Amazing
BBrian.WZHI booked a 2-night stay with my Mrs in one of the villas connected to the shared pool, and our experience started off on a great note. We were picked up from the airport in a very comfortable Toyota Alphard arranged by the resort. Our driver and resort staff, Khai, was incredibly friendly—he patiently answered all my questions and gave us fantastic food recommendations since it was my first time in LGK. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Daniel at the lobby. He served us beautifully presented lemon peach teas as a welcome drink and brought us through the entire check-in process. While waiting for our villa to be ready, we had lunch at the resort’s only restaurant. Unfortunately, this was the only part of the stay that fell short—the pizza crust was undercooked, a bit greasy, and tasted store-bought, which was quite disappointing. Thankfully, things picked up again after that. Khai later escorted us to our villa, and we were relieved that our balcony didn’t directly face the restaurant. However, I do feel the pool and villa balconies could be designed to offer more privacy so diners aren’t looking out over the area. Overall, the stay was truly pleasant. I loved that the resort is away from the busy beach, giving us a peaceful and quiet environment. All the staff were warm and friendly. A few standout perks include: 1. Complimentary rides to and from the property (subject to booking and availability) 2. Free minibar, replenished daily—including coffee capsules 3. Complimentary Netflix and YouTube accounts on the TV (which both my wife and I really love) 4. A pretty decent in-room breakfast experience. (they definitely do breakfast better than lunch, in my opinion) I also indulged in a 90-minute massage, which started with herbal tea, grapes, and a carrot stick during a herbal foot bath, followed by a foot massage and a one-hour full-body aromatherapy massage. My masseuse, Yaya, was incredibly patient and attentive, constantly checking on the pressure and even gifting me a small goodie bag at the end. All in all, I wouldn’t mind returning—and I’m even considering trying one of their larger 3-room villas next time. I highly recommend this resort for big families, couples, or anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

GGuest UserHow should I put it? Maybe I am not experienced enough. I have not seen a hotel that satisfies me more than Casa del Mar in the past 30 years of my life... Simple and retro wooden decoration, enthusiastic staff, pool lounge chairs away from the main beach area and sunset dinner, everything fits my impression of a holiday hotel.

GGuest UserWent for a couple trip to Langkawi. Deliberately chose Vila Sri Kampung as it was in the middle of the Jungle full of nature. My review will be slightly biased as I am already used to the tropical “happenings” like ants etc. as I am from Singapore. The stay was amazing as I could literally see the wild dusky leaf monkeys and hornbills right in-front of me across the glass panel. Pros: 1. Have nature right in-front of your face. 2. Experience nature like literally 3. Aircon works 4. Surprisingly no mosquitoes 5. Hot shower works fully functional 6. TV works with Netflix preloaded 7. Breakfast offered is super awesome. Had the best Roti Cenai (or roti prata in sg term). The Malay style breakfast was top notch. Mango is super sweet and juicy as if you hydrated a pack of 7D mangoes. Cons: 1. In the middle of nowhere. Definitely rent a car and use google map to guide yourself through the jungle. 2. The owner is pretty much uncontactable on this platform. Please please use watsapp to contact her. Also best to have a Malaysian friend/partner that speaks Malay with Malaysian number so that he/she can contact the owner swiftly so that you can enter the villa upon arrival. 3. Guard dogs if you’re scared of dogs 4. Ants if you’re not used to the tropical norms. To be honest, just follow basic camping ethics: after eating don’t leave wrappers lying around, don’t drop sugar crumbs. Dispose leftovers or wrappers into plastic bags and tie them properly. 5. Shower is functioning but bathtub is not as I was not able to switch water from the shower-head to the bathtub tap. 6. Wild insects like bees entering your villa at night if you on the lights. Just adopt the healthy lifestyle and follow the sun. This place is definitely for you if you want to experience the jungle first hand and feel like an explorer in the comfort of air-conditioned villa. Great escape from the digital world. This is not a place for you if you’re whiny ass cosmopolitan kid that has never touched grass or have short temper as things are definitely slow. The resort villa would be a better choice.

GGuest UserThe rooms are located on a private, secluded island, just a ten-minute boat ride from Langkawi's Cenang Jetty. There's an hourly boat service for transfers, and a dedicated meeting point at Cenang Jetty, which is very thoughtful. We booked a king-sized bed and paid an extra 110 per day, including breakfast, for a child's additional bed. We explored the island on our own and noticed some abandoned facilities that looked like they used to be part of another hotel. Contrary to some reviews, the hotel didn't offer a daily 8:30 AM guided trek for guests; you either walk by yourself or hire a guide for 120 MYR. If you walk alone, you're warned about an 800 MYR rescue fee if anything goes wrong. The name 'Trip.com' (携程) sounds enticing, but honestly, Langkawi's ecosystem is generally very good; I think Trip.com's descriptions might be a bit exaggerated. We followed old signposts to Red Rock Beach, where there's a cave, saw many pitcher plants and hornbills, and even met a French couple heading back. We had to turn back quickly ourselves, worried about the rising tide, as it was getting late. This beach, unfortunately, was quite littered, and even the private island didn't seem well-maintained. The hotel grounds are like a garden with many monkeys; apparently, you can feed them peanuts at specific times. Staff often chase them away. The hotel's coastline isn't very long, and the water is crystal clear in the morning. There are corals but hardly any fish, though we saw many sea cucumbers and hermit crabs. Food on the island is definitely pricier than in Langkawi and not particularly tasty, just passable. There's a convenience store on the jetty where we even had an instant pizza. Hiking on the island was quite interesting; it took us over two hours round trip.

GGuest UserThis hotel is right next to Langkawi Airport, just a 3-minute walk away. The airport is a bit old, but every room in the hotel is spacious, and the lobby is quite impressive. For a 4-star standard, the gym equipment is a bit limited. However, in a tropical country, perhaps this is all one can expect. The hotel's service, though, is excellent. Due to a last-minute change in my travel plans, I contacted them via email, and the front desk kindly agreed to adjust my check-in time, which I really appreciated. Thumbs up to the hotel front desk service! Each room has double-glazed windows with a gap of about 20cm between the panes, so you can't hear the planes taking off or landing next door. It's very quiet for sleeping. A quick tip: if you're heading to Telaga Harbour, the hotel is conveniently located between Pantai Cenang and the harbour. Taxis are also readily available.

GGuest UserThis hotel was our best stay in Langkawi, It gave us a little 'White Lotus' vibe. If you like lots of greenary, this hotel is for you. View is amazing. Food was good. Only the minus point was it is a little far away from the main center. sometimes difficult to get a cab after 8, if you want to go to Pantai Chenang. Airport and sky bridge was quite near and also some of the nice beaches of Langkawi. For food, there is an authentic Indian restaurant 'Delhi Darbar' at a walking distance. There is also a cafe nearby. I definetely recommend this place.

GGuest UserI admit this hotel is a bit old, so it's not as modern as newly built ones. But when you're in Langkawi, an island style just isn't going to be super modern. However, the hotel's environment and service are excellent. The restaurant and pool are right next to the beach, so having breakfast every day with a sea view is just amazing. The frangipani flowers, which are the hotel's namesake, are everywhere inside the hotel, along with many other beautiful plants and a variety of birds singing. I highly recommend staying here!

GGuest UserThe resort was better than we anticipated, after reading some of the reviews. The location is excellent and the room a decent size. The breakfast was great and the restaurant served lovely food and drink at affordable prices. Don’t miss the happy hour to get tiger  beer special!! Cleanliness could be improved upon and the general upkeep needs some money putting in. The staff are helpful and willing but some could benefit from extra training to be more  efficient and more pro-active ie, clearing tables and clearing empty glasses from beach .  Reception were extremely helpful when a trip we had booked nearly turned into a disaster. They called the number in Singapore for us and helped to sort the issue. Loved the nature around the place and  the resort has such potential for great things. Some board games in the reading/ sitting area is a suggestion.  The check in/out is a bit weird and long so bear with.

NNiliudashuThis hotel was just a place to crash; we were out all day anyway, so we didn't expect much. The location is excellent, right in town. Across the street, there's a duty-free chocolate shop, and plenty of food options within a few blocks. It's also beachfront, so you can catch the sunrise. We booked a suite, which was spacious, but the facilities were quite outdated. The hot water was intermittent, and it seemed like there was no hot water at all late at night! I left my swim trunks in the room and called customer service to ask about them. I figured if they found them, I'd just take a taxi back from Berjaya to pick them up. The first time I called, a man answered and said he'd look for them. When I called again, a woman answered. I'm not sure if she didn't understand English or what, but she just mumbled and rambled for a while before abruptly hanging up on me. Since I was short on time, I just gave up and bought new ones. The breakfast was mediocre, with limited choices. Just enough to grab a bite. The gym is tiny and the equipment is old, but nobody supervises it, and hardly anyone uses it. You just swipe your card to enter, so it's practically 24 hours. It was sufficient for my workout needs. The infinity pool has a nice view, and my kids loved it. There were a lot of Indian people diving and having 'doggy paddle' races, making the pool quite chaotic, and nobody seemed to be managing it. The Indian 'doggy paddle' is hilarious; it's not the first time I've seen it, I've seen it countless times now! I even wonder if it's some kind of Indian national art form? The key thing is, this stroke is exhausting and inefficient, yet they all seem to enjoy it immensely 😂
