Streetsboro Hotels & Accommodations

I booked this hotel through Expedia for one night. It was a great price for the one night. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathtub had no stopper. The room included a refrigerator and microwave. I saw signs for a pool and exercise room, but did not check either one out. Our big issue was this is a dog friendly hotel and one of the dogs near us would not stop barking. By 11:30pm, we were sick of the barking and not being able to sleep and notified the front desk. Luckily, the barking stopped about twenty minutes later. We had to wake up early the next day, so we didn't get much sleep, but I'm glad the front desk took care of the problem.

The walls are paper thin. Worst room noise I have ever experienced at a Marriott. My daughter and I could hear every word the people next door were saying! There was also highway noise and the air conditioner going off and on made a loud noise. My daughter and I stayed here two nights during her orientation weekend for Kent State. Warning if you share Marriott points with your husband. The points account is in his name, but we both have Marriott credit cards. On occasion if he is not with us the front desk will ask to speak to my husband to confirm I’m on his account. No problem, but this hotel front desk said they couldn’t speak to him and said he had to call Marriott Bonvoy main number to have me added to the reservation. He goes to call the number and they didn’t even know what he was talking about until another person got on the phone. Finally after waiting in the lobby with all our stuff at 9:30 at night they got us added to the reservation so we could check in. I literally have the same exact Marriott credit card with my name on it and the same last name. I have the Marriott app on my phone with our confirmation number. This happened to the lady that was before us too and a lady after us luckily had her husband in the car, but he was handicapped and the hotel made him go in to check in. We will be staying in the area often for at least the next 4 years, but not here!

I stayed here when I took my daughter for the admitted student tour at Kent State University. We were driving from Illinois so the location directly off route 80 was really convenient. There are also lots of conveniences nearby — Walmart directly across the street, gas station, restaurants — and about a 15 minute drive to Kent State along a very scenic route. The clerk was very friendly and I loved having a full kitchen. My daughter stayed with a friend who lives in the area so they could visit with KSU students and I went to Walmart, bought food and cooked in the room. It had everything you need and in excellent condition. They do have free breakfast in the morning including some gluten free options. There is also a very small market in the lobby with microwaveable items, snacks and drinks, including wine. There’s really not much lobby area though. I will consider staying here if I’m back in the area again.

We booked a king suite. The room was large and beautiful! Definitely one of the nicest room experiences! We mentioned the kind of food we were looking for, and for amazing recommendations and directions. The desk staff were an absolute joy, I can’t speak highly enough of them! We talked, laughed, joked, and also got to witness other interactions with customers that were just as great as our own interactions. As for the room, the bed was comfortable, the tvs were large, the open ceilings made the room seem as the more bigger. Everything was clean! Actually clean! I always carry cleaning supplies on our trips, and do a sanitizing sweep. This was the first time I wiped up and my paper towels remained white! If I’m ever in the area again I will definitely ask out this hotel to stay in! 100/10!

I reserved an ACCESSIBLE room on the first floor for today and tomorrow. Check in time was 3pm, I arrived at 6:30pm. When I checked in, I was told that the non-smoking accessible rooms on the first floor were all taken. I asked how that could be, because I had a valid reservation for one. I had just confirmed the reservation with the front desk the afternoon before. When the clerk asked me if I had asked to have an accessible room ”set aside”, I said, ”No, because I had a valid, confirmed, reservation for that room.” I was given a non-accessible room on the 3rd floor. I am wearing a leg brace due to a knee injury. The toilet is too low to get off of without the use of my crutches, and taking a shower will be difficult without the extra hand rails and not being able to walk in vs. having to step into the tub. When I came back downstairs to get some items in my car, I made a comment to the clerk about the toilet being too low for me. He said, ”Well, if the gentleman who has been promised the room comes in, and he doesn't need it, the I can switch you to that room.” I looked at him in disbelief and said, ”I had reserved that room months ago. Why was it promised to someone who isn't even here? Is that what a reservation is supposed to be for???? Thank God I'm not in a wheelchair, I don't know what I would have done.” The clerk did apologize, but it doesn't fix anything. I will not stay at another Choice hotels brand. This is my last stay.

My stay at this Hampton Inn got off to a very nice start. The young lady behind the check in desk was pleasant and efficient. A smiling face makes a huge impression on a road weary traveler. Likewise, the lady staffing the breakfast room was very nice. I’m a klutz when it comes to operating the self-serve waffle makers and she came to my rescue. Thanks for your help!! Now, for the less than positive — the single elevator is inadequate for the size of this hotel and is not conveniently located. Apparently, a lot of construction workers stay here and there was mud tracked throughout the lobby, elevator and hallways. Speaking of construction, the hotel is having a new roof installed. Fine, but don’t allow the construction crew to block off a significant part of your lot with their vehicles. Finally, my check out experience was the least acceptable part of my stay. When I approached the desk to check out on March 30, the clerk was absorbed in reading something and didn’t even raise his eye level to meet mine. He simply grunted, “What can I do for you?” Still staring at his book or newspaper or whatever it was that had his attention. It certainly wasn’t his customer.

Kent seems to have only this hotel in the city, other hotels are far away, not very convenient. All aspects of the hotel are OK, the price is slightly more expensive. It’s very convenient to go to the university in a few minutes’ walk. It’s a good choice for a visit to Kent and a temporary study abroad.

My family and I stayed at the Econolodge in Streetsboro, Ohio for a week. The hotel staff and accomodations were excellent. The room was clean, the beds were firm, and the sheets were quality. The front desk staff was pleasant. They transferred our calls to the room and always had clean towels and toiletries upon request. The landscape was beautiful. Green grass around the building, fresh flowers planted at the front entrance. The maintenance team worked hard to keep the grounds well maintained. They mowed the grass, picked up trash and painted the garage cans and outside barriers! Fresh ice was provided near the vending machines. Plants were placed on the garbage cans creating a very home like feel to the hotel. In addition, incense were placed on each end of the halls. My husband and I enjoyed walking our 14 month old son and 11 year old daughter around the hotel grounds. We loved looking at the all the trees and felt at peace. We also spent a lot of time at the picknick table on the corner of the hotel. This allowed or 14 month old son to play in the grass for the first time. The hotel is within walking distance of Walmart, GameStop and Sheetz as well as other local vendors. This convenience allowed us to make all of our purchases. I would definitely recommend this hotel to to everyone and look forward to booking future visits at Econolodge hotel. Police presence is active and everyone can feel secure. As a have a traveling family and in transition. We have visited other hotels in the area, but we only felt fully welcomed here. Please respect staff...they work very hard to maintain there quality. Management is very approachable, just be respectful and please keep their peace. If, you have a request, just ask and they will give their honest opinion. All the staff are from the area and they work hard to insure your stay is quality. If your a smoker, please smoke outside in designated areas. There are multiple places to put your discards into trash. They trash is always done. Place in Hallway respectfully and the staff will take care of it. Good Business, creates Better Business. We would say they are the most Respectfully hotel in the area, to all types of respectful people.
