Utoro Onsen Hotel Shiretoko

I used it on my first trip to Shiretoko as part of a group tour. Since it was a relatively cheap tour, I didn't have high expectations for the hotel, but I was satisfied with the facilities such as the rooms, hot springs, and lobby. The dinner and breakfast buffets in particular were very delicious, with many of the dishes making use of local ingredients. The open-air bath was nice and the starry sky was beautiful. I would like to use it again when I come to Shiretoko. It was hot in the hallways and elevators, but it was record-breaking heat, so the air conditioning equipment probably wasn't able to keep up.

This is my second visit to Shiretoko. Last time I stayed at Kitakobushi, and this time I stayed at Hotel Shiretoko. The room was larger than I expected, and I was able to relax comfortably. Also, the view from the room was good, and I could see the road going up the mountain toward the Sea of Okhotsk, the Shiretoko Five Lakes, and the Shiretoko Pass. I would like to use it again when I go to Shiretoko.

The hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable. During dinner, the futon was laid out, which was very nice. I'll probably tell the room number and have dinner, so it's good to have a service that I can do while I'm away. The restaurant was spacious and the food was a very satisfying buffet. I want to go again.

Since Shiretoko is not a place that is often visited during the winter, there are quite a few tourists from outside Hokkaido. Therefore, although the quality and service content of the inn is in the business hotel class of Sapporo, the price is relatively high. I was traveling alone, so I booked a twill room for 18,000 yen with breakfast and no dinner, and the remaining 4 rooms on Rakuten Travel. The inside of the hotel is clean and well-maintained, and it feels good. The bath has an open-air bath, and the quality of the hot spring is high as it is flowing directly from the source. The open-air bath (female) is in a small area, so it is hot, so there is a sign telling you to enter a wider area. Having said that, I couldn't see this display at night, so I ended up soaking in a normal high-temperature bath. There are many guest rooms, and the location is convenient because it is about 5 minutes by car from the sightseeing boat boarding point and the roadside station.

I think this is a hotel that has been around for a long time, but it has been renovated and is beautiful. We had a buffet for dinner and breakfast, and I was very satisfied with the wide variety of dishes and the fact that many of them were from Hokkaido. I didn't have to worry about wearing a mask and gloves when going to pick up food. When I entered the nature center next to the lobby, it smelled like cigarettes, which was a bit disappointing, even though it was a nature center.

The public bath is perfect. As for the demerit point, the sound of the corridor and the next room leaks out quite a bit. I don't know what to do now. This is the only facility. Look forward to it in the future!!
