The stay was pleasant. They offered us if we want have a late check-out. I think that was considerate of them considering that people celebrate New Year’s Eve and that they stay out late. My only concern was that I made a request upon booking for a better view on a higher floor and they put us on a second floor. That was not pleasant for me. I did not insist anymore since I already wrote it upon booking and if they chose to ignore that then let it be. The interiors need renovating. The breakfast though was good. It has a decent Western/ Asian breakfast. I love that part. The place is literally a 5 minute walk to Sea World.

Amazing services. We were having trouble using the DiDi App to locate a cab in front of the premises after checking-out, the receptionist was quick to catch on and came to offer help on getting us a cab. They even provided their name card and told us we can call back any time for them to help us locate a cab wherever in Shenzhen if needed. Moreover, it was a rainy day and they offered us an umbrella despite me being already checked out, and told us that we can take it with us without returning it. 5/5.

This hotel was an unexpected surprise. The pictures really are very accurate. The hotel takes up the second floor of a larger building. It is on a quaint local street within about a 10 minute walk from SeaWorld. Several little craft beer and cocktail bars just down the street from the hotel and some international restaurants as you get closer to SeaWorld. The bed was similar to what you would get at a major hotel chain such as Mariott. It was also nice to have a dual heating/air conditioning unit as it was the end of a cold snap in Shenzhen. The shower is large and has an overhead rainfall. The windows could be a better insulated for the sound outside. Fortunately the street is generally quite quiet. The only caution I have is to not rely on the hotel to call a taxi for you. I thought this would be easier than using Alipay or Wechat. However, when I came down from my room, I learned this is what the attendant used to call a taxi, which creates the problem of paying for the taxi. The taxi driver tried to be accommodating but in the end, I used Alipay to get a taxi, which now made me very close to missing the cutoff time for my flight. An unnecessarily stressful end to what was otherwise a pleasant stay.

What was confusing is that the hotel isn't 'The Clouds' but actually 'Grande Hotel' instead, which felt really misleading. The hotel however is in a good location, and despite the lobby and public areas looking modern and clean, the rooms are a little worn out. The bathroom wasn't clean and needed attention, and the rooms are very dark and do not look like the photos of many I saw online. The walls are also extremely thin, and I could hear my neighbors having a conversation and their TV next door during the night. The toiletries they give you are really small, and it just felt incredibly disappointing considering the price and location. I also found when I got home this morning I'd been bitten all over!

I tried it and changed it well. I don’t need to get up and pull the curtains and press the switch. Just ”open”, It's too friendly for people I don't want to move when I lie down. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, most hotels are like this, nothing special. Their restaurant is very suitable for taking pictures in the morning. Ok, overall the Hotel was ”you get what you pay for.” It's not luxurious by any stretch of the imagination. It's small and has all the essentials. My biggest problem was that one night there was evidently a married couple that stayed in the room next to mine. The husband decided to start yelling, breaking things, and sounded like domestic violence. I immediately alerted the front desk and ask them to call the police. They promptly moved me from the current room I was in, to another further away. I still hear the screaming and breaking of things for a few minutes after that. The following day, I made a complaint, but the hotels' policy was for them to ”stay out of it.” They simply said they were moved to another room. I was speechless. I'm in a different country, yet I expected so much more.... Other than that incident, nothing was stolen, the units were cleaned daily, and they have a laundry room on site. The price was the best in town.
