newspapers, no problem. They have several routers in total.)

The hotel interior, rooftop terrace, and ba*****t rooms are beautiful and historic. Unfortunately, the rooms have issues. The smell when you first enter the room is that of chemicals- such as insect spray. The bathroom continually smells of sewer, but the intensity waxes and wanes. My doorknob was broken and the door only worked by the key. My safe was locked so I couldn’t use it. There was no way to heat or cool the room. My room was too hot. I could hear other guests talking until after midnight. My first morning the shower went from warm to completely cold while I had shampoo on my hair. To get hot water in the first place, I had to run the tap for nearly five minutes. In a city that is predicted to run out of water by 2050, this is criminal (install a hot water circulation system!). There was no lotion provided and only two towels. The hot tubs were empty; I was told you needed to schedule them. I saw three cardio machines but no yoga mat/stretching area. I did not sleep much; I couldn’t wait to leave.
