Hotels near Bucknall Pentecostal Church, Stoke-on-Trent

We stayed here for two nights while visiting family for a wedding. The studio room itself was fully equipped with just about everything we needed for the stay and it was spotlessly clean… I mean spotless!!! A couple of things deterred from awarding a full 5 stars. 1: The check in is done remotely and was a little bit disjointed. The photo ID sent after booking was asked for again so had to be emailed again before passcodes we’re released. No on picks up the phone so the entire check in had to be done by SMS - although response were quite quick. 2: There was no parking available on arrival and we’d been driving for almost 6hrs so being tired, a bit stiff and hungry this news was a bit of a blow especially as the listing states there is free parking. We Sent a message to the check in team who basically said if there’s no parking well there’s no parking. We did manage to acquire a space a bit later once someone moved their car. 3: Hanley (the area of SOT where the apartments are located) feels a little bit run down, although there is a shopping centre, cinema, market and restaurants /shops to visit and everyone we encountered over the few days were all very friendly and eager to help. 4: The complimentary tea/coffee etc was not replenished during our stay (yeah we know it’s complimentary but in most places we have stayed in they are still replenished daily). Still worth another visit and would definitely book again with the knowledge of what to expect.

Pros The waiter in the restaurant was so friendly and welcoming so thank you. The rooms were comfortable however I booked for 1 adult and 2 children there was no way we would have all fit in the room if we all stayed. (One couldn’t go) Cons Having to use your room card for the lift was very frustrating Not being able to use cash was also annoying and it took ages to be served at the bar as only one person serving Having to pay £7.50 per night for parking was a bit expensive on top of the cost of the rooms 😳

Excellent room and en suite, very clean and seemed fairly newly furnished/decorated. Had booked a twin queen bed as was only available at time of booking (didn’t need two beds) and they did automatically switch me for what I think was a king bed on arrival and it was a very spacious room. Minus a point for dinner at the hotel which is a bit of a let down. - The allergens listed on the menu at reception didn’t match the allergens listed on the menu in the restaurant, so despite pre deciding what to have, was a bit of a let down to find some dishes were no longer allergen free - Also had my starter and main arrive before my drink did, despite ordering at the same time (they did apologise, as they were busy) -dinner in the restaurant was over priced for what you get (no seasoning or flavour) Breakfast however was great and excellent quality for buffet style. I used the gym and although small, it was great for a short stay and a nice to have. All staff were super friendly

The staff was friendly and helpful the breakfast was good. The cleanliness of the room was excellent and had a good night sleep. The only minor complaint from myself is that they closed the bar early so was unable to have a quick pint 🙁. But would definitely use again if in the area.

The hotel was so clean. The bathroom was spotless and there is a blue light so if you need to use it in the night you don’t wake everyone else up. The heating work perfectly in the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will be going back next year

I arrived at the Upper House on a snowy, frosty and slippy evening after a 2 day workshop in central Manchester, and from the moment i stepped in the door it was like being in another world of warmth, comfort and welcome. I had an issue with my initial room, which the lovely staff sorted quickly and with no fuss. The lounge is beautiful, had an open fire, a nice cold beer and the resident cat fast asleep - nearly dozed off right there, but so glad i didn't; because along with everything else being wonderful, the food at the Upper House is just phenomenal. Both evening meal and the Staffordshire breakfast were superb; huge portions and so so tasty! To think I nearly broke my journey at the Premier Inn - so glad i didn't and I will definitely be back.
