We visited Castle Dargan for a recent family event.Such a lovely welcome. Staff at reception were fantastic and we felt at home straight away!! The surroundings are lovely and the hotel was cosy and the atmosphere was very conducive ho relaxation. Food was spot on, both that night and the following morning. Thanks for the sll the coffee refills! 😊All in all, really recommend Castle Dargan. We will be back. Thanks again guys!

The grounds are nice and that's about all the good I can say about my recent trip to Castle Dargan! First stop was the spa, really this place shouldn't be open to the public as nothing was working, it is not a spa it is somewhere to get basic treatments. The showers in the changing room had no hot water and it was actually hard to find a towel or a dressing gown as most of the lockers were empty, the sauna was broken and didn't work at all, the steam room was barely producing any steam, the hot tub had in it broken sharp bits of plastic which were very dangerous, the place was strewn with empty paper cups, we never received our glass of prosecco that was included in our deal, but worst of all (& what really lost me forever as a customer) was the attitude on the blonde receptionist! Such a rude lady, I won't just not return, I'll tell anyone who will listen how horribly bad it was! I honestly fell bad for anyone that visits this place for a special event like a birthday or anniversary, it was a complete waste of money and I left much less relaxed than I arrived. Then on to the bar for food and drinks. The waiter was a complete disaster! Too many things wrong to mention but really he had a total lack of any customer service and was completely incompetent when it came to doing his job. From barely being able to take our order to charging drinks to our order which we never received the whole thing was a washout. I have been to castle Dargan many times previously for small gatherings and larger events and I really didn't think the food was bad, I actually raved about it being excellent but unfortunately on my most recent visit I brought most of the food from the table home to my dogs as nobody could eat it. The room was absolutely freezing and I felt a bit unsafe leaving my car in the carpark as there are people staying the apartments that just seem to wander around the carpark at all times of the day and night and it felt odd. I really do not recommend this place to anyone, there are much nicer hotels, spas and restaurants in the area please don't waste your money on Castle Dargan or the Icon Spa. I'm incredibly disappointed as I've bought vouchers for this place as gifts for friends and family in the past thinking it would be a nice experience, never ever again!

I think I've fallen in love with Sligo and this is a lovely hotel. Thank you so much to the staff for their welcome and their kindness. Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was delicious too. I haven't felt so relaxed in a long time. We'll be back and thank you again.

I had a really bad experience with the spa. The service of the spa has become really bad. The Greek lady was an asset in the spa. Where is she? She was amazing her skills and service was just brilliant. You guys need to hire better staff. the service is pathetic now.

We received excellent service from Aisling, Ali and Shannon. We cannot praise them enough!! They were so attentive and polite. The girls are a credit to the hotel! We had a meal with friends and it was made so much more wholesome with the service we received. Excellent experience.

We had a lovely night away here. We booked the sea**** baths in the icon spa first. Relaxing and warm with a lovely view of the golf course. Thermal suite with hot tub etc clean and quiet. The room was modern and stylish. Well kept. Hotel itself is clean and bright. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We had dinner booked for the evening which we wouldn’t rate but the breakfast the next morning was delicious. The fire alarm went off twice, once in the middle of the night. Quite a fright and the room didn’t seem to have the heating on. Would go back again though

My partner booked a spa package for our anniversary when we arrived there was a mix up the the booking making us have to wait a few hours for our treatment, Michelle on the desk couldn’t have been any more helpful and had outstanding customer service offering us complimentary breakfast, lunch and a sea**** bath while we waited for our new time slot, she kept checking in with us ensuring everything was okay and if we needed anything. Our massage therapists Amy and Stacey were exceptional and went into great detail explaining our treatments and recommended products to us afterwards. Food was also amazing along with the service. 5 out of 5 stars we will definitely be returning.

I’m being made re write my honest review by tripadvisor. staff were great food good. Couldn’t book spa as no availability . Radiator cover hanging off in room with wire hanging out. The part I was made rewrite: People not paying are staying in the apartments on site and come and go as they please felt very uncomfortable. I think people know who they are. Wouldn’t ever recommend staying here was a paying customer.

Stayed here with my husband and son for one night. I’m going to give an honest review. So it’s in a beautiful area and plenty of parking. Check in was easy and all staff were so friendly throughout the stay. Lobby are nice , modern and clean. Room was a deluxe double and twin was very big in size. Views of the golf course. Bottled water provided. 1 shampoo and body wash between 3 people not enough. Towel had brown tan stains in bathroom. Beds were comfy and pillows soft. Radiator top hanging off with wire out could be dangerous for a child. Plenty of channels on tv and carpet was soft and spotless. Couldn’t book the spa as no available appointments .We ate in the bar for dinner I must say was delicious and not too pricey. Had a great selection of non alcoholic drinks including wine and beer. However while eating groups of ulkrainan refugees came into the glass walked restaurant directly next to the bar. The website did not state this before booking. They are being housed on site in the apartments and get breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel. Just to make people aware the apartments are available to book on the hotels website. After dinner the ulkranian refugees were free to lounge around in the lobby area and play the piano. Young kids running into the bar and shouting so we didn’t stay around..For a four star hotel paying guests I’d expect more to be honest. It has great potential to be a 4 star hotel however transparent from the hotel would have been nice.
