Ruby River Hotel

Spokane|1.37km from downtown
We had reservations made through the hotel's website, but when we got there to check in at 3:30, we were told that our room wasn't ready. The staff member took my ID and credit card, looked me up, and then literally started yelling at me that there wasn't a room ready yet because they had been full the night before and were understaffed and unable to clean all the rooms in a timely manner. We did not understand why she was yelling at us, but when we asked when they would have a room for us she told us very angrily to come back in an hour. We returned at 5pm (check-in is supposed to be at 3) and had a very similar experience with a different staff member, who also got very belligerent with us and denied us a room after we stood in line and watched several others get their rooms. It was after 6pm when they finally gave us a room, and only because we did the online precheck in the hopes that it would secure us the next open room. It's unclear why the staff wouldn't do that for us (we had asked at 5:00 and got yelled at more), or at least explain to us that we needed to do online check-in if we wanted to get a room before 8pm that night. They were incredibly rude to us multiple times and treated us like we'd done something wrong even though it was absolutely their fault. We feel pretty strongly that if you can't staff your hotel it's probable that you are not paying your staff enough to attract workers. And either way, if you can't clean all your rooms, DON'T RENT THEM OUT. This problem should be the HOTEL”S problem, not the guests'. And no matter what, your staff should be trained to be apologetic when they can't do their job, not belligerent. Worst hotel experience I've ever had. After all that, the rooms were nothing special and the hotel was very noisy and difficult to sleep in because you hear every little footstep above you or door open and close in the hall.

Ramada by Wyndham Downtown Spokane

Spokane|2.23km from downtown
I have reported this incident to the hotel many times with no attempts at resolution including to the front desk twice, four times to corporate, and posts on Facebook and Twitter with 80 shares. Clearly they want to ignore this and are not willing to address the danger faced by women staying at this hotel. Beware if you care about your safety! ***TRIGGER WARNING*** On Saturday March 13, 2022 at around 2:30am, a male staff member named Alex working at the Ramada Inn Downtown Spokane used the universal room key to enter my hotel room. I was asleep and was startled awake by the sound of him at the foot of my bed. I saw his shadow looming over me and I started screaming and yelled, ”Who is that? Get out of my room.” He yelled back, ”No one's supposed to be in this room.” He went back to the doorway and held the door open while he yelled at me and demanded that I leave. He said the room wasn't paid for and that I needed to leave immediately, in the middle of the night. I was shocked at the abruptness of his demands and explained that I had arranged with the front desk earlier that day to extend my stay for a second night. In fact, my assistant and I had talked three times to the front desk about extending my stay after the rest of our group left. He rudely replied that I hadn't completed the paperwork and thus had no right to be here. He again demanded that I leave and that he would collect my things. He said the rest of the ”refugee group” left earlier and that I was no longer welcome. He blamed me for this situation because I failed to sign paperwork despite being told twice by Katie at the front desk that I could take care of this later. I felt unsafe after he had been in my room so I handed him our nonprofit's credit card and said the card should already be on file but just run it again. He refused the card and said that was not an option. He seemed to determined to see me leave but then took a deep breath and said, ”I will let you stay the rest of the night” if I came downstairs now to sign paperwork and process the payment - as if he were doing me a favor by not throwing me out of the hotel. I didn't really want to leave my room at this point but I finished getting dressed and followed downstairs to finalize the transaction. When I arrived at the front desk, he was looking at the computer file and it seemed to me that he finally noticed something that indicated my story was accurate because his tone finally softened. He said, ”since there seems to have been a misunderstanding on both sides, I'm giving you 50% off for now.” First, there was no misunderstanding on my side and second, there was no apology. I requested contact information for his manager to report the intrusion and he refused, saying I could talk to them in person in the morning. At this point, I was just eager to get back to my room and signed the credit card transaction. I tried to get back to sleep but that was pointless. I was completely rattled by awakening

Holiday Inn Express Spokane-Downtown

We flew into Spokane for a nice long road trip to explore this part of the USA. This hotel was where we stayed for a few days at the beginning of the trip, and we liked it so much that we returned there for the final night. It is in a primo location. A castle up on the hill with beautiful sunsets. We had planned to stay nearer to the airport on our last night but we liked this hotel and the location worked out well. The rooms were very very clean and the staff were nice and helpful. We had a little problem with the refrigerator in the room, they immediately sent maintenance to replace it. Breakfast was good, basic HIEX done well, they were keeping it clean and fresh. We chatted with the lady staffing the breakfast, and she was really nice and friendly. Nice little balcony overlooking the river, there were hotels on the river but this one is across the road. The location, up on the hill, so pretty. It’s got nice landscaping and some fragrant flowers planted near the front door. Parking was not a problem until that final night, the hotel was full and we were lucky to find a place right by the door. They bake fresh cookies every night and have them available for free at the front desk, really nice especially during these crazy times. Will stay here again when we return to the area. It was easy to walk to our car rental place, about a mile away.

Very clean and close to what we came for. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. They had a very good breakfast we didn’t get to eat any other meals there. The pillows were good the bed was a little to hard for my comfort not really bad just a little.

I was in town to visit family and had a nice safe haven at the Hotel Ruby! The staff was exceptionally kind, the room was clean and cute and the rates were really good. The location was great, I enjoyed getting up in the morning and going for a nice walk to grab coffee. A really good home base!
Courtyard Spokane Downtown at the Convention Center

I was in the week of October 16-22, for a conference. The hotel is a fantastic location, in front of Riverside Park, which is the centre of Spokane, two steps from the congress centre, which reaches walking by the Centennial Trail, a path that costs Spokane River for 38 miles eastward. West. It is advisable for those who have to go to work at the congress centre. They also have the Starbucks in the lobby, and the strippers of long chairs in front of the TV, always in the lobby (very Stefano? :-) The rooms are clean and comfortable, soft and large beds, as in the American style. Then Spokane is a city in the midst of a fabulous nature, in the amazing Washington State.

This hotel had the best Amenities such as in room safe, internet connection, fancy bedding with deluxe pillows and bedspreads. Also the bathrooms were high fashioned with walk in showers with doors and lots of soap and lotion to enjoy for personal hygiene and comfort. The restaurants and lounge area were high fashioned and very Medieval type. Very convenient for llarge groups. I would suggest a Toastmasters International at this place due to very large conference and ballrooms for both Banquets and World Speaking Contests. The headquarters is located in Mission Viejo CA where founder Ralph Smedley founded this group coming up 100 years in 2026 and more than 20000 clubs worldwide including many in Spokane WA, Hopefully if they do meet here, they will be able to ride to sky glider ride and face much calmer Wildfire situation as opposed to present plus not have many streets under construction,
