Bannisters Port Stephens is a remodelled hotel and an ode to the glamour days of luxury hotels from the sixties and seventies. We have a range of rooms designed for calm and relaxation with either treetop or ocean views.Located close to Nelson Bay, and a 2.5 hour drive from Sydney, Bannisters Port Stephens is surrounded by water and a natural koala habitat making it the perfect location for a secluded getaway.

Soldiers Point|1.25km from downtown
- Located close to the tip of Soldier's Point. Good location to explore most of Port Stephens (various activities, beaches, restaurants etc across Nelson Bay, Shoal Bay, Birubi Beach / Anna Bay, Irukandji Shark & Ray encounters and more). - Hygienic and well maintained rooms. Well designed and functional for families. ACs were well maintained. Kitchenette was functional too. - Helpful staff. They look out for ways to help out visitors with specific requests and needs. - The only negative we experienced was that a couple of groups of visitors pretty much cornered the pool on certain days, and were not following basic rules around hygiene (some of them were in the pool wearing their regular clothes!) and common courtesies to others... Quite annoying. I understand that this isn't necessarily under the hotel's control. But the fact that more this crowd was a large% of visitors suggests that this might be regularly tolerated. - We were given a fresh set of towels after the 3rd night, which was nice. - Overall, a good experience! We would be happy to come back here!

Soldiers Point|0.1km from downtown
We stayed in a couple of cabins for several days and found them to be clean and comfortable. The amenaties throughout the park are designed to keep the kids occupied with indoor and outdoor pools, as well as other games rooms etc. The mobile telephone coverage is average at best as is the parks wifi, especially when everyone gets up in the mrorning, so take as book and relax, as you should!

Corlette|4.34km from Soldiers Point Marina
Anne is the most amazing host! We stayed here from Christmas Eve until 27th December and had the best Christmas we could have wished for. Anne was so welcoming and kind, she even left us a bottle of bubbly for Christmas Day! We planned to spend Christmas day on the beach and Anne made sure we had everything we needed. Offering us beach towels, hats, sunscreen and a beach umbrella. Her breakfasts were out of this world and we wished we could have stayed longer to try them all. The apartment was spotless with beautiful bed linen and towels and the view was an added bonus. We didn’t want to leave and asked Anne if she could adopt us 😂 We stayed in many places during our time in Australia and this was the BEST! We certainly hope to be back sometime soon. Thank you Anne for everything.

A wonderful experience, from the environment to breakfast to service. I’ve been impressed by the hotel I’ve lived in. The hotel is located in the closest location to Port Stephons, and looks directly at the sunrise in the morning, unspeakable beauty and wonder. I will continue to choose this hotel next time. It is also very convenient to come from Sydney!

Continue to live, the hotel did not clean the room, come back in the afternoon to clean the hotel. He said that the person in charge of cleaning was off work, and can't clean today.

Family room, super surprise after arrival, the room is large, kitchen utensils are new and complete! It is a layout of upper and lower floors, with its own small courtyard and swimming pool. The underground garage is also accessible by swiping a card. The hotel is very safe.
