Hotel the Blue Terra

It was nice and clean, and the location was good. The room was warm and I felt like I was at home. Cons: The restaurant and fitness center were under construction, so there was nothing to do in the hotel. I stayed for 2 nights, but I called because the room wasn't serviced. It was a bit disappointing to hear that the cleaning lady had forgotten our room. Still, I came here in good spirits with my friends after a long time. I think it's a good hotel that I can go to again next time with a group of friends.

I stayed outthere for one night. The location is perfect for us to take a walk along seaside and gain quick access to seafood restaurants also with 30min driving distance to Shokcho Central Market. Room is clean and they offered room upgrade for free as well. I’m willing to revist there next time.
CHESTERTONS Hotel Sokcho

Sokcho is not a big city, so the location was good for going to and from tourist attractions. Bedding, TV, and room conditions were very comfortable, perhaps because it had just opened. It was inconvenient to have the room cleaned for more than 3 nights... But when I went out for the 2nd night, I was embarrassed to find that it had been cleaned haha. I didn't know who would come in and my luggage was all over the place haha. Towels, water, etc. were provided immediately when I told the desk. My phone broke down during my 4-night stay and I had to go to the desk to get it fixed. And I was assigned the 2nd floor, but I couldn't use the stairs, so it was hard to wait for the elevator. It was a 4-night stay that seemed comfortable but had many inconveniences.
Lotte Resort Sokcho

Why I chose this hotel at Sokcho : The sea view from rooms The wide range of room options The Lotte hotel chain I already know The amenities and services on site. We (2 people) booked a superior suite with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an incredible view on the sea. It’s the perfect place to stay to recover from a very nasty jet lag. We slept very well, enjoying each of us our own bed and room. Maybe it was the best view I ever had lying on my bed. The hotel is huge and comes with many amenities, which are well described on the website. In October the water park is closed and the hotel is pretty quiet, which is exactly what I was expecting. I personally would not come here during busy Summer holidays. The staff is very friendly and speaks enough English for helping you to book a taxi. I was happy to be told that they don’t charge any longer a deposit on your credit card, which takes then weeks to be cleared out. Instead they charge the total amount due for your stay at check-in, which I find more convenient. From the hotel (located on a hill), you can walk (along the sea) either on the left to the long sand beach, or to the right to the port, where you will find many seafood restaurants. We ate one evening at one of the hotel restaurants (Natural Soul Kitchen). The food was delicious, refreshing and healthy. To reach the hotel, we took the bus from Seoul Express Bus Terminal (Gyeonbu Yeongdong Line, next to Gangnam area). It takes around 2.5 hours. The bus departing from this terminal arrives at Sokcho EXPRESS Bus Terminal, which is close to Sokcho beach and closer to the Lotte resort. Be aware that there are 2 bus terminals in Seoul from where you can reach Sokcho. At Sokcho, there is another bus terminal further north (Sokcho INTERCITY Bus Terminal). Make sure that you depart from the same terminal where you arrived if you have return tickets. We didn’t manage to buy the bus tickets online. Apparently you need a credit card issued in SKorea to be able to process the payment. So we had to go directly to the bus terminal to buy our tickets. If you want premium seats buy them several days in advance. Even if your main interest is hiking in Seoraksan National Park, I think this hotel is the perfect « base camp », as in the morning you will wake up with this beautiful sea view and at night you will fall asleep with the sound of lapping waves. I will come back for sure. The hotel, the sea, the mountains,... I didn't expect to feel so well and so energized there.

The facilities are old, but there are remodeled rooms and unremodeled rooms. Book in accordance with your pocket. The internal bedding and towels were unexpectedly neatly dry and smelled good. There is also a sauna and a convenience store. However, the parking space is narrow. Breakfast is not much, but it was delicious with buffet style.
Hotel Maremons

I went on a family trip and made an ondol room. It was so nice to see the sea view. I walked because it was close to Daepo Port, but it is uncomfortable because there are not many traffic lights. Make sure to bring your vehicle. There are no facilities such as convenience stores inside the hotel, so it is recommended to bring them in advance. It is said that the Sky Lounge on the 11th floor allows you to eat food from outside. It costs 14,000 won for breakfast, and it's a little wasteful to eat. If you don't bother, you'd better go out. The parking lot was great as it was spacious in front of the building. Friendly staff.
