Suitable hotel for couple

Staff are very helpful. Most of the housekeeping staff seem very hardworking. The hotel has been rebranded so everything is new, which is nice. Location is very good. Buses are within a 5 to 7 minute walk. You can take buses 24, 76, 154, or 155 to Paya Lebar mrt. Many eateries, cafes, etc near the hotel. It's an up and coming area. Now with that said, I have been visiting Singapore for a few years now and this area is also becoming like a red light district. As many have commented, the soundproofing between rooms is very poor. And there are men who bring *********** into the hotel both day and night bringing tremendous disturbance to the other guests. I find it becomes an unsafe and inappropriate environment especially since children and solo female travelers stay at the hotel. Night and day staff should be trained to be alert, discerning, and deal with this ongoing issue properly. I am aware one of the other branded hotels on Joo Chiat is very strict and require passports from all guests who are staying. It requires wisdom because I have observed a man pretend to check in alone and brought the ********** up to his room later when no one is looking. I have stayed at the other Venue hotels along Joo Chiat and this is a recurring issue. It must be dealt with otherwise it will drive out business. It's unfortunate that a few bad apples will spoil the whole barrel.

Room was newly renovated with similar concept layout like Venue hotel. Although, my bathtub was removed and renovation noise still ongoing. Slightly disappointed but overall it was a nostalgic stay.
