Best place for a wedding venue I have been to absalouley fantastic place 10/10 everything rooms the venue the service faultless

We recently visited for the wedding show case, we booked the stay dine and breakfast package which was excellent value. The room was lovely, and a bottle of Prosecco chilling ready for us (part of the package). The wedding showcase was lovely not too busy we were given plenty of time to look around. Stephanie and Stacey have been so helpful we are now planning to have our wedding here early 2028 which we are so excited about! After the showcase we went to the restaurant for our meal food was beautiful well presented and hot, cocktails to die for and every single member of staff we encountered was so lovely. We finished the night in the bar lovely atmosphere, lovely locals who engaged us in conversation. South Causey is such a great place, friendly place and we loved the new addition of pets corner, we wouldn’t dream of holding our wedding anywhere else. Can not wait to return again soon! HJEM AT SOUTH CAUSEY INN The owners of Michelin star restaurant Hjem, Alex Nietosvuori and Ally Thompson-Nietosvuori, hosted the renowned Terry Laybourn at a special event last night (20 May 2026) during their residency at South Causey Inn. With the first Michelin stars for Northumberland and Newcastle upon Tyne between them, it was an absolute culinary delight!! Eight courses of stunning flavours and textures, from the sea and the land, beautifully presented and served by attentive staff throughout. The atmosphere here is quite different to their restaurant at Wall, being very vibrant and busy, but with the same excellent standards of food and service. It is going to be fascinating to experience their personally-designed project, Restaurant Freya, when it opens within the grounds of Close House. If you haven't already visited Hjem at South Causey Inn, you still have time to do so - beautiful food in a beautiful location!

I booked a massage at the newly opened Woodland spa and thoroughly enjoyed it. The April offer is very good value for money. I got the 60 minute relaxation full body massage, the greeting was very welcoming when i entered the salon to be taken in person to the new spa facility. The decor is chic/skandi and relaxing. The waiting area has a comfy sofa and water available. The bed in the room is so comfortable, heated and can be positioned electronically from all angles to make you comfortable. The massage itself included brushing and pressure to my liking of each area, using Temple spa products (smell delightful). Afterwards i was taken to the relaxation area and given like infused water and frozen grapes which was really refreshing. The staff were really keen for feedback (which is great) and took care of me very well. I look forward to returning and seeing what the spa suites look like when they are finished!

Absolutely fantastic afternoon tea well worth the price. Each person received their own little picnic table with sweet and savoury food options. So much food we brought half of it back home with us. Unlimited tea and coffee. Staff so friendly and very helpful nothing was too much trouble even when busy. Highly recommend

Stayed in Duck House due the evening was spotlessly clean, lovely furnishings and outdoor space. Great in the heat all bedrooms have air con!! We had a meal in the restaurant and the food was lovely and I need to give a special mention to Sue and Sam who looked after us all evening. The service was impeccable, very attentive and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better to look after our table. They are a great credit to your team … thank you Sue and Sam we hope South Causey know how lucky they are to have you as part of their team!

Attended for a family wedding. Beautiful setting, lovely room, clean and well appointed. Staff friendly and attentive. Had a great stay.

Family meal to celebrate an 18th birthday in one of the pods. I had the trio of meats which was outstanding. The staff were amazing, special shout out to Abbie for looking after us.

Having walked out in disgust from a nearby large hotel ( but that's another story) we were very pleasantly surprised to find this gem. Accommodation as described, very friendly, helpful staff , good food and customer care. Our only regret is not booking this oasis in the first place.
