This is our second stay at Hotel Settles. It has become a regular stopping point for our annual trip from Dallas to Ruidoso. The renovations that have been done to restore this historic landmark are spectacular. Everything is modern while retaining the 100 year old charm of the hotel. If you have reason to stop over between Abilene and Odessa, I'd always recommend a night at the Hotel Settles. ....... There's absolutely nothing to do in Big Spring, so you can relax.

This is an extended stay hotel but we liked the outdoor access (in COVID times) & the price was right. Easy check in-we called 15 minutes ahead of arrival as instructed & someone was there to help us. The room was a small 1bedroom apt complete with washer & dryer! It was clean & very comfortable. Great AC & great cable TV. Our only issues were the lack of any real water pressure & the door wouldn’t lock from the outside when we left.

we stayed one night during our recent road trip through Texas and New Mexico. We checked in with K'Lee who was a one woman show, very Friendly and gave us a great recommendation for dinner. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. Next morning we checked out with Selena who went above and beyond to assist us with some technical difficulties. Thank you ladies so much for your assistance!

I stay in lots of HIE locations but this is the first time I have stayed in this location. I am a frequent traveler. Mixed bag, some good and some bad at this hotel. Front desk staff were not friendly and they failed to acknowledge my top level status which usually occurs in all HIE hotels. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. Room appears to have fairly new carpet but there are issues--rotted wall by the shower, towel rack loose and ready to fall off the wall, light fixture on the wall was slanted down on one end and appears to be ready to fall off the wall. The soap dispenser was worn out--when you pumped soap, you had to pull the pump device up manually to pump a second time. The elevator floor was filthy. The hallway on the 2nd floor needed to be vacuumed pronto. The breakfast was good for a free breakfast but the two rooms needed a good cleaning. I stay in IHG/HIEs in multiple states many times each year and stay in 30-40 hotels every year with about half of those stays at HIE hotels. This experience was clearly one of my worst experiences in an HIE hotel in many years and I won't ever return to this hotel. This hotel's 4 star rating on TripAdvisor is clearly incorrect--this hotel is a 3 star quality hotel.
