The Penn Stroud, Stroudsburg - Poconos, Ascend Hotel Collection

Beds were comfortable, sink/shower water pressure was good, quiet location. There was a note that said to use the thermostat on the wall but it didn't work and woke up to a very cold room - it was actually the thermostat on the heater that worked. Complimentary water is provided in the lobby. Parking lot only had one spot left when we got there.

Lots of food in the local area. Not too far from the DWG National Recreation Area. Good for bigger kids. Clean and comfortable beds.

Despite the lobby and ground floor being renovated, the rest of the hotel was nicely, updated, including the rooms and lounge area for breakfast. The complementary breakfast was excellent, especially on the weekend. And despite a holiday, there was plenty of staff and their service was attentive and friendly. The hotel location in the middle of downtown is excellent providing lots of food, bars, and shopping nearby. There is also plenty of entertainment in downtown. This is a great old hotel that found its place a long time ago in the heart of Stroudsburg and is on a big comeback. We would definitely come back to stay there and look forward to completion of the renovations.

I didn’t experience the breakfast but the beds the floors and the bathroom was super clean. A little noisy outside but then it calmed down. The woman in the front desk was very informative and helpful when directing me around the area and when I needed extra quilts for my sons bed. LP

Location suffers here. This location goes back to 1833 so there's only so much you can do to upgrade. I was debating between here and the Hampton Inn, and the Hampton would have better suited just due to the parking situation even though it would have been $50 more expensive for 2 nights. Here you have to go out the lobby front doors which is a long walk to your vehicle so very inconvenient. People need shorts trips to and from their vehicle. Rooms were good though. Modern and clean. Hot water in the shower and good water pressure. Fast Wi-Fi. Good workout area with treadmills and weights and a decent breakfast area. Fresh fruit and good hot coffee.

Great place. Something makes the bed shake at times. I think the HVAC unit. But super clean and close to everything

Room was fine, pretty basic. Beds were good, rug didn't seem really clean, bathroom was perfectly good, two chairs (one office, one side chair) were far from comfortable. Location is good, with some good restaurant options nearby. Despite the raw temperatures, crowds in the street in the middle of the night were loud enough to wake us. The hotel supplies ear plugs, so it is a known issue that they cannot control, and at least they make an effort to mitigate. Price was good, and I thought it added up to a decent value, but people pickier than me might feel the faults more keenly

Our room (King/City View) was loud. The neighbors had their TV on all night and we could hear every word. The room itself is clean, and lovely, but for being in the center of it all, this hotel is not equipped to deal with the noise. Upon arrival we had to wait 20 minutes for someone to check us in. Not a soul to be found, which was off putting. Great shower! Nice mattress.

Great breakfast, very comfortable. Great location, walking distance to bars and restaurants.
