The room was clean, and the amenities were excellent. The view from the top offered a full view of the city. The area was safe and calm. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel room was clean and hygienic, and the location was convenient. It's right next to Ho Lok MTR station, and close to the ferry terminal, police station, and other hotels. It offers great value for money, and I would likely choose to stay here again next time.

Right next to the subway station, which makes getting around super convenient. The room was quite spacious, though the decor felt a bit dated. They have family rooms, which is great for a family of three. The only downside is the high price; 1500 for a night without breakfast feels overpriced. In China, you'd get a similar place for 400-500, and that would likely include breakfast.

The hotel lobby is quite nice, and the breakfast offers a good variety. However, the location is a bit far from the city center, and the rooms and facilities are a bit old, though well-maintained for an older hotel. It's good value for money.

This time I chose a slightly larger room. Although it was a bit old, the overall feeling was still good. The front desk lady had a great attitude and was very enthusiastic. The only downside was that checking out took a while due to the queue, and then I noticed there was a self-checkout box nearby where you could scan a QR code to check out.

I spent a long time looking for a hotel in Singapore this time, but couldn't find one that really caught my eye or had unique features. I finally settled on this Holiday Inn, which is part of the IHG group. I've stayed at Holiday Inns in Shanghai, Xi'an, and Kuala Lumpur before, and their domestic properties usually have excellent facilities and dining experiences. However, this Singapore location is quite different. It primarily provides a bed for the night, meaning you'll need to go out for all your meals and other amenities. It's more of a practical, functional place to stay rather than a luxurious or high-end hotel. The good news is that the hotel's location is very convenient, with easy access to both buses and the MRT.

The hotel is a bit old, but it's really well-managed. As soon as I walked in, I saw a lot of tourists from mainland China and Hong Kong, with fewer from India. We arrived around 2 PM and were immediately allowed to check-in (some hotels in Malaysia and Singapore enforce a strict 3 PM check-in time). We went for a swim in the afternoon. There's a kids' pool and a deep pool (2m). The attendant there was excellent, constantly offering towels, mopping up water, and helping open doors. There's a free water dispenser by the pool and a vending machine for drinks. The pool has its own changing rooms and showers; they're not new, but they're very clean. The room was quite spacious for this price range. At over 1200 RMB a night, it even included breakfast. Seriously, out of our 14-day trip across Malaysia and Singapore, this was the only place where we actually enjoyed the hotel breakfast instead of local options. Besides the 1.8m bed, there was plenty of floor space by the window to lay out two 24-28 inch suitcases, and a proper dressing table. (Some hotels in Singapore are ridiculous, calling a 1.3m bed a double bed). In our room type, the toilet and shower room were separate, on opposite sides. There was one bathroom with a toilet and sink, and another with a shower, bathtub, and sink. How is that not considered two bathrooms, haha? Again, the facilities aren't new, but the place is generally very clean, and the bedding and towels are pristine white. Plus, the air conditioning was super strong; I woke up frozen every morning. Honestly, in Singapore, this is a very high-value-for-money option. I've stayed at some similarly priced hotels that just don't compare to Holiday Inn, and they didn't even include breakfast. I won't name names here.

The hotel's location is truly excellent, just a 3-minute walk from Metro Exit 5, entering through its back door. However, the facilities are really old; it feels like the standard of a domestic 5-star hotel from 10 years ago. Also, we didn't feel any Chinese-friendliness. Although the staff who checked us in were very kind, during check-out, the employee directly said: 'We do not speak Chinese.' (I didn't change a single word of that.) Haha, why didn't you just say you don't allow Chinese guests in the first place?!

The subway access is super convenient, and even though the hotel was renovated in 2015, it's very well-maintained. The room service is also excellent! The interior design is quite unique!
