I came to Zhengding on the weekend to watch the Lantern Festival and booked an InterContinental Hotel. The location is very close to Wanda, and it is very convenient for eating and shopping. I came to Shijiazhuang for a trip on May 1st. Local friends recommended this state-owned five-star hotel. The choice was very correct. A good value for money option in the heart of Shijiazhuang. The staff were friendly and helpful, even with the language barrier on my part. Absolutely loved the view from the 17th floor over the provincial museum and downtown. The breakfast was a little lacking e.g. no fresh orange juice and what looked to be leftovers from the previous night’s dinner. I imagine this hotel was awarded its 5 stars a few years back but today I’d say it only really deserves 4, despite this, still an overall good choice.
