A 5 star hotel turned into a 2 star one.
The staff are not much interested in work and take a very long time to check in
I was not able to connect to WiFi as I don’t have a ID verified number to receive OTP. So I asked the hotel staff if anything can be done about it
And the response was a No
The cleaner lady was very polite and would even press the lift button for me
The hotel is in a great location. Just cross the bridge and you will arrive at the centre of the city
I will stay here again when I come considering the low price
Overall a mostly pleasant experience

I imagine this would have been a very nice hotel when it opened, but 20 years and 20,000 cigarettes have been pretty rough on the place. Our shower didn't drain, toilet would run endlessly after every flush, and the carpet, walls, and really every other surface is spotted with stains.
That being said, linen was clean, bed was comfortable, check in was quick and easy, and the hotel is located a very short, very cheap Didi trip from the main pedestrian street.
Would stay again for a couple of nights if need be.

The duplex room I booked was spacious and fully equipped, with clean and comfortable bedding. The breakfast was plentiful, and the service was excellent; even when I arrived late, the manager reminded me to get food promptly, which was very thoughtful. Overall, this hotel is one of the better ones in Shaoguan.
I suggest improving the management of the charging stations in the parking lot, especially since many gasoline cars occupy the charging stations for extended periods, preventing electric vehicles from charging. This should be improved!

1. The hygiene is terrible. Upon checking into the room, I found cigarette ash everywhere – see picture below.
The glass in the bar was covered in dust.
2. The toilet in the bathroom was broken and couldn't be repaired; it's clearly been neglected for a long time.
3. The restaurant management is chaotic. It was crowded during the May Day holiday, and by 9:30 PM, there was practically no food left. I complained to the staff, but they said there were too few staff.
4. Bottled water is charged. When I asked for more than two bottles, they said there would be an extra charge. For a room costing over 400 yuan, this is the first time I've heard of charging for bottled water.
5. The customer service phone is frequently unreachable and no one answers.
6. The room cleaners didn't make the beds or tidy the bedding – this is the first time I've encountered this. The staff later explained they forgot.

I always choose to stay at this hotel when I visit Shaoguan. My relatives and friends live in this area, so the location is excellent for me. I was passing through Shaoguan during the May Day holiday, and with limited hotel options, I booked this one. However, it turned out to be the worst accommodation I've had in recent years.
