First of all, nothing to do with any of the staff, all lovely and very accommodating. It’s short staffed and that’s where most of the problems lie. We stayed here for 2 nights this week as a family Of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids under 3. The room was nice and clean, but when we got there the pull out bed had no bedding at all, we checked in about 9.30pm, so it wasn’t ideal when wanting to get the girls into their beds. Went to phone reception… the phone was broken. I managed to find the hotels reception number online so I called reception, and Laura from there came to the room with bedding and extra towels and even offered to make the bed for me, I said she didn’t have to but she helped me anyway, and she was amazing with our 2 children. Honestly, one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a while. The next morning we headed to breakfast… this was a shambles. First of all it was a struggle to get a table, we got ushered into a strange little conference room filled with dirty tables, we sat at the only clean one. Went to get a high chair for our baby… no high chairs. Went to get food, almost everything had run out, no juices or glasses, mugs for tea and coffee. Managed to get a small Plate of food, no cutlery to eat it with. Honestly Shocking. That evening Laura was on reception again and she came over and made a fuss over our children when she seen us, our baby absolutely loved her, she really is a credit to the hotel. I chatted with her and another girl with glasses who’s name I can’t remember, but she was also amazing with the baby, it makes such a difference when going anywhere and the staff are kind to my children, it always makes me want to return. The second morning for breakfast we got a high chair and again we’re put into the strange little room, again all tables dirty and full of plates, a nice girl called Anna cleaned it for us and apologised about the wait for a table. No mugs again, Anna got one for me, managed to get a small amount of juice with our breakfast, until it ran out again. Over all, it’s a staffing issue, the staff there are all amazing and did what they could when they could do it, but there needs to be more staff, it’s the school summer holidays and it seemed the dining room was running on 2/3 staff members.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting family for a wedding. The studio room itself was fully equipped with just about everything we needed for the stay and it was spotlessly clean… I mean spotless!!! A couple of things deterred from awarding a full 5 stars. 1: The check in is done remotely and was a little bit disjointed. The photo ID sent after booking was asked for again so had to be emailed again before passcodes we’re released. No on picks up the phone so the entire check in had to be done by SMS - although response were quite quick. 2: There was no parking available on arrival and we’d been driving for almost 6hrs so being tired, a bit stiff and hungry this news was a bit of a blow especially as the listing states there is free parking. We Sent a message to the check in team who basically said if there’s no parking well there’s no parking. We did manage to acquire a space a bit later once someone moved their car. 3: Hanley (the area of SOT where the apartments are located) feels a little bit run down, although there is a shopping centre, cinema, market and restaurants /shops to visit and everyone we encountered over the few days were all very friendly and eager to help. 4: The complimentary tea/coffee etc was not replenished during our stay (yeah we know it’s complimentary but in most places we have stayed in they are still replenished daily). Still worth another visit and would definitely book again with the knowledge of what to expect.

The guesthouse itself is within walking distance to Stoke-on-Trent Train Station and Staffordshire University (college road & leek road). The room and the property was very clean. The Owner Gabriel and Property Manager Joe was very helpful and made me feel safe during my stay. They accommodate long stay with discounted price. The rooms are exactly how the advertised on website (if anything better).Rooms are very big and spacious, bathroom were very clean. Rooms had aesthetic lights ( also dimmable). There were Sockets near bed and 2 work desk/ study desk and settee with coffee table. Free WiFi at the property. In short great find and will stay here again.

Travelled up for a charity bike ride. Proximity to park and mosque was key and this suited perfectly. Room was great. Shower powerful. Noise Proof good as we had a baby with us. Cot provided good standard. Breakfast was very good in morning and not too pricey if bought in advance with booking. Only lose points on having to provide confirmation that breakfast was booked due to fault with their booking system.

Manor House Hotel & Spa, Alsager

An excellent base for an early train from Crewe station. Friendly staff, superb food and lovely pool . Rooms could do with a refresh - looking a bit dated. Perfectly adequate for our needs though with tea and coffee and the usual iron, hairdryer etc. As it was on the ground floor, you could only open the windows a tiny bit, so it would become very warm in the summer even with the fan that was provided. I do think that air conditioning should be standard in all hotels now. Access to the pool was quite restrictive with specific times but the pool area was lovely although the steam room was out of order. Access to the full spa was at extra cost. The Stables Grill was excellent - food, service and cocktails - couldn’t fault and the breakfast equally as nice. Would definitely stay here again.
