This hotel is really great, if not perfect. Excellent location near the main square, Triumph arch and stone bridge. Adjoined to an abandoned-looking but actually quite busy mall. Friendly, helpful staff who went above and beyond. Throughout, beautiful design and expensive finishes, but with some strange design choices (e.g. unnecessary plastic plants) that someone seems to have done after the fact. Heavy wood, dark marble, smoked glass, recessed lighting. This is a very sexy aesthetic. Luxurious touches like Sbarra espresso machine in room, wireless charging pad, blackout curtains, + Netflix that some hotels twice the price don't offer. Amazing, comfortable bed with memory foam pillows. BUT, a very strange smell in the room and carpets past their best. The two may be related. Smell so bad I almost bought a scent diffuser to hide it. However this is the only real flaw in what is otherwise a great property and excellent value. Tip - just inside the adjacent mall is a bank with bright green signage. ATM does not charge fees for foreign accounts withdrawing cash.

Personally, I feel very good. The location of the hotel is just in the center of Skopje, which is very convenient. There are many supermarkets and shopping malls around. The hotel environment is also very good. The service is very warm.

Stayed here for four nights Lovely hotel, rooms are large, clean and modern. The shower is great, plenty of pressure and hot water. The staff from the owner to cleaners are very pleasant and always willing to try to chat to you Location is good, maximum of 15 minutes walk to the centre Breakfast is served from 7am till 10am, plenty of choice and always fresh When not if I return to Skopje, I will definitely stay at Vlaho again

The room we had was very small, the standard room photos on the website is definitely misleading except for maybe one, then it also looked bigger than it was. Little room to set up a 2nd suitcase and that was on the floor between the table and wardrobe. The room was really designed badly. When you close the drapes, they cover the aircon unit so you have to bunch up the drapes and sit them on top to get air. There are two power points which sit above the headboard so you have to balance what you're powering on the headboard (ok for mobiles but nothing else). There is a kettle but no plug nearby so we had to use one just above the skirting in the passageway and sit the kettle on the floor. There was satchets of coffee mix and 2 green tea bags that was it. No spoons, no milk. The bathrooms heated hand rail was dripping creating a pool of water on the floor. The shower doors (which had disintegrating fittings) didn't meet therefore leaving more water everywhere after a shower leaving the floor very slippery and dangerous. There were two towels, no handtowels, no bath mat. No makeup mirror which even the small hotels have. We ended up putting our towels on the floor to mop up the water and get around without slipping. The box of tissues actually contained some folded narrow sheets resembling toilet paper. On the positive side, the location was good, our dinner was tasty however the breakfast was crowded and disorganised and with little choice. This hotel is supposed to be 5 star. I think they gave this to themselves because it was no where near that level. very tired and neglected. Would definitely not recommend.

Generally a great place to stay with parking directly out the front and the team were great - they all seem to work solo which is a credit to them, managing to keep themselves occupied on a long shift alone. A stones through from the main attractions and also has a really nice little terrace out the back.

The staff were excellent, really friendly place, and the room was just what I needed - clean, quiet, and a kettle. Great location - right beside the Old Bazaar and a short walk from the central square.

”Don't judge a book by its cover.” Viewing it from the outside may make you gasp and reconsider, since it is surrounded by some shops, perennial mud puddles, a half constructed building next door, and, oddly, a series of dirt ramps for kids on bicycles right out in front (!). But once you venture inside, you find a modern, clean hotel with friendly lobby clerks, a small fitness center, free daily breakfast, strong air conditioning, and even free access to an Olympic pool literally next door (open a door from the fitness center and there you are) at certain hours. All of this is at a very low reasonable nightly rate too, I might add. Unfortunately I forgot to ask them their names but the quiet older man and talkative woman made things very easy for me during my stay. When I had a flight cancellation and had to stay an extra night than planned, the woman arranged for me to keep my same room. Not only did the hotel not take advantage of my plight and desperation for last minute lodging, but they actually found a LOWER discount rate for my extra night than I had originally paid! I cannot say enough good things about this little hotel and the hard working staff. It's a short walk to all the sights and also a few minutes away from Vero Center, a shopping center which has some places to eat including an a la carte cafeteria. The area is very safe.
