Village Hotel Sentosa by Far East Hospitality

I was very satisfied with the Indian and Chinese room service staff. The front desk had a young Indian man with short hair who was quite helpful; he gave me a room that, while not pool-view, didn't have any obstructed views. I didn't experience any other hotel services. Overall, the room was small, which was expected, and the location was good – convenient for getting anywhere. During my one-week trip to Singapore, my impression of the country was that the service industry, in general, is quite Western-oriented.

The location is excellent, right next to the monorail station. There are plenty of rooms available, and they have all the basic amenities. While the room size is a bit small, the overall cleanliness is very good. It's suitable for families.

Our first trip to Singapore was ruined by this hotel's cockroach-infested room and broken promises regarding service. We were two adults and a 14-month-old baby. We arrived at 12 PM to check in and store our luggage. We had already emailed the hotel about a month prior to request a baby cot and baby bathtub. When we returned around 10 PM to get our room key and go to our room, we reminded the staff again about the baby cot and bathtub request. Upon entering the room, we found a stunned cockroach on the floor. We immediately informed the staff who brought our luggage up and promptly left the room, waiting in the hallway outside. We tried to contact the hotel office using the hallway phone, but no one answered. After about 10 minutes, the luggage staff returned and told us to go to the lobby to switch to another room. So, our room was changed from the 4th floor to the 3rd floor. After changing rooms, no one delivered the baby cot or bathtub. It took us an hour of phone calls before they were finally arranged. The next morning, the hotel called us to offer a late check-out until 3 PM. On the morning of our departure, at 10 AM, we went to reception to reconfirm the late check-out, and the staff confirmed it. However, when we returned to our room at 2 PM to pack for the airport, our room key had been disabled, and we couldn't get into the room. We immediately went to the lobby and asked to speak to a manager. We waited for 5 minutes, but no one showed up. Our travel plans were delayed as a result. I completely failed to experience the high efficiency, diversity, and international top-tier standards that Singaporean hotel services are known for. The staff and hotel handled everything without any system, displaying an arrogant and indifferent attitude. The service was absolutely terrible. Phone calls to the room always took at least 15 minutes to be answered. This is definitely not a baby-friendly or family-friendly hotel, and it has completely changed my perception of Singaporean hotel service, leaving me extremely disappointed. The hotel's repeated mistakes caused great inconvenience to our family, for example, pushing the stroller back and forth along the long corridors to the lobby to deal with the hotel's mishaps. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel.

The pool is nice, and it's not far from the MRT station, but the room is really tiny.

Everything about this hotel, from the facilities to the service and location, was excellent. Being so close to Universal Studios made getting around incredibly convenient. Having a convenience store nearby was also a huge plus for grabbing meals and snacks. I highly recommend it!

The hotel has a great design aesthetic and a wonderful ambiance. My kids absolutely loved the many pools. There's Chinese-speaking staff available, who are generally quite serious but very professional, which is a bit different from the smiling service you typically find back home. In terms of location, it's very close to the small train station, making it super convenient to get to various spots both on and off the island.
