We were initially worried about travelling to shangrila because of the altitude, but we got lucky with the hotel choice! The couple running the place is absolutely amazing!! The owner picked us up from the train station making us feel so welcomed and help us avoid all the hassle of the unlicensed taxis! Once we reach the hotel, they were also very considerate preparing Chinese desserts for us in case to ease up the discomfort due to the altitude (all FOC)! The room were also very modern with smart home system and heater available in the room! Oxygen supplies also available which makes it so convenient ( we really use it in the middle of the night as we lack of the oxygen)! The owner also prepare us with heat pad and lots of snacks as well! Highly recommended this place!

The boss and his wife are very hospitable and always answer any questions I have. Yesterday, I arrived at Shangri-La Station and made an appointment in advance for the boss to pick me up directly at the station and take me back to the B&B. The service was great. When I was leaving, the boss happened to be free and took me back to the station. Thank you so much. The homestay was newly opened in 2025. The environment and all the equipment and facilities in the guest rooms are very good. The room is also soundproofed. For someone like me who has a light sleep, I slept deeply for 10 hours. It was so comfortable. The guest rooms are also very clean, and the items and supplies are neatly arranged. Secondly, the homestay is right in the ancient city, and it is within 500 meters to go out for food, drink and play, which is very convenient. You can also experience ******* clothing and take photos, and go to nearby scenic spots such as Tiger Leaping Gorge, Songzanlin Temple, etc. You can rent a car to travel freely. There are also direct buses to the scenic spots for you to choose to travel. Watching cows, horses and sheep along the way, I felt extremely relaxed. Shangri-La is a sacred place that lacks oxygen but not faith, and it is worth visiting again. 👍

The location is perfect, situated within walking distance of Dukezong Ancient Town. The room is huge and fully equipped with amenities. The owner provides unlimited coffee, and they offer free pickup and drop-off service to the station. They even helped with our laundry (after we visited Dali and Lijiang) and arranged a rental car and driver at a reasonable price. They felt like family! The breakfast was also delicious. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next trip.**
