The location of the hotel near the train station and the friendly reception allow us to start our holidays relaxingly. The city centre is within a minute walking distance. The room was conveniently furnished and fully large enough for a short trip. The reception is open around the hour. The building has a playbank and a fitness centre. Also you can play bowling and billiards. By getting tickets for public transport free of charge, you can reach all the attractions around the area, even drive to the island of Rügen. The breakfast is delicious and extensive. Also here the staff is friendly and helpful.

We had one stay here wanting to get a night close to the coast after spending some days in Berlin. Coming from a 4 star hotel with pool in the middle of Berlin we were a bit surprised to see this was more expensive. But the room was quite spacey and as we were 3 they had a futon prepared. Room was cleaned and nice but no coffee machine in the room. Hotel was about 1 km from old town where there was a bunch of restaurants. We did not have breakfast at the hotel. Service at check in and out was nice.

Eins vorweg - die Zimmerpreise (inkl. Frühstück) sind gemessen an Qualität, Lage und Service einfach unverschämt. Es drängt sich einem regelrecht der Verdacht auf, dass die Betreiber sich aufgrund der durchaus nachvollziehbaren Corona-bedingten Mindereinnahmen nun gesundstoßen wollen... Die durchaus geräumigen Zimmer des alt-ehrwürdigen Gründerzeit-Hotels in zentraler Lage direkt gegenüber des Hauptbahnhofs sind auf den ersten Blick durchaus elegant geschmackvoll eingerichtet und aufgrund der hohen Fenster schön lichtdurchflutet. Bei näherem Hinsehen fallen einem jedoch schnell einige Mängel auf. Die Bettwäsche der ansonsten durchaus angenehm festen Betten ist von auffallend dünner Qualität, die Zimmerbeleuchtung mit einer Art Außenleuchte über der Türe?! und einer einzigen weiteren Stehlampe auf einem Sideboard, war sehr spärlich und die offensichtlich noch relativ neu erscheinenden Renovierungsarbeiten im Detail schlampig ausgeführt. Im Bad gabs dann derart kratzige Handtücher, dass man sich nur wunden kann ob es vielleicht ”Peeling-Handtücher” sein sollten...Die Duschkabine hatte Schimmel in den Ecken und Haare von den vormaligen Gästen im Bassin. Die Toilette war zwar zweifelsohne fest verschraubt, dennoch leckte diese leicht am Standfuß, was doch sehr unangenehm ist. Die Geschwindigkeit des freien! WLAN ist selbst für ostdeutsche Verhältnisse katastrophal - wir haben unseren eigenen Hotspot über LTE genutzt... Es gibt keine Bar, kein Restaurant und auch keinen Zimmerservice - stattdessen steht ein banaler Snack-Automat in der Lobby - da dieser überwiegend Bier (in 1l Flaschen!) und Getränke enthält und daher kühlt, sind alle Snacks wie Gummibärchen und Schokoriegel ebenfalls gekühlt und so nicht zum unmittelbaren Verzehr genießbar, da kalt und hart. Das von anderen Gästen so hochgelobte Frühstücksbuffet ist ordentlich, entspricht aber gleichsam nicht den horrenden Übernachtungspreisen - da haben wir schon für deutlich günstigere Preise deutlich mehr geboten bekommen. Die Rezeption wird über Nacht durch ein grobschlächtiges ROLLGITTER!!! abgetrennt, welches an eine Sperranlage erinnert. Das zumeist sehr plump und einfach wirkende Personal ist als solches grundsätzlich nicht zu erkennen, da diese keine Hoteleigene Bekleidung tragen, eben sowenig Namensschilder. Katastrophale Parkplatzlage: der zum Hotel gehörige Parkplatz ist abgelegen und aufgrund der abmontierten Schranke für jedermann zugänglich und wird auch durch Anwohner genutzt - darüber hinaus sind die Dimensionen der einzelnen Parkbuchten anscheinend noch aus DDR-Zeiten und allenfalls für Kleinwagen geeignet. Wir sind mit unserem Kombi notgedrungen ins zusätzlich kostenpflichtige Parkhaus des nahegelegenen Bahnhofs ausgewichen. Alle in allem erninnert dieses HOTEL mehr an ein HOSTEL. Die Zimmerpreise (Stand August/September 2021: € 146,-) sind einfach nur lächerlich unverschämt. Was für ein Reinfall, dachten wir doch, dass uns, gemessen am Preis, ein wenig ”Luxus” erwarten würde...
