This was my first time in Singapore. I booked 4 nights here out of an 8-day trip. Before coming, I spent a lot of time choosing among several hotels in the Marina area that were in the 2000-tier, and finally settled on Andaz.
Let's start with the pros: The complimentary minibar was refilled daily, including two bottles of water, a chocolate milk drink, a can of Plus100, a can of green tea, a can of Coke, and a bottle of beer. The large cookie I received at check-in was also delicious and quite unique. The hotel is located right above Bugis MRT station.
Now for the significant cons: The water pressure was very low, making showers quite uncomfortable. The staff member checking room numbers at breakfast actually showed visible impatience because they didn't quite catch what I said! This is quite rare for a hotel of this caliber. Although it's right above an MRT station, the location isn't in the core Marina area. It's one subway stop away from the main attractions, and walking in the heat, or taking a taxi/subway, all felt a bit awkward.
There was a minor hiccup mid-stay, and I'm grateful to Trip.com. I had requested a high floor and no corner room when booking, but I don't know if it had the opposite effect as I was deliberately assigned a corner room on the 26th floor (the lobby is on the 25th floor). The room layout was poor and the water pressure was extremely low. After contacting Trip.com, I was moved to a standard room on the 35th floor. The water pressure improved somewhat but was still on the weaker side.
The hotel doesn't have a smoking area; the closest one is outside the hotel, to the south, as shown in picture 3. The nearest large supermarket is across the street to the west of the hotel, on the B1 level.
