Unexpectedly good! Singapore is incredibly expensive, and I spent a long time choosing a hotel for this trip before finally settling on this one. This duplex loft, though small, has everything you need. It's the best value-for-money apartment I found. The subway entrance is just ten meters away. The apartment is clean and hygienic, and both levels have air conditioning. The second-floor window is a skylight, making the most of the space. It's awesome! When I booked, I saw not many people had chosen this place, so I was worried for a long time. But when I got to the room, I felt it was truly awesome! The best and most comfortable part was when my Mastercard temporarily had issues and I couldn't pay the deposit. After a brief chat, the owner agreed to cash payment and asked for my check-in and check-out times, then returned the deposit on the spot (this is a self-service apartment, so there's no front desk usually). When I arrived, a staff member was already waiting for me. Even though there was a language barrier, they patiently used translation software to teach me how to use the room card. It's so amazing, whether it's the service, the room, or the location, just go for it!!!

While reasonable overall, there are issues that need to addressed and other annoyances which impacted my stay. The room was too noisy. Was put on the ground floor (after requesting a quiet room) and throughout the day and night people coming and going closing the entrance door and talking loudly in the hallway. Right next to a phone call booth (with digital concierge) which is on loud speaker. The single room is too small, where you can't even properly pull out the chair from your desk because it is pushed against the bed. The amenities are a bit miserable. Yes, it's a single room, but there's a only 1 bath towel for the entire stay duration. Not even a spare. No toothbrush provided, when even hostels provide these for free. The hot water needs to be switched on in advance before shower, and even when you do, threes a burst of extremely hot water, which then cools rapidly and with a minute or two there's no hot water left at all. There is mold in the bathroom, as seen in pics. I have stayed at this property before in different rooms (which were good), but I don't think I'll be coming back, at the very least not to this room type that is for certain.

The hotel environment is really good! Overall, it's very clean and tidy. It's about a 7-minute walk to the bus station, and there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. There's a convenience store downstairs, and a 7-Eleven is about a 2-minute walk away.

The main disappointment during our stay was the interaction with the reception staff, particularly Annie. After being informed that the hairdryer would be located in a specific drawer—which turned out to be empty—we called reception to request one. Her response over the phone came across as noticeably annoyed. When she arrived at the room, her first instruction was for us to open the drawers, at which point the hairdryer was found in the last drawer, stored together with a Bible. This raised concerns about internal communication and whether housekeeping checks were properly carried out prior to check-in, especially since the hairdryer was not placed where guests were told it would be. In addition, despite clearly specifying a double bed during the booking process, this request could not be accommodated. As this was communicated in advance, it was disappointing and affected the overall comfort of our stay. If this property were classified as an inn, it would be acceptable; however, as a hotel, it falls short. I am quite particular about cleanliness and upkeep, and unfortunately both were lacking. Maintenance standards felt low overall, particularly the bathroom ceiling ventilation fan. While I understand that the entrance carpet is intended for shoe removal, being greeted by a visibly dirty carpet is quite off-putting. The so-called “terrace” is essentially an open space with two plants and a wall planter illuminated by spotlights. While the intention to reference the Shakkei design principle is appreciated, but the execution and level of maintenance leave much to be desired. As other reviewers have mentioned, sound insulation is very poor. Footsteps in the corridor are clearly audible, and we happened to stay next to a family, with noise continuing late into the night. The shower area itself is semi-open with a grid pergola soffit, and we could even hear a neighbouring guest singing in the shower—which is completely normal and not the guest’s fault—but it does highlight how thin the soundproofing is. While the design intent is evident, better maintenance and acoustic consideration would have made a significant difference. If you’re considering paying extra for breakfast, it’s not worth it. It’s not served on-site—you have to walk out to either the German breakfast spot, Bread Beer & Brez’n, or Killiney Kopitiam, where the options are very basic (just two soft-boiled eggs and toast). It’s easier and more cost-effective to simply step out or order in breakfast instead, as there are plenty of other food options nearby at a better price.

Gd experience, my grandniece who come don't wanna go home, straight two night come after school. She cry when it's time to go home with her mum. Clean,but for first night the horror come ,there a lizard inside our room. Been chasing him,my sister had a phobia and could not sleep. Thinking of checkout earlier. Been telling one of the staff by the name of abiqail with no eye contact said that we are outside cannot do anything. There no open space, we lock the foor and there no open window,where did the lizard come from? So we ask for a spray, she said the housekeeping will been done at 2pm. The cleaner did come, but need to ask for the spray again. He did go an check but no sign of the lizard. After we come back from dinner there once again the lizard was on the floor infrom the dtiver sit. Once again my sister could not sleep. So we straight away call from watapps no,the staff told me to go to the counter the staff still there( counter close at 9pm but the lobby was open to quest to top cool n hot water from water dispencer . So the make staff by the nane of EDDIE did listen our problem,cause we said we want to check out so we can get a refund. Eddie told me it will take time until next morning. The other option is he can change a new bus(room) for us. He did let us check the room first and he did check all inside the bus if there is a lizard ..thanks eddie. Abigail should learn from eddie. After we check out, we ask eddie to take a picture of us. Did ask about the other room. Eddie show us the bigger room if we want a gathering with family. The hawker centre CHANGI VILLAGE FOOD CENTRE. Only 2/3 min walk. From hawker centre also took a 3/4 not even 5min walk to changi beach. And just infront of the lobby fatimah mohsin thai restaurat..555 BUSKING. Nice food and the price affordable. Will come again but make sure no lizard come to our room ...hehehe ..

The room facilities are outdated and the space is cramped; I'd advise larger individuals to reconsider. The actual room was even smaller than what the photos depicted. I've previously stayed at a branch of the same hotel chain on North Bridge Road, and the conditions and environment there were significantly better. Although this hotel is conveniently located near an MRT station, it's next to Little India, so there are many Indian people in the vicinity. This was my first time experiencing an 'M-cabin' room type, and I wasn't careful enough, even bumping my head. I won't be trying this type of room again. However, the staff's service was very thoughtful and attentive.

Thanks to the kind staff who helped us take photos, booked a Grab for us, and shared information about nearby food streets and local snacks. We look forward to staying here again. The only surprise was the lack of hot water when everyone showered at night.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay and felt that the property offered good value for money, especially considering Singapore's high cost of living. The location is one of the biggest highlights. It is just a few minutes' walk from Clarke Quay MRT station, making it very convenient to get around the city. There is also a FairPrice supermarket within walking distance, which was great for picking up snacks and daily necessities. One of Singapore's famous local restaurants, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, is less than a five-minute walk away. In addition, several shopping malls and dining options are nearby, making the area very convenient for both tourists and short-term visitors. I was fortunate to stay on one of the upper floors and discovered the outdoor seating area upstairs. The view was surprisingly nice, especially with the stunning building directly across from the property. It was a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. There is also a water refill station available in this area, which I found very useful. However, guests are allowed to smoke there, so it may not be ideal for those who are sensitive to cigarette smoke or have allergies. The room itself was thoughtfully designed. Despite the compact size, there was enough space to comfortably open a 24-inch suitcase. The layout felt practical and well-organized, and the room included both hot and cold water dispensers, which was a nice convenience. There were a few areas that could be improved. Housekeeping did not seem to follow the cleaning request sign that I hung up, and no cleaning was provided during my stay. Fortunately, I did not leave my towels on the floor, otherwise I might not have had clean towels available. The tissue box was also nearly empty when I arrived, and since housekeeping did not come, it was never replenished. Another issue was the front desk availability. Even during normal business hours, staff were not always present. When I needed to store my luggage, I felt a little uncertain because there was no one at the desk. Luckily, I had asked a staff member about it earlier when I happened to see them. I would also suggest informing guests in advance that they may want to bring their own reusable water bottle to take advantage of the water refill station. Not everyone may be aware of this, and it could make their stay more convenient. Regarding noise, conversations from neighboring rooms were generally not a problem. However, door opening and closing noises were very noticeable and could be heard quite clearly from inside the room. Despite these minor issues, I would still recommend this property for its excellent location, practical room design, and reasonable pricing.

We booked superior studio and deluxe studio. Superior is very small I must say, but it’s clean and equipped with all basic necessities such as cups, plates, small towels, big towels, smart TV, toothbrush, microwave and safe deposit. Pls note that this type of room does not have washing machine unlike deluxe studio room. Cleaning is provided on weekly basis, you may refer to their schedule for it. Overall it’s a pleasant experience and although there’s barely staff seen in the premises, they’re just a chat away. They upgraded us to another room when our washing machine broke down on day 2. Highly recommended 👍🏻

Reasonable for the price, if you just need a place to sleep. Am a local, and this location is excellent if you need to get to Toa Payoh, Novena or even up to Harbourfront (VivoCity) via public transport. Found out that some third floor rooms (facing main road) will get blocked view due to the roof of the 2-storey building it's connected to, as I've stayed in 2 different rooms of similar configuration but on different floors. There's storage space beneath the bunk beds for your luggage, and also shoe rack built into the bunk bed's stair if you're someone organised. Shelf, safe box, bed light and power outlet (sort of universal, can be used with UK (local 3-pin), Euro or US pin but power adapter must support local 220-240V / 50/60HZ) located by each beds if you need those. Toilet is very compact though. Rooms are generally clean, only issue I faced but not a deal breaker was that can see dust floating on the air when the bed lights are turned on, especially on the lower bunk bed. Ask the staff if you need to wash your clothes, as the laundromat at the back of the building can be utilized by guests (for free) apparently.
