Great stay for a colonial experience. The cottages were comfortable with large common areas. One must do both the tea garden and botanical garden walks. (30-45 mis each) Staff is courteous and well ***nered. The resort operates on an all inclusive basis. However food was not upto the mark. Dinner was a basic Indian meal with one non vegetarian dish and only fruit cream for desert. Stayed at other resorts close by and they offer a choice of menus which the guest needs to choose in advance. Breakfast also was basic with only cornflakes or chocos and eggs to order or an Indian option.

We were six couples and stayed here for one night-27th March. A lovely property so well kept. The general ***ager personally took us around the property and the ***ager Deepak took us around to the tea garden adjoining the property. The bada Bunglow comprising of four bed rooms could remind you of the tea estate ***aging English*** living in style. The food was excellent and so was the staff.

What an experience of the unique charm of Wild Mahseer, a hidden gem nestled in the Brahmaputra valley. The property's allure lies not only in its lush tea gardens but also in the rich history and nature that envelops it. As soon as you step onto this environmental heritage site, you're transported into a world where time seems to stand still. The Eastern Himalayan Botanic Ark, a bio-diverse haven at Wild Mahseer, is a testament to the meticulous care and passion of the local communities. The ark is a living canvas of cultural inheritance, blending seamlessly with the lush surroundings. The 1000 years of environmental heritage and 150 years of cultural inheritance are palpable in every corner. The property exudes a sense of tranquility and authenticity that allowed us to craft unforgettable memories amid the tea gardens and national parks of Assam. A stay at Wild Mahseer is not just accommodation; it's an immersion into the rich tapestry of Assam's history and nature. Highly recommended for those seeking an escape into the heart of the Eastern Himalayas.

Stayed in Camellia. Cheap 2 x2 tiles in the room and bathroom do not match with quality expected of a 14k room. Linen requires quality upgrade. Food also average. Monkeys are a menace in the property

We self drove from Guwahati airport & it was a comfortable 5 hour journey to WM. Lunch was waiting for us at the lovely bright Glass House surrounded by greenery & nicely done up with white wicker furniture, colourful cushions, table ware.T he ***ager,***ish came in shortly & chatted with us over a late lunch. We had booked Golden Tips & they gave us the largest & best room in the bungalow. The estate is quite large & completely covered in vegetation & ancient trees. There are several bungalows on the property & each are serviced by their own wait staff who are always present. There is a common sitting room with couches, coffee tables & lamps, the walls adorned with safari themed art & ceramic plates. The rooms are a bit tired but in such lush surrounds one is hardly in the room anyway. There is a bonfire every evening outside the dining hall with a local band playing.....soup & snacks are served & one can order their drinks from the bar....the food was adequate & good.We went for long walks in the adjoining tea gardens, capturing an amazing sunset. The next day we went early morning for a walking safari in the Nameri NP. Afterwards we crossed the border into ***************** & took a long drive. Since we were the only ones on the property that night we were joined by ***ish at the bonfire & he surprised me with an upgrade to the Burra Bungalow! A beautiful bungalow remniscient of our colonial past eclectically done up with a mix of the old & new, large colourful paintings & some lovely furniture, each corner was a visual treat. We were given the best room which was huge with a even larger bathroom covered in rugs. The covered veran*** with its wicker seating looking out into the fabulous garden outside was my favourite part. The extensive gardens outside the Burra Bungalow was the size of a small park. We enjoyed our 2 days at the WM thanks to ***ish & the very attentive staff.

We were a group of 8 staying 3 nights specifically in that area so my husband and his sister could return to their childhood home on a nearby tea plantation for a visit. The ***ager was noticeable only by his absence and the occasional fleeting 2 min visit to the dining area on two evenings. It was quite evident that the lodge was badly ***aged, there was little coordination between staff members, a packed breakfast for an early start did not materialise and the food was in general of a questionable quality. The rooms were a little tired and perhaps new pillows could be purchased for future guests.

I was in the first room in Camilla bungalow, which is a short walk to the dining area. The room and bathroom are large and comfortable. This building has about five rooms (most around an atrium) and two ladies are in charge of the guests and will offer tea in the morning and evening. The dining area is bright and airy, furnished with white wicker furniture. Filtered water is on the table, but you can order bottled water at an extra charge. I had my best meals in Assam here. The buffet is plentiful and delicious. They also make very nice fresh lime sodas. Electricity is a bit unstable, but doesn’t stay off for long - just a minute or two. This might create a problem if trying to charge up batteries. Wi-fi in the Camilla Bungalow and the dining area is excellent. I stayed one night on my way to ***nachel Pradesh, and returned to have lunch on my way back as the food, ambiance, and setting are so nice. I would stay here again.

Sitting on the edge of Balipara, Wild Mahseer is a secured, afforested and expansive compound containing a cluster of bungalows, beautifully renovated. These include the Burra Bungalow, which is a former tea planter's home - now gorgeously renovated and is adorned by a combination of new and period furniture and decorations. It is available for accommodation, as well as the other, smaller bungalows around the compound, including Silver Tips - which was the bungalow in which we stayed. Adjacent to the compound are tea gardens in which guests can take guided walks. There are other activities available, and WM is located near key Assam attractions including national parks. Groups can take whole bungalows - or you can take a room in a bungalow. Our room was Black Currant in the Silver Tips bungalow. It has an enormous and firm double bed with lovely linen, large ensuite bathroom with huge walk-in shower, and opens on to a comfortable communal sitting area. There is a staff member in attendance in each bungalow who will make tea and help guests. There was good wifi. Meals are served in the First Flush bungalow, which was next door to our bungalow. The food was good quality, although more hotel rather than home cooking. As the only guests during our one night stay we felt a bit conspicuous - but the staff were most friendly. Charges are based on full board, so WM is an expensive option. But this was a worthwhile treat for us to finish our tour of the north-east, before returning to Guwahati. Thanks to Deepak and all the other staff member for a most pleasant stay.

A 5 hour comfortable drive from Guwahati airport to Balipara got us to the hidden jewel of Burra Bungalow at Wild Mahsheer in late Oct of 2022. It was like stepping back into colonial times with a heady mix of luxurious tea plantation vibes. Perfectly served bed teas and high teas in the high ceilinged veranda, an exquisitely decorated dining room. It’s table always perfectly set. The liveried staff always at call, prepared to meet our every request and make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Chef ***nima on call every day to take care of every dietary requirement. Our private visit to a tribal village, to an organic farm, the tea estate, a cozy bonfire and different musicians every evening who played privately for us, everything was organised and taken care of by an exceptional team. An unmatched bespoke experience of colonial charm and hospitality from which we came away pampered, refreshed and relaxed. An experience to fondly remember, cherish and revisit! Special thanks to Munish the GM, ***nima the wonder chef who translated all the wonderful recipes to gluten free for us and to Deepak who took exceptional care to show us the best of Kaziranga and Balipara. Suren, Ram, Rangawati and Babita were always attentive, smiling and ready to take care of every need.
