My Partner and I stopped here for the weekend. It took some time to decide on this hotel when booking due to all of the reviews etc on the different hotels in the vicinity. We were not disappointed from the first iteration at the front desk with a lovely lady who was super helpful. The room itself was clean and the bed very comfortable indeed. The food in the restaurant was in my personal opinion over priced, but there are plenty of places to eat out just a short walk away. The location is perfect to enjoy the river and the town all within an easy walking distance. The car park is not the biggest and works on a first come first served set up. However we managed to get a spot without any trouble, although I am sure this would not have been the case at peaks times of the year. All in all though a thoroughly pleasant experience!

Welcoming staff, comfy bed and a quick walk to town. Went to visit Shakespeares house and have a tour around Stratford, convenient stay as the hotel was 15 minutes outside of the town, retail park across the road. Stayed for breakfast fairly priced and a standard set up of food.

The service was great! There was an error with room allocation and as the booked room was not available, we got upgraded to a suite which was wonderful as we were celebrating a special milestone birthday. The dinner at the Trevellyn Restaurant was beyond expectation as we were vegetarian and the vegetarian meal prepared by the chef was awesome. The hotel decor itself looked a little tired although it added to the authentic look of the listed building. It was a hot weekend during our stay and although there was no air conditioning, a small fan was provided which made a little difference when sleeping at night. The gardens needed some upkeep and it would have been lovely if the fountains had been working. Overall we did enjoy our stay and look forward to coming back again after it has gone through some upgrading and refurbishing.

We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we walked into reception. We bid for our stay as part of charity auction. The owners of Stratford park had donated a golf break of a night dinner, bed and breakfast and two rounds of golf in aid of Primrose Hospice. The junior suite is a lovely room, cozy and relaxing with luxury touches. Maz, the restaurant manager was attentive and looked after our every need. He gave great recommendations for food and wine and all was delicious. Golf - lovely course with wide fairways. Again friendly service from all. My challenge was to get over the water on 17th. I didn’t succeed so I will definitely go back.

We had a lovely stay here, the facilities are really good. We enjoyed the pool and gym areas, there’s outdoor games to play and the grounds are beautiful. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. A lot of the staff are very young and whilst friendly the method of service is very reactive (we noticed this in a few other reviews). Lots of glasses and plates being left around, dirty tables not being cleaned whilst groups of staff are stood in the corner chatting. I wouldn’t mind this as much if it wasn’t a 4/5 star hotel. Often staff would forget what you’d ask for and you’d be waiting ten minutes for a spoon or milk with your tea. Whilst the food is lovely it is fairly overpriced - this didn’t bother us as much as we had dinner credit included but I wouldn’t have eaten there without credit. Having said that, we had a great meal in the restaurant and the staff provided a pudding as a surprise for my birthday which was a lovely treat! Overall, we would return to stay again - but don’t expect 5* service.

Title: fantastic staff, comfortable stay Reception: Liz at reception was fantastic and Helen at breakfast was informative made great suggestions on where to visit historical sites. Room / facilities: Room number 19 is on the ground floor and is clean. The room consists of 2 single beds, desk, chair, iron and board, stand shower (no tub) in the bath room, desk and chair. Self control air conditioning with a window that opens about 5 cm. The room does not have a fridge. Although we had to change rooms due to plumbing issues, our second room was very functional and comfortable. Parking: This is available at an additional £3.50 per night cost, car registration must be provided at check in. Whilst there are plenty of parking spaces, a car is required to get to the hotel, resulting in the spaces filling quickly. Wifi: Complementary and good speed. No validation or password required. Breakfast: The buffet breakfast is from 6.30am to 9.30am and consists of cereals, yogurt, breads (to toast) jams and spreads, fresh fruits, pastries, eggs, bacon, baked beans, sausages & harsh browns, juices, tea /coffee. Staff are very attentive to remove plates and refill food items. Nice touch having a staff member come around during breakfast offering sweet pastries. Conclusion: Centrally located “base”hotel for day trips to surrounding towns or Warwick town. Very nice staff, with a Mcdonalds outside your door step. Letdowns: No fridge, inconsistent room features. Location / Nearby: Warwick town is a 5 min drive. Other nearby towns are 10-20 mins drive away.

Health and safety hazard. Very dirty with thick dust on top of velvet headboard…Urgh. Stayed for two nights. Both curtains hanging down on one side. Started to position curtain around the window to stop the light coming in and pricked my thumb harshly on one of the several large heavy duty staples sticking through the curtain fabric presumably where the pleat should have been. In the morning I noticed a small tear in my pillowcase. When I turned the pillow over there was a rip in fabric almost the whole width of the dirty pillow. I had a quiet word with the morning receptionist on our way out for the day who said she would inform management (I did not want to embarrass her in front of other guests)…although this was the same lady on reception when we arrived the previous day and who I took to be the owner/manager! On our return, whilst the bed had been made up and the pillowcase changed, the staples were still sticking through the fabric which is when I noticed the heavy dust on top of the headboard. On the second night the room was very noisy as if a fan was running all night (yes, I did turn the bathroom light off) and for the second night I hardly got any sleep! Very, very disappointed that firstly this room (41) was in such a poor state for the amount of money paid per night and secondly that my concerns seemed to have been almost totally disregarded. When checking out of the hotel, despite a lady in the office behind reception, nobody came to the front so I just left the key on the desk. I have taken numerous photos which show the disgusting state of the room in general if management care to see. This is a 3 star hotel which I am afraid would be hard pushed in reality to hold onto a 1 star and I hope the AA review their star system in the future before the whole system becomes meaningless!

My partner and I had been to Coventry the night before and stayed in a 4 star Ramada hotel which - surprisingly - is also owned by Wyndham. My partner had booked the room and mistakenly booked the Northbound hotel instead of the Southbound hotel. The person on the desk at the Southbound hotel was super helpful and could not have done enough for us. When we got to the Northbound hotel, the staff here were equally helpful. This was a last-minute booking so we didn't have to drive tired and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room!

Nice looking pub with lovely river opposite Accommodation was round the back with separate door to enter which had a key code lock where a key to enter is stored in a box this was explained to us as the pub shuts early due to low season. We returned around 11:30pm put the code in and no key was in the box we then had to call an emergency number and somebody had to travel to us to let us in a bit inconvenient for both parties I’m just glad I wasn’t on my own as it’s in the middle of nowhere Rooms were fine bed clean etc but I think it should state very clearly that the rooms share a bathroom as I didn’t notice that and would not have booked knowing this , the apar**ent they have though is lovely and has ample room and it’s own bathroom. Beer was good Breakfast next morning was fine not worth though the £25 for 2 people as you get a cooked breakfast with tea or coffee that’s it it’s just brought to you no buffet option or juice cereal etc and some of it was a bit cold Staff were fine I would stay again as to be honest what we paid wasn’t a lot but I’d prefer to pay a bit more and have my own bathroom I’d also recommend just having a coded door not a key in a box as I gather this problem will happen often

Super satisfied! The front desk was very friendly and polite, and the trip was placed in a room with two single beds and replaced with a double bed room. The view is perfect and I don't want to leave the window at all. The breakfast is very rich and the bacon with feldon characteristics is delicious. Dinner is relatively not my favorite type but the two-night service experience is also very good. Although I missed the official 2-stay 3 event, I was generally satisfied. Maybe I will come back on the anniversary later.

XXIAOCHENIt is very unexpected that the boss is a Chinese couple who have already settled in the UK. The room is clean, soundproof, the toiletries are good, and the hygiene is very good. At the same time, we have made a lot of good suggestions for our travel, and given improvements A lot of efficiency, guests can park, breakfast is a traditional English breakfast, very happy staying 😃

GGuest UserWe spent one night here. The Hotel is in a small village just outside Stratford. There is not much outside space other than parking. A warm welcome at Reception and felt totally safe with the COVID arrangements. The reception area was very clean as was our room (No.1 on the. ground floor). Indeed you would have thought it was a brand new room. The facilities in the room were excellent. Large TV with Movie channels. The walk-in shower was very clean. We ate in the Saddles Bar and the food was excellent. The breakfast service was great and the food was top quality. I have tried to find something to find fault with but I can't. Even the price was very reasonable.

GGuest UserI booked this hotel for a weekend break to celebrate our friends 40th wedding anniversary, and having read some of the recent reviews I was a tad worried to say the least , so here’s my take and opinion including other reviews . During the booking process and subsequent communication with the reception and booking staff , I can only say it was exceptional and first class . On arrival we were warmly greeted and checked in to our rooms , the approach to the hotel is very nice , reception was spacious and clean . Our two rooms were next door to each other and both were spacious and clean ( no sign of cob webs or dirty items as other reviews has stated ) one of the rooms ( our friends ) did have an issue with one flickering light and one bedside light not working plus only one hand towel. My friend reported this and a Bath towel was supplied straight away ( no hand towel available) and the reception did day she had no maintenance on site , but would endeavour to get the lights addressed the next day , unfortunately this did not happen . However as my friends said it wasn’t the end of the world and didn’t detract from their stay but it would need addressing before new guests used the room . Breakfast was buffet style and was good it had a cooked option , which was replenished quite frequently so sometimes a slight wait for all options to be available but imo didn’t cause an issue and meant all cooked items were fresh, toast, cereal , pastries, fruit juices and teas and coffee all available too. On the Friday we had dinner in the restaurant after pre drinks in the bar . The bar area and drinks were fine albeit some items requested were not available, no Tia Maria , no floater coffees ( post dinner ) , prices were the unusual hotel type prices 20-40% dearer than pubs so no shock there ( other reviews questioned prices ) The dinner in the restaurant was very good, food was a good quality and well prepared and presented ( again based on previous reviews I wasn’t expecting this ) if you read any of my other reviews you will know I am a foodie so I only praise food when it’s justified. Service was good until the dessert ( found out later , some agency staff were used in the restaurant) we ordered a hot desert but wanted ice cream with it as well , so effectively ordered two desserts for three of us , and that seemed to confuse one of the servers who grunted when he only brought out one ice cream dessert , when we asked for the other two , however he was in the minority and the rest of the servers and staff were excellent. On the Saturday evening I had booked a local restaurant for dinner ( see separate review ) and we used the local taxi firm ‘ Chris’s ‘ who is partly retained by the hotel , and he delivered us and collected us from our restaurant at a set hotel rate ( very reasonable). On checking out I had an in-depth discussion with the duty manageress about our experience and how much we had enjoyed it albeit with a couple of hiccups.

GGuest UserThis place was not good at all when we arrived we were met by the manager who was very abrubt bordering on rude - the room seemed ok but the shower tray was very slippery and the door to the shower would not close - no sanitary bin in the bathroom - the mattress was the most uncomfortable I have ever tried - the cleanliness left a lot to be desired especially the stairs which were very dirty with extremely worn carpets with a lot of large holes,If you have mobility issues the stairs are very steep. We booked 2 double rooms they had no single rooms my son was in 1 double room on his own but we were charged double room rate which INCLUDED the price of 2 breakfasts - when I asked for the second breakfast which we had paid for to be put in a take away bag it was refused . We stayed for an evening meal which was ok as long as you don't mind your food being overcooked and you like rock hard onion bajies. It was a totally abysmal experience - we had just been to a funeral and the way we were treated really did not help. Lastly if you want a quiet evening meal please dont go when the Cheltenhan races are on - The irish people that came for a meal were sooooo loud.

GGuest UserThis hotel is well suited to the old phrase ‘fur coat, no knickers’. The main reception rooms are beautiful, but the actual accommodation leaves a lot to be desired. £229 felt like a huge sum of money for a random night in October, in a tatty room, with stains on the walls, chipped paint work that in places was more chip than paint, blackened grout in the bathroom, 1950s metal & single glazed prefab style windows and a door which looked as if it had been bust open at some point (nothing like making your guests feel safe). Also deciding to give the spa a swerve, on the basis that a quick look didn’t inspire much confidence, we were truly disappointed with this hotel & would not recommend it to anyone based on our experience. The stay was supposed to be a treat, but the decor is in dire need of a serious face lift. Interestingly, the person who checked us out did not ask if everything was satisfactory, or if we had enjoyed our stay. It was as if she knew it was a total rip off. For somewhere which oozes polished antique charm in its public rooms, Alveston Manor seemed somewhat hypocritical and grossly over-priced behind the scenes.
