This review is about Holiday Inn Express Stevenage, an IHG Hotel located @ Danestrete, Stevenage SG1 1XB, United Kingdom. It was a long stay for us as family combined with business and pleasure at the same time. Did the booking online as member and tried to reach out to the hotel by email and phone for over 3 weeks with no hope to hold to anyone at the hotel. On arrival the reception staff changed my existing booking and preferences to his own liking, further was very disappointed with Sofie after addressing the booking, emails, calls and follow up maters to her with no action, the reason I decided to gave up being platinum member to IHG for years. Its better to go random and practice our rights for the money well spent at other hotels. The hotel was a mess on our arrival with dirty stained colidoor walls with huge rolled old carpets around for the whole stay. maintenance could be improved to reflect with the members & gusts are paying. The bathroom was small, with broken door & damaged lock, broken toilet seat & cleanliness was big concern with the staff as they are not attentive to our instructions and they do not perform the cleaning the way it should, looks like no one cares at all. Smelly pillows, no towels till the next day, even the room phone & TV did not work for 3 days, was horrible standing at the careless reception staff just to ask them for room service. The shower in the hotel is terrible covered in limescale and was clogged, there is no option for those with dietary or allergy issues for breakfast not to mention no good options for kids. IHG head office & management needs to take more and serious actions about the staff and the managers @ Holiday Inn Express Stevenage if they want happy customers and if they do care about members, because I am 1 unhappy & very disappointed member with this property starting with Sofie and all the staff.
